  1. Nice watch and great photos. I really like the LV. I had one for a while. Your pics make me think I should pick up another one. Thanks for sharing. Climb on.
  2. I like it. I wonder how accurate it is. My Nike Altimeter watch has a thermometer and barometer function. The barometer tracks reasonably well while the thermometer needs to be set against your skin temperature, always reads a few degrees high. The altimeter has proven to be pretty accurate. Climb on.
  3. Nice comparison and review! Great work, thanks for sharing. Climb on.
  4. Had my 036 on a black buffalo. It was a sweet combination. Man, I miss that watch! A thing of beauty the 036. Climb on.
  5. I have a Nanuq-ized version of this watch and I love it. Very nice step-by-step. I think it looks great. Climb on.
  6. I'd love one for a 2893. This is an exciting project. Thanks for pulling it together. Climb on.
  7. I'm curious--do you all think the cg on the 063/029 needs to be replaced? Comparing my 063 to the photos (I know, not a great way to do it) but the cg looks fine. I'd rather replace the cyclops and the crown itself first. Climb on.
  8. Sub for me. I'm just not into Omegas. I don't like the broad arrow hand. Although the vintage Omega is nice. Climb on.
  9. A similar thread to this on the old RWG saved me. I attended an event recently and I noticed a gentleman wearing a PAM. It's the first time I've seen anyone wearing one. He was a very nice older gentleman and he and his wife were complimenting me and my wife on our little ones. They were saying how much fun it was for them (there children are grown now). Anyway, after chatting for a while, I felt compelled to say "Nice Panerai. You don't see many of those around here." And he said, "Thanks, you're familiar?" It was very nice. He then showed it to me then asked what I was wearing. (The first time someone asked me that regarding my watch. Fortunately I wasn't wearing a PAM. I had on my EXP II. I asked my wife about him afterward and told her he was wearing a very nice watch. She said yeah, he's one of the attorneys we work with but he also owns several high-end clothing stores throughout the state. All I can say is I'm very happy that I could pronounce Panerai in that situation. Climb on.
  10. Sorry to hear about your bad luck slay. I have been collecting for a little over a year now. I have been thinking about writing a piece about the progression of my collection, but what I can say is that from very beginning, I have been very fortunate. Here's to better luck to you. Climb on.
  11. The 2893 does allow the GMT hand to "Jump" to the next hour when being set, but tracks smoothly with time. The big difference is the 2893 is designed with this capability whereas the 2836 has to be modified. I have a 2893 Exp II and an 063. Both keep excellent time. Climb on.
  12. My usual, the 2893 EXP II from River has been replaced by the recently acquired 2893 063. Climb on.
  13. 063, EXP II, 063, EXP II, 063, EXP II, 063, EXP II, 063, EXP II? I love my 2893s! Climb on.
  14. Don't have that one, but you can't go wrong with Joshua. Asian Unitas copy is supposed to be good, but a few folks have had problems with them-not like the 7750s. Of course, some people have had problems with the Swiss 6497s too. Climb on.
  15. Hang in there Joe. Hope you're feeling better. Take care. Climb on.
  16. Now, having an affinity for the 2892 movements, I am curious to know if anyone has looked inside the recent 029 and 063 acquisitions to see if the 2892 movement is eta or not? I would be very curious. I may have to take my 2892 EXP II and 063 and have a watchsmith take a look. Climb on.
  17. That's great. I'm suprised by that. Just always seems like there is some small issue with fit or something in this hobby, so it's good to hear that's not the case in this instance. Climb on.
  18. If not too late, sign me up for one as well. Climb on.
  19. It really is edd. And it's powered by an eta 2892 just like the original. Price is a bit steep for a rep, but when compared to other 2892-based GMT watches, it's a bargain, and IMHO, much better looking. Welcome to the forum. Climb on.
  20. Yes he is! Just recv'd my 063 and the crown does sit a bit away from the case and it does wiggle a little when not locked, but mine locks down fine. Comparing what's on my wrist to some pics of a gen, the crown and the date mag are the two biggest differences. I should add that by "big" differences, I suspect only you guys and the Paneristi would notice them. The CG looks pretty good compared to the photo of the gen. I think AR coating, a date mag fix, a new crown and lume and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. I haven't popped the back off to see if the rotor is engraved. I suspect not since these were basically just put together. OK, having said all of that, this watch is beautiful! As one RWGer is fond of saying, Mmmmmmmmm. Panerai. Climb on.
  21. @cwai02 Great photos-what strap is that paired with your 063? That's a beautiful combination. Wear it well. Climb on.
  22. Good post. Is this the first of the 2893 063s to arrive? I am curious to hear if the crown issue your experiencing is common for this batch of watches. Too bad about the undecorated rotor. Not that it's terribly important, but the earlier versions were decorated right? Oh well, like you said, no one should see it, other than your watchsmith, who would know it's not a gen even if it were engraved. After the date mag, new crown and lume, you will have fantastic piece. Enjoy and wear it well. Climb on.
  23. That would be very interesting indeed. You raise a good question about quality of second-hand watches. I'm curious about the ethical implications that creates. Our reps wouldn't pass as genuine under moderate scrutiny even though some (not many I hope) have tried. Does that make our reps any less loathesome in the gen world than say a frankenwatch with genuine generic parts that could pass as the real deal? Or once a genuine always a genuine, regardless of where the aftermarket parts come from, including the movement? Climb on.
  24. I had an 036 from Joshua, but unloaded it after my second daughter was born. I miss that watch. It was a thing of beauty! The AR on the brown dial--just stunning. As someonoe mentioned the dial was slightly, very slightly misaligned. Gen is T Swiss T. Rep is L Swiss L. Other than that, a very accurate rep. Man I miss that watch. Climb on.
  25. I'd totally go for Subfrog's NOLEX Submersible. But given the difficulties surrounding the last RWG watch it's probably best to leave these types of projects up to the individuals. This was a fun thread. It represents the community and creativity of RWG. Thanks guys. Climb on.
