  1. My picks would be: PAM005 PAM111 PAM000 PAM112 I put the 005 above the 111 because the logo is cool and the 111 is very common, but I do like the new sandwich dial, both of these are higher because of the sub-dial seconds. Then the 000 because of the logo and the 112 is last, it's too bland for my taste. Good luck and let us know which one you get. My fir real Panerai was the 104 and since then I've had a few and my most current is a PAM090, but I still like the 104 a lot and might get another one, unless I get a 194 first.
  2. I will be the lone blade of grass standing in the face of the hurricane and say I don't see anything wrong with that post. All it is doing is informing the general public about how to pick out a rep. I know I would be pissed if I paid out a crap ton of cash for a watch and it turned out to be a rep. It's better to be informed than uninformed and poorer with a rep on my arm. The only think I didn't like was the link to the photobucket account. What really pisses me off is when guys post watches for sale on eBay or other genuine watch sites trying to pass them off a real, now that is something to break out the rope and get the lynch mob saddled up and ready to go. Or how about all those guys posting items for sale here with RWI written on top of the paperwork. I'm sure none of us believe that all the pictures on this site, the reviews or our posts are "hidden" from everyone including the BIG bad companies out there making these watches. We have much bigger issues to deal with, like how much longer until we can get a 7753 in a PAM187 or a nice PAM194 made for me to buy.
  3. I have heard from many of my old buddies they got this watch. It looks like it has finally come of age (and price range) that most of us want one and we want it now. I'm holding out for the 7753 version, but I am interested to see how everyone likes this run of the 187. I hope there aren't any flaws and they can just slap in my 7753 movement in that case and call it good.
  4. I would think that they could get these into lower price ranges, but it will take a few months of everyone to cool off and for them to finally make more than a few of them. Who would have thought a few months ago we would see a ~$300 PAM187? Sure, when the 7753 comes out it will command a higher price, but in a few months we'll see them in the ~$300 range too (maybe a little higher for that movement, but you get the idea). The only thing that is bad with getting the first or even second run of some of these watches are you pay a HUGE price to be the first to get one and you also get all the flaws. By the time they get to the 2nd or even 3rd version they are 1/2 the price and 100% improved in the flaws. I jumped on a few first run watches and found myself with a watch I couldn't trade for 1/4 of what I got for it new. I would hope that if they used the 7753 movement they would take the new version of the 187 case and dial and just stick in the 7753 movement, but we all know that would make too much sense for our "workers" across the way from us. It would be nice for that to happen because we wouldn't have to go through all the growing pains of other first run watches and then it might be worth the price tag.
  5. Clive, you and your GMT's, how many you have now? You interested in an Airman 7? You can track 4 different time zones on that baby. When did you start to agree with me so much? I wonder why the rep makers are all over the 187, when they could make a 194 much easier and still get the number of sales they are for the 187 and maybe more because the cost would be much less. I guess they are afraid of the date mag issues.
  6. 7753 is worth the wait for me, the 7750 has had too many issues. My question is why can we make the 187 and not the 194? I would much rather have the 194 and not have to deal with all the chrono issues.
  7. Now you ruined it for the rest of us and the dealers will be charging around $900 for one of these. Or, they will charge just YOU $900 for the watch and the rest of us will pay $500.
  8. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a great one and many more to come.
  9. Good story, I've never had anyone act like that about my reps, but then again I have never gotten called out before. You should have asked him where he got his nice grade AAA+++ Swiss Italian made rep.
  10. Wow, you going to get your own dealer area too?
  11. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but..... I agree with TTK. There is said it. I would argue with USPS all day, you have shown enough proof to file a claim. Does the tracking show the date the watch was sent out? I've fought with USPS on their tracking system because there were many times when I would use the delivery confirmation and it never tracked or even showed a mailing date. So, basically I paid extra for a service that did not a damn thing for me, it wasn't an isolated incident either. They just said, "sorry, but it's not our problem", now that's customer service.
  12. Wow Birdman it looks like that poor little creature was squashed by that HUGE watch.
  13. Damn Daytona snobs.
  14. I have a few questions before I can give you an educated response: How old is this child? Is the child going to be unsupervised on the Internet? Does this person use AOL or broadband service? How much money does this person want to spend? Just a few questions to help "guide" our info.
  15. Why not, you can refer to it as a "she". Like, "Isn't she a sweet watch?" or "She's pretty sweet, huh?" or "She needs to go to the jeweler for a lube and a buffing".
  16. Now, we all know Rolex makes the best sub (I know I had to say it). I do like craytonic's list, but I always like the modern subs more, so I would put them on top even if they are less accurate.
  17. I guess I'm a "cross over" because I do own Panerai and I also have other watches I wear too. I have to say that since I bought my 44mm Panerai I tend to like larger watches now and so the PO, Glycine line and even my "beater" watches have all become larger than 40mm. I think I only own 1 watch that is smaller than 44mm, my Brietling Aerospace, it was my first "nice" watch and I don't see me getting rid of though it get a lot less wrist time than it used to get.
  18. Looked like a "regular" rotor to me, unless that was a super sized picture. It looks like that have some nice Panerai minus the crown guards. They are only $240 each, so not that bad of a price and they are 3 ATM water resistant.
  19. This is more of a general discussion post. No item for sale, so I'm moving it for you.
  20. Very cool story. At least you had a nice espresso, but you overpaid for the strap. You should have gotten yourself a nice strap from BOB or one of our dealers here.
  21. I'm not sure if I want to see that result.
  22. Though that sounds funny and a little gross, it should actually work. I guess you could take the strap and put it in your underwear and then run a 1/2 marathon on a sunny day and let it dry that way for a nice sweaty look too. I know that was much more gross.
  23. I don't wear a watch at all when I do a calisthenic workout because it gets in the way (push-ups, flutter kicks...). When I run I wear my Casio because I like to have a stopwatch or countdown timer going. When I do yard work or something like that I might wear a watch to break in a strap (as mentioned) or just put on my Casio, I don't want to scratch my watches anymore than I do normally wearing them around.
  24. That is pretty fugly and as mentioned the crown looks as thin as a potato chip.
  25. Any Railmaster XXL (2806.52.37)?
