  1. Italian customs have always been highly anti-rep. You need to ship to a friendlier country in the EU then get it reshipped to Italy.
  2. A new week, an old watch. In celebration of the release of the Aquatimer Chrono, I will be wearing its predecessor, my IWC GST Chrono.
  3. Slightly convex, yes. Or, you could say curved.
  4. Scams that take place here are not taking place here because of the forum. Losses on RWG1 were directly caused by the forum and its management or lack thereof. This isn't a pissing match, by the way.
  5. It would also be interesting to know how many people lost money through either the RWG watch fiasco or the password sniffer that stole a few peoples' Paypal details. RWG1 died when Blade left and doomed it to an unmanaged security liability. fyi, I, for one, came here via TRC, not RWG1.
  6. I am used to using a PSP for videos so it's no different.
  7. I use the iPod part daily, especially for watching movies. I commute an hour each way by bus and train and I get to watch an episode of something in the morning and something else in the evening. Using iPhone-specific h264 videos, I can get a 45-minute episode (A one-hour US show) down to 200MB in perfectly decent quality. When I get off the train and walk the last bit, something like ENVY, Nine Inch Nails, Mogwai or PJ Harvey will wake me up enough to start a day at work. I realise that this is just me, but my iPhone has replaced my phone, PSP, book and iPod. When I previously carried a small messenger bag, I now carry a phone.
  8. I will comment when mine arrives and I can see it under controlled lighting.
  9. Cheers for that. I hope the QC is better on the rest of the batch, eh? The rest looks promising. I'll just examine the photos in detail ...
  10. Amazing use for it. I approve. It's great that the old clock can be put back into active service, even if it is civilian.
  11. Before we go any further, do you mean it clicks off at 1/4 seconds? This is normal and is the desired behaviour.
  12. <pedant>Quoting entire posts including pictures neither slows down downloads nor causes threads to spill onto other pages. All it does is makes the thread less readable.</pedant>
  13. It must be something you have a problem with as I find it significantly easier to use than any other mobile device. The keyboard is decent and the predictive spelling assist makes it actually usable. Would it surprise you to learn this post was done from the iPhone?
  14. Yellow Stitch looks good. Maybe you could try a butter/cream colour to match the lume on certain PAMs.
  15. I can make her rotate both ways, but a pendulum is the easiest to visualise. Pausing the video isn't necessary.
  16. Saturday, it's the right kind of day for Il Brutto.
  17. Just like we've been expecting a perfect Sub and an Aquatimer Chrono rep? Sure, wait if you want. I'll be over here, chilling out with a hunk-o-swiss on my wrist.
  18. Thanks for the warning, The Zigmeister!
  19. The cheap ones come with no AR and Mineral Glass instead of Sapphire. Get the expensive one.
  20. You may be better off removing the tube as you need to grind down at its base. I say remove the tube and replace it with gen. That way you get a better tube, better CGs and no risks.
  21. I just noticed this thread. Stereo Butcher Cover? That's $10,000 right there. The one in the pic is the Mono though, right?
  22. Um ... you have a "Butcher Cover"? Is that first or third state? Or is it, like the Daytona, a replica?
  23. The problem with pricing comes with rare watches. I had serious problems pricing my Speedy, for instance, and had lots of PMs for a "fair price" that was half of what I sold it for in the end.
  24. I now suffer from Menieres Disease and it could be related to the number of concerts I've been to and the fact I spent the 80s with headphones in my ears. There are certain frequencies I can not hear in one of my ears, like if I pick up a phone to my right ear, I only hear certain harmonics of the dial tone (on certain phones) yet when my ears are tested in a controlled environment, my hearing is "excellent". So yes, I recommend earplugs for the loud ones. ps. I too am not going to mention all the gigs I've been to for privacy reasons. I have family/friends in some lesser-known local bands.
