  1. At least Panerai dealers have the option to discount their prices. If you try and get a discount on a Rolex the dealers panic and say that if they discount a watch then Rolex will pull their rights to sell. Now, who is worse in your book? Exxon.......
  2. I agree with what Ken said about you not getting a bad watch. Before you try to find a local watch repairman you might want to check with the shop and see what they actually do there. If they are not a true watchsmith and are only a battery replacement technician they will most likely send the watch somewhere else to be repaired. With a 7750 movement you want someone who actually knows about mechanical watches. Then if they are truly a watchsmith and know how to work on mechanical movements then ask them how they feel about reps. When I lived in Colorado I just happened to find a real watchsmith who worked on watches himself and he would charge me for the service just like any other watch for repair. So, do a little research and it will all work out fine.
  3. I agree the mag on my PAM090 is weak too. It's hard to tell from that picture because of the angle. The crown does look a little off, but not 100% sure that's a rep......
  4. At the rate our prices are rising we'll be there in less than a few weeks. The average price jumps 2¢ a day here. And the oil companies are taking record profits, but they claim they aren't gouging the price of gas. I believe them......
  5. How about the crown?
  6. Check out this sweet PAM104. PAM104 For Sale.... Anyone want to compile a list of things wrong with this watch?
  7. Those guides look pretty accurate to me. I have around a 19.5cm wrist or a little larger than 7.5" and I like my straps to be around 120/80. If I get 120/75 there isn't enough "tail" on the strap to use the second keeper or at least not enough to make it worth wearing the second keeper. It also has to do with hole spacing too. I found on MP straps of 120/80 that I'm in-between holes and can't wear them comfortably on any of the holes. Finally, you have to consider how loose you wear your watch, I like mine to be a little loose and not strangling my wrist, especially with the thicker and wider straps, so you might need a little longer length.
  8. Nice work! Good to see you've been improving over the last version.
  9. Should be able to read, just not post.
  10. Glad you finally made it here. Don't worry about ND & USC this year because they won't have the refs payed off and give them a few extra ticks on the clock and give them a few extra tries for a touchdown.
  11. Happy Birthday to you all! Have a great one!
  12. Here's my work-out I do 3 times a week: 30 wide (as wide as you can go) push-ups 60 sit-ups 30 (3 count) flutter kicks 25 wide (about 1 hand width narrower than last set) push-ups 15 crunches to the right & 15 to the left 20 crunches to the center 15 (3 count) leg crosses (called hello dolly's) 10 alternating lunges (each leg, 20 total) with weights if you want to make it harder 20 (shoulder width) push-ups 2 sets of 10 half and 10 full sit-ups (40 total) 20 body crunches (includes legs) to the middle & 20 to each side (60 total) 15 "diamond" (triceps) push-ups 15 (3 count) bicycle crunches 15 leg lifts (both at same time) Should take only about 15-20 minutes to do the whole thing and it's a nice overall work-out. Then you run or bike 3 days a week too for cardio. Just a suggestion and I'm sure some of my descriptions of the exercises don't make any sense.
  13. Very true, I don't look forward to the day when I see someone offering "grandma hide" straps.
  14. PLEASE for the sake of your bank accounts DO NOT buy a Panerai. Just keep thinking they are overrated and ugly and you'll be a richer person. I used to think like you a few years ago and since then I've owned several reps and double that for genuine Panerai. Now most other brands are unwearable for me because they are "only" 40mm or smaller. They are very addicting and once you get one you just can't stop. So, like my warning said before DO NOT buy a Panerai or you'll be much poorer.
  15. I hope the guy was joking. When I read it this morning, I was just looking at the picture and wondering where the straps were then I actually READ it and figured it out, what a shock. I guess some people want their pets around forever, like those freaks who have them freeze dried and then stuffed. That would freak me out if my wife did that to our schnauzers.
  16. Post this story on Via Paneristi and see how they react to it. You are right that most people are amazed at how good some of the reps are these days. I'm chomping at the bit waiting to get my new PVD Panerai.
  17. Tough luck man. I hope you don't get into too much trouble. Have a good time and take many pictures.
  18. That's a baby PAM, too small for me. They look nice, but I have to have at least 44mm for my Panerai.
  19. I'm gonna go with the crowd and say the good old PAM111H, the newer versions are really nice and not very expensive either. Just get a nice strap and you are all set (for now, but you will want more, both straps and Panerai).
  20. Thank you, they both are great vehicles. I might be selling the Xterra soon, so let me know if you're looking. Both have been great vehicles and my wife LOVES her CRV. My Xterra has been great too, but I'm due for a new car and the Honda Accord EX is looking very good right now.
  21. Me: Nissan Xterra SE S/C Wife: Honda CRV EX
  22. Who gets a long weekend? I only get my normal Saturday and Sunday off. We're going to a friends house for a dinner on Sunday, but that's about all for the BIG plans.

    McGillicutty

Well, there's a family crest for this family name: McGillicutty Family Crest I thought it was the name of a character in a movie or TV show.
  24. I hope you feel better to RBJ. A word of advice, don't look at that thumb, it can only make you feel worse.
