  1. My mom can't wear quartz watches. She's not sure why, but she will wear it for less than a day and the battery is dead. I guess like most women (do to men) she just sucks the life out of that poor little battery. I'm not sure if she can wear mechanical watches though because she can only wear certain metals next to her skin too, now I know this may be tempting, but remember this is my mom, so lets try to keep the comments dignified.
  2. Nice comparison between the 2 cases. You are right about the lug differences. I had noticed that problem when I got a Davidsen case, I couldn't fit any decent straps onto that watch because they were all too thick. I was amazed at the weight differences between the crystals though. I didn't expect that much weight differences. Keep up the good and cool work.
  3. It looks great! Nice work with the aged look, I don't know if I would have the heart to do that to the Rolex movement though.
  4. Damn Pug, if you keep posting all these cool backgrounds I will fill up my hard drive with them! My computer is so confused because every day it has a new background, but keep it up I like it.
  5. Very cool and I like the dial too, very simple.
  6. I don't know about the watch, but the girl looks kind of like Kate Beckinsale. Kate Beckinsale Pictures & Bio
  7. They all are daily beaters, they are reps. I agree you can't go wrong with a nice PAM111, they have the locking crown (no stripping problem) and it looks nice too. I have a buddy (won't mention his name) who wears his PAM127 & PAM187 (both genuine) as his daily beaters, recently he told me a story of how he ripped off the white gold markers off the bezel of his PAM187 while working on his car. So, I guess it all depends on your budget what you consider your daily beater.
  8. I will have to agree with JTB and Pug, get a nice 111H. I love the new "smooth" movement and after a little modding you can have an excellent rep that will keep time as good as the real deal. If you can save your pennies I would get a genuine 111 or if you have a higher budget a PAM104. I have owned several genuine Panerai and they all grow on you and even the models you don't like will be in your collection before you know it (PAM024 for me). Let us know your budget for a genuine and maybe we can help you out more or you can get several reps and see what you really like from the 40, 44, 45, 47mm choices.
  9. Maybe TRC now stands for: Tax Resolution Center They don't have watches anymore, but if you have tax problems this is the place for you. I'm sure Thomas will get on it when he sees the problem, I remember they went through an upgrade too, so it's probably a problem with that.
  10. Well, I'll keep my finger crossed for either the 7753 PAM187 or the Ti PAM194 one of these days I might get one of these watches. I'm about ready to break down and just buy the real PAM194, they are going for $7600 and then at least I can have one to wear around.
  11. Wow, I've been gone for nearly 2 months and this project still isn't any further than the last time I checked. Maybe we can start working on a nice 194 in actual Ti, it would have to be easier (and faster) than this project has been moving.
  12. I would still like to see a nice PAM194 in titanium.
  13. I'm going to say they are watch movements, used in watches that keep time, probably manual wind watches. Do I win a prize? I'm sure someone will help you out, there are some pretty smart people on this forum, I'm not one of them though.
  14. This has to be some kind of record, can anyone beat the 40K thing? Where's Jetmid when you need him, he had to have the internet on his private jet and it probably skipped across the atmosphere at mach 7 and had a T1 connection or maybe a direct satellite link with NASA or something.
  15. I don't go there, but I'm glad there are other options to RWI as well.
  16. Yes, you are right. I also remember as part of his court order he wasn't to have any dealings with replica watches, according to him. Anyway, he started off by "trading" members for various things, like straps and things like that. Then he moved on to have members buy him watches and then he would pay them back, I've heard of several members who never got all their money or the trades went bad, basically he was wither short changing the buys or giving out lower quality items than described in the trades. Anyway, I can't recommend anyone dealing with Bryan, it's a craps shoot as to how it will turn out for you.
  17. Thank you all for the kind words, it's nice to know the admin team's work is appreciated. Without the members this place would be very boring, so thank you to all the membership here who make this place what it is too.
  18. I don't know if I've ever really been called out, I usually just tell people they are reps. If someones being an ass about it, then I just let them wonder. Even most AD's don't say much about my watches because I have a lot of genuine too.
  19. Well, I have to say you had me really worried when I first saw your title, but I'm glad it was good work. Ziggy is the best there is out there and a true asset to the community. I'm glad you like your work and I'm glad to have Ziggy in our little community.
  20. Ok, I mean a titanium version (accurate). Thanks for the heads-up too though, I've been unable to visit much over the past few months. I'm making the most of it while I can today. Although, since upgrading to the auto renewal RWG supporter payment plan, I've become un-moderatored.
  21. If it wasn't a Tuesday I might have been able to make it, but getting across the border is a pain lately, even on weekdays.
  22. Congrats! I'm still thinking about getting one, but I'm half holding out for a PAM194 to surface sometime (please).
  23. Looks good to me, nice work! BTW, I sent you a PM, let me know.....
  24. Ok, now I'll take credit for all of this because I've been a moderator on both RWG's for nearly 2 years now and that's a lot of work. Actually we can give Thomas credit over all of us for starting this forum and to Blade for starting RWG #1 and then credit back to Thomas for starting TRC many years ago, so there's a lot of credit to spread, but no PAM187 with the 7753 on my wrist, so who's taking the blame for that?
  25. I've been gone for nearly 3 weeks and no word on the 187?
