  1. Rob, Hope you enjoy the time off. Your post provides great insight into what all too often goes on behind the scenes of the forum. People lodging paypal complaints against dealers, demanding tracking numbers, etc., when they don't get immediate satisfaction. The service you have provided and the service the dealers provide is incredible in light of your experience. Thank you. For anyone who is reading, engaging in this type of behavior, chill out. This hobby requires a great deal of patience (and if you start down the PAM road, a great deal of $$$ ) Seriously, I have spent 2 and half weeks on a mountain side waiting for the weather to clear and that didn't require nearly as much patience as collecting reps does. Relax on.
  2. Andrew, A true gentleman even in when someone is being a jerk. Glad to hear it's resolved and everything is well, but I'm sorry you had to deal with the situation in the first place. Climb on.
  3. Wait a minute! You're telling me all of the watches I bought here are inexpensive replicas? I've been scammed! Climb on Scammers.
  4. Great post and must read for anyone in the forum, old or new. I will only add that in your research new guy, check out the "top three" thread. Here you have a group of established members sharing with you their favorites and why. It will give you some insight to collecting reps. Climb on.
  5. Estaban, Losing a family member is very difficult. My wife and father-in-law had to put their family pet of 16 years to sleep a few years ago. It was very difficult for both of them. I had to drive them home from the clinic. I wish you well. Casey is a good looking dog and will live on in your stories. Kind regards, Indy
  6. Alligoat, Thanks for the link and response. I am definitely looking for a rep dial. The one I have is a fantasy dial "Triple Red Sub" with maxi hands. It is a cool looking dial, but it has gold metal rings around the lume on the hour markers, not the painted dial that would be more accurate.
  7. OK everyone. I have an asian auto sub that Nanuq kindly sent to me a while back. Nanuq mentioned that this sub would be a good starting point for creating a good vintage model. Now I'm ready to get started. In the process, I'd like to upgrade the movement. I'd like to source a vintage dial, preferably something like a 5513 and hands for eta movement to get started. Any tips or leads would be much appreciated. Thanks. Indy
  8. I wish I had the expertise, abilities and equipment to do something like this with the watch I recv'd from Nanuq! I've thought about swapping out the dial and movement on the triple red sub with one from an eta 5513. Any tips and advice on how/where to start, where to source parts, etc? Thanks. And again, great work Palp. Climb on.
  9. My 2893 EXP II. Solid movement and I can set the GMT hand to my home time. Plus it looks equally good dressed up or dressed down. Climb on.
  10. Fantastic. I have the crown and the cyclops is on the way. This is exactly, minus the PVD, what I want to do with my 063. Great project. Thanks for sharing! Climb on.
  11. 1. ETA 2893 EXP II, black dial. I found RWG looking for a white dial version and after trying many but not being satisfied with them, I stumbled upon this beauty. It is my daily wearer. It's a watch that I have admired since I was a kid. It's not particularly accurate, but the dial is gorgeous and it feels comfortable and solid on the wrist and it keeps time spot on! 2. 063 with 2893. For accuracy, the movement and because it's big! I have the new crown and a cyclops is on the way. The first watch that inspired me to follow through with mods. Now I'm just waiting for the datewheel. 3. 192. Those blue hands! The butterscotch strap and the deployant. It's super comfortable, not too heavy thanks to the ti and I love the ti/ss combo. Plus, I find it strangely satisfying to wind it. Just something about that.
  12. Great post. Watches give us something to talk about, but it's people like you that give back to RWG that make this a community of friends. Climb on.
  13. I like the blue. I'm on the cusp, I just worry about the movement. I know there has been some discussion on that front, but for that kind of money, it would be nice to know if it could be easily repaired or replaced should it need to be. Any thoughts on the movement guys? I'm curious to hear what everyone else is thinking. Climb on.
  14. Good god that's beautiful! Just when I thought I had my small collection where I wanted it, they go and produce this. I liked the dial on TTKs too. Guess I'll be getting one of these when they become available, then I'll be done, until the next one comes out. One final question: What stage of paneritis is it when you begin considering selling off your rollie reps to buy a new panny rep?
  15. 2893 GMT. It's pricey, but it's worth it. Go with the 063. Climb on.
  16. I agree with ken. I just called around a few shops and asked, do you mind working on a replica watch. Found one that said he would and took it to him. No problems. Good luck. Climb on.
  17. I agree. I don't know how it could be done to make sure those with a real issue or problem aren't retaliated against, and I'm not sure if it would impact the fly-by-nighters who come here only to grab a quick rollie, but we certainly need to consider something. Narikaa's efforts here go along way in identifying someone, but what's to stop this person from reregistering under a different name.
  18. Great post. It's interesting to see the similarities in all of our respective journeys to this forum. Thanks. Climb on.
  19. I don't have pictures yet, but I'm sporting the 192. It's basically been on my wrist since I recv'd it except for showers. Climb on.
  20. Thanks guys. That's interesting about the gen. measurements. Rollie website says 36 mm. My rep measures the same as your gen RedRocket, 35mm w/o crown, 37mm including the crown. I was curious because I was thinking about updating my EXP I but I was confused by the different measurements. I guess the dealers are measuring with and without crown which would explain the difference. Sounds like the one I have is a keeper. Again, thanks for the response. Much appreciated. Climb on.
  21. Hey everyone. I have a quick question for those in the know and those with and Explorer I. The genuine is listed as 36mm in diameter. I've seen several offerings from different dealers here ranging in size from 35mm to 37mm. Does anyone know, is there really that much of a variance (I realize we're talking mm here) between what the different dealers offer, or are they all basically the same case just "measured" differently so we see several different sizes listed? I'm curious to hear thoughts or input. Thanks all. Climb on.
  22. We have access to the some fantastic watches thanks to some, quite frankly, simply amazing dealers! Seriously, some of the watches we have been offered, many of which have been mentioned, are just excellent watches period. But what makes this work is the dealers and their commitment to quality customer service. Andrew was one of the first people to answer my questions when I stumbled onto RWG. He was very helpful. So, Andrew, thank you. And Joshua and EL and River and Jay and Angel and King, thank you too! Now I think I will go buy a watch to show my support of these fine members of this community. Climb on.
  23. Gen based on dial, lume and bezel. It's a beautiful one as well. I love the EXP II! Climb on.
