  1. Polywatch is good stuff, but identical results can be had from a little (I use sensitive formulation) toothpaste mixed with water
  2. One thing noticed on upgrade is I can't access the full range of little faces. I just get "nopermission" Oh and what happened to old "conspiratorial wink" smilie that had migrated and was working yesterday? The new one looks like it's had a stroke ---> see?
  3. If you're lucky to receive anything at all, this is what you'll get.... http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_52&products_id=993
  4. Those are photos of the gen, which sells for upto $100,000. This one is offered at a discount $320. "Too good to be true?" Hmmm, let me think about that one
  5. From a professional perspective, I see programs like these ("dodgy supplements plus high impact workouts") as having a high % of snake oil about them. A reputable personal trainer is the best way to achieve results IMO.
  6. If anyone's feeling generous, I need about
  7. You just cut and pasted that from the 2006 thread didn't you?
  8. Confirmation without details is not confirmation worth getting excited about. Ask your source a simple question....what movement is going in this new Monaco. The answer will speak volumes.
  9. That's been safe-queened without question. Which suggests it may have its B&P as well. Which further suggests $28k is a huge undervaluation. This on VRF?
  10. Not as warm as she is sitting on my wrist right now
  11. Avoid like the plague. The MBW 1655 was, like its 1675 sibling, a dog. Looked awful, and gen parts didn't fit. Best bet is to use one of the cartel's as a base (preferably you'll need two versions to create a hybrid), then look at Omega Flightmaster hands (you'll need to broach at least one), and then you can start the cosmetic tweaks here and there. Last two or three members I recall having done similar are TMG (toomuchgear), Freddy (333) and most recently Lani(kai). Basically, a decent 1655 project is not for the faint of heart or wallet. Best you know that at the outset. Plenty of reading material on here, the search function is your friend
  12. Dani, you can also get it online in UK and have it shipped easily and cheaply enough within Europe. This store for example charges a flat rate 4.95 GBP to Norway. http://www.mankind.co.uk/shop-anthony?gclid=cld_6nqfjzwcfz4a4wodrxznyg
  13. Us old-timers have heard it all before I'm afraid. Not cynical but I wouldn't blow your wads just yet. Will require a mod of the new movement to be halfway accurate, and that will be expensive. Let's wait and see. @Laptime, here's a little something to keep you warm
  14. Madness. Prevention is better than cure. Not as lucrative mind you
  15. Not sure you quite understand the process. It's fairly simple... 1. You uncase the movement and pop out the crystal to avoid damage whilst treating the case. 2. Once you've removed movt and crystal, just remember to pop out the inner tachy bezel - these are the only 'markings' you need to protect. 3. Oxy-time!
  16. F, assume you got the wood veneer roll from Gregorio Garcia? What 'type' or reference is it?
  17. Black rubber deployant will be my choice of Ploprof... Although on the wrist, the orange has a certain 'something'....
  18. B, go on get the Leica version, you know you want to Also factor in resale value which more than offsets the 'red dot tax' in the long run.
  19. The Leica D-LUX 4 sold out everywhere? Really? Even the limited edition (gorgeous but obscenely expensive) titanium version? Plenty of them in stock over here. Why not see about picking up the previous model - the D-LUX 3 - on the cheap? I have one and it's a fantastic camera, definitely a pro-consumer choice. The D-LUX 4 is a lot more money for very little extra - mainly a hotshoe for adding a comically expensive optical VF, ad other trinkets. Yes, you are paying for the red dot over its Panasonic twin, but there is still a little processing magic that the Leica keeps in its favour. In fact I got mine (silver) not that far from your neck of the woods albeit a good while back, Camera West in Monterey
  20. It'll be the reissue Ploprof, but my god if they do that right it'll be the most gorgeous beast since the PAM 187 I must admit though having had more than a glimpse of the gen, the new rubber strap and deployant is gorgeous and would be my preference over the old 'sharkproof' mesh bracelet.
  21. Putting aside my vintage purist hat for a minute, I'd say for what you want it for, and the price, it doesn't look half bad at all. Not in comparison to some stuff out there. The dial is a dog of course, but the case looks half decent, and the CGs and crown look good. Litmus test though comes when you want to mod it. Will a T116 fit? Will gen bezel fit? Will gen/redial even fit? In all likelihood, not.
  22. Nobody's offended, but it seems you're not getting the oh so subtle hint. It really isn't worth your time or trouble, and will only end one way. As for opinions, I personally wouldn't touch your middleman wares with a ten-foot bargepole, and I suspect I'm not alone in that. No offence, I'm sure you have good intentions but I don't know you, therefore nor do I trust you or the naiive manner in which you've come across with this ill thought-out scheme.
