  1. I still don't like the new 8 day display, it just looks odd to me. I do like the date window though.
  2. Dang, me too.
  3. Here's a decent investment and nearly no risk: At least 4% return
  4. Now we're down to 1 member. Where is everyone going?
  5. This story shouldn't surprise anyone who has seen his submariner experiment. He isn't known for treating his watches "gently". I hope you caught it in time, but I'm sure taking it in for a nice servicing and oiling wouldn't hurt.
  6. I wonder if some water got inside during the manufacture of the watch. That is really too bad about the watch, I hope Andrew takes care of you.
  7. Now that was mean. I wouldn't contact nais about anything dealing with MBW or luckyyy, just FYI.
  8. I got mine off eBay and it's been fun so far. Like was mentioned the games for it kinda suck, but I hope for better ones soon. I have Socom, Madden 2006, and Untold Legends. I also bought the movie Friday for it, but haven't watched it yet. The hardest part for me with the games is the controls and I find myself holding it too close to my face when i play for some reason. If you get one you might want to get the giga pack version, the memory stick is nice. So, check on eBay before you go to a local store to buy, I saved about $150 off retail price and I also got 2 games with the unit and some extra accessories too (paid $285 with shipping). It would be nice to take on a plane with you, but get the airline charger and a better set of headphones too.
  9. It is over the water, but depending on the direction you hit toward (especially golf balls) you can hit someone. I've seen this hotel IRL and it looks sweet. I think that tennis court is really a helo pad, but they dress it up a lot to look like other things.
  10. Welcome Dave, I hope you spend some time here when you get a chance. If this is a "fake" Dave, I hope you offer to change your log-in.
  11. Mostly is depends on strap length for the deployment for me. If the strap is too long the deployment sits funny and digs into my wrist. If it's too short I can only use 1 keeper and that bugs the crap out of me. If it's the right length it sits perfectly and as mentioned the deployment looks great IMHO. For the buckle it depends on buckle thickness and shape. I've noticed that when I wear some Pre-V style ones that are really thick it makes the strap "buldge" too much and it's uncomfortable, this is especially true if I have a thick strap on too. I've also encountered where a few thumbnail buckles were made from really thin metal and they dug into my wrist. So, I guess it depends on the situation.
  12. Nice report! I agree there are many brands that are overpriced in my eyes too, but at least some of them make their own movements, that's respectable. I would love to have the JLC too, beautiful watch, but it's too dressy for me. Which PO did you try on, the new chrono? I have one of these myself (gen) and I love that watch, nice and heavy feeling to it. I want to get the chrono, but I'm afraid of the pricing when it first comes out.
  13. Dang it, I can't ever hide. Ok, back into the shadows I go.....
  14. "who" is the admin of Via Paneristi forum.........
  15. Not saynig anything........
  16. Or US customs, especially in the states of AK & TX, both of these places seem to find every rep and confiscate them (aka, take them home). At lest you wait every 15 minutes, I think I at time would wait a whole 5 or 10 minutes.
  17. Busted.
  18. What was this?
  19. Good to have another member on the moderation team. Great guy and it's going to be fun working with him.
  20. I'm usually on here, but I am "anonymous".
  21. I concur.
  22. Nice clock, i got myself one of those a few months ago, but mine has darker wood stain. It keeps excellent time, but it better because it's a quartz. Nice wife, maybe I need to show my wife this and make her understand I "need" things like that too.
  23. Great there goes another couple thousand $, thanks for posting the pictures. I really like the black bezel one with the orange indices on the dial.
  24. Next thing you know you'll start to look at your rep and think, "this looks really nice, I wonder how much a genuine would be"..... Then next thing you know all you have is genuine Panerai and you're thinking $3000-4000 for a watch is a nice price. Then you'll have a lot of cool watches and buy reps to do a "trial run" on your wrist to make sure you like the new watch and then you'll get more genuine and more reps. Oh while all this is going on you'll sell, trade and buy all kinds of new watches until your wife starts to ask you why you "need" so many watches. You'll tell her that they are cool and start to buy her watches to make her keep quiet because she'll like them too. Then you'll need a nice winder because you can't possibly wear all your watches and keep them all wound all the time. I won't even go into the strap/strap case collection......not that I have any experience with all of this.
  25. Those 2 members have been really busy, look at all their posts. I have a feeling Thomas is busy trying to get TRC back on-line tonight. I doubt the member count will be fixed until TRC is good to go.
