  1. Welcome to the forum. I look forward to your participation in the myriad of discussions here.
  2. I'd suggest this would destroy the simplicity of the design.
  3. My brother read this reply over my shoulder and said in a graven voice "No, you will not" so, unless he has a rather unfortunate nasty accident before I leave, then no.
  4. Thanks. I'll have to do a whole new photoshoot of it soon ... How about a range of hi-res desktops?
  5. We're just off for lunch and to MBK where I'll look for a Rolex caseback tool.
  6. Last day in BKK.
  7. ps. Ethel Merman
  8. How many threads to get here, and you veil it in quotes and SMS-Speak? Still, as you said, there are only four watches overdue, so it's not so bad any more.
  9. Only four overdue watches outstanding? That's not that bad at all then!
  10. ... and not wanting to seem like a GA-shipper (I'm not, I just tend to remember [censored] ... ) but Derek was described as having a $2 million per year hand when he punched some bloke, so I assume a Daytona isn't out of reach.
  11. Can the chief cardio-thorasic surgeon at Seattle Grace afford a Panerai? I still say he can. Not wanting to dwell too much on a fictional character, but he's a well-paid until-recently single man without extravagant habits.
  12. Even a surgical resident?
  13. I've got me some tickets ... sorry if I win.
  14. MY EYES!!!
  15. True dat.
  16. The simplicity is one of the things that appeals to me, and one reason I'm not too fond of the Ingie. The GST and PortoChrono are, in my opinion, such clean, well-balanced designs that their simplicity is their strength.
  17. Burke's Panerai was seen last season too:
  18. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it." - Ferris Bueller
  19. You can at least be assured he had great taste. My condolences.

The whole thing was a cluster[censored] from day one. Gran has a little bit of liability, but only incidentally. Blade is, and has been since way back before I started on the boards, a dangerous rip-off artist who caused several people financial harm by selling access to his database (imho) and has nothing but my contempt. I was against donating to the rescue funds and, in hindsight, this seems like an acceptable stance. I hold people like Kenberg in the highest esteem and it is painful that he's at the rusty end of the nail. I'd do anything non-financial to help.
  21. ... and following the visit to the Seiko Service Centre, I dropped off my Orange Monster (runs fast, cheap to get serviced/cleaned here in BKK, even if my bro needs to post it to me when it's done) and picked up my SKX031 which was cleaned, serviced, water-resistanted and had new hands, seals and balance wheel fitted. All for under $30. ... and here I am, sticking it out of my brother's window, into a tropical rainstorm:

Jesus, won't this debacle ever end?
  23. ... then how come this is the only picture of it that's ever been shown?
  24. Did we ever ascertain if this was a real advert concept or, as I suspected, a photoshop mock-up?
