  1. Well, it turns out my job requires me to travel to Japan for around the next 4 months. I leave on Monday, my wife is not happy. I will try to visit as much as I can while I'm gone, but I don't know how the Internet connections will work out. Anyway, just wanted to let the membership know what happened to me if you don't see me around as much as usual. I'm sure everything will be fine since we have a great admin team here, so have fun and I'll visit as much as I can. BTW anyone who knows much about the islands of Japan and wants to give me some pointers feel free, especially if you know of some sweet watch deals I need to check out.
  2. Goodbye Thomas you will be missed. Sorry to hear you are leaving and though this is a sad moment, I know you'll come back some day (they all do).
  3. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a great day and many more to come. Enjoy yourself and be sure to treat yourself to something nice or maybe have someone else treat you instead.
  4. I never expected to see a PP available from Costco. I guess they have a nice selection of artwork too according to my wife.
  5. Cool video. I'm willing to bet that the beekeepers don't like the giant hornet. Your next video should be "can 1 beekeeper kill 30 giant hornets". I'm wondering how these hornets would fare versus a hive of killer bees, maybe that's the answer to those bees moving into the US.
  6. you just have to keep your eyes open and surf the TZ sales forum. I've scored a few good deals on that site, but you have to be patient and wait for the deal to come along and pounce on it quickly before someone else gets in there. You can also find a watch in the price range you like and then work on the seller, they will usually come down in price if they knew you want the watch and are ready to buy. I saw a few PO on there recently, didn't check them out because I already have one (love it BTW, one of my favorite watches). If I see any good offers I'll let you know, but don't forget half the fun is the search for the perfect watch because once you find it then you'll want something different (I know this all too well).
  7. That thing is sweet looking and no one can't say it's not a real dive watch. I know I'll never got 12000' below the water, I rarely hit 120'. I didn't see a model number or anything, so I can't find a price, but I'll keep looking.
  8. Here are a few I own or have owned: Omega PO 45mm: PAM024: Rolex Submariner:
  9. Looks like we can add hippo to the list. Don has a a few offered on Paneristi: Don's Hippo Strap
  10. @Clive, I did have pig on my list, but took it off because I have never heard of anyone wearing a pig skin strap. I guess the pork rind strap never took off like they had hoped. And you forgot to mention eel.
  11. Alligators are bread for their hides and meat in the US (Louisiana). I'm guessing that other species like ostrich and maybe snakes could be considered bread for "consumption" of one sort or another. I don't know if they can have farm raised stingrays too, but I guess it's possible.
  12. Since this seemed to be a popular topic on the sales forum, I thought I would bring it out here for an open discussion. How do you all feel about straps made from exotic (or cute) animals? Would you buy a strap made from: Buffalo (Bison) Stingray Shark Elephant Horse Cow (calf) Goat Alligator Crocodile I have or have straps made from cow, horse, shark, elephant, croc, gator and buffalo. Does that make me a bad person? I have different feelings on some of the exotic animals, like the elephant. I guess if it was "collected" legally then I don't feel bad about the use of the whole animal. What I don't like to see is an animal used for a small part and thrown away, shark fins come to mind. I also love horses, but they do make a nice leather strap too and I know in some countries they eat horse (not in the US). Anyway, I figured there would be a lot of opinions on this and I want people to be able to discuss this too.....
  13. I had a feeling you were on his side on that argument, but then you would have been against clive.
  14. I do like the box though. It doesn't say what size it is, looks kinda small.
  15. I wouldn't loose any sleep over this. After all there are people out there who say they hate replica owners, send out letters and then turn around and offer us rep owners exclusive deals on their wares. Then they come along steals another person's name and uses it for profit and they are still around to talk crap to everyone. I would say there are much worse things to talk about. Who really cares if you own both a genuine and rep 187!?!?
  16. Don't worry we are cleaning up the mess right now, all should be "normal" in a few minutes.
  17. You better look out your window for PETA or Gerco, I think the rare buffalo is more endangered than the stingray.
  18. What?!?
  19. Well, I can say this is a very interesting thread. Faker, I hope you do enjoy your new "real" watch and it pulls you away from all of us overreacting, insulting and threatening people. This post is so close to being Bin material, I'll let it go for a bit longer and maybe we can get some "sensible" people in here to post and see how they feel about your long history here, Faker.
  20. Anyone looking for a genuine can grab one here: TZ Omega PO Chrono This is the first one I've seen for sale from a private person. I'm sure they will come down in price though.
  21. Wow, we've nearly broken this whole case wide open, we've managed to track everyone involved with this guy down.
  22. He was nice enough to give us his IP though, makes it so much easier to: Block him Find out who he is See if it's a person with more than one account See if it's a person from another forum we know It was nice of them to come here and inform us after their 2nd post they are leaving us, what a shame to loose such an ASSet to the community.
  23. I've been looking for a real one of these in the jewelry stores, but no luck so far. I think the chrono version is very cool looking, maybe I'll get one of these myself (4th version of course).
  24. Well, you have to do what you have to do.....
  25. Wow, glad to see so many people have had a great experience with their PVD's. I can't claim the same thing, but I won't comment on it too much because Davidsen is still trying to work it all out for me. I can say he has great customer service and responds to e-mails very quickly. I just wish I had a watch I could enjoy. There are a few things I have noticed about the watches, the dials look great and though the PVD isn't perfect it is the best I have seen so far. My watch keeps great time, it looks very nice and the case back wasn't 100% correct, but still nice. The lume on the dial is ok, but the hands glow brightly (like the pictures). Some major flaws that probably won't be fixed are the lug size, they are too small and mine were drilled close to the case, so any quality thick straps won't fit on my watch and I can't even use tubes on the thin straps. Like I mentioned mine is still a work in progress, so we'll see how this all plays out and I won't comment on some of the other problems.
