  1. It's ok if you like Quartz ... What's the price?
  2. Sapphire. I await the results of your enquiries.
  3. http://www.brookmyre.co.uk/short3.htm
  4. I think I may get disowned by my Celtic-loving in-laws if I went to a Rangers game.
  5. I'd do the maths. Is it worth paying $80 to be a smartarse? If so, pay away. It's not for me, though. No matter how much you get out of a meeting like that, your wallet is lighter for it. If someone is going to charge me for getting f*cked, she'd better have big [censored].
  6. WTF? 52GB? Oh, I see. It has all the apps in it. Are you sure you need them all? Seeing as it requires dual-layer DVDs, I don't get enough of a success rate burning them to make it worthwhile. Sorry.
  7. My crown has lasted almost two years. It's not got much life left in it though - it feels as if it's going to strip in the next few months.
  8. Maybe you should reread the article. I'm not saying his administration was solely responsible, but it was the start. As a side note, are you aware that most of the biggest subprime lenders weren't actually banks, and therefore weren't covered by the CRA that is usually the conservative's choice of what to blame? The whole thing was doomed as soon as the 80s boom started.
  9. It's what you wanted. It's what Reagan gave you after you cried out for it. Too much regulation was cramping your style, you said. Yeah, everyone should have seen it, but like chain letters, they hoped they'd cash out before the chain was broken.
  10. It's great to see this thread is done and dusted.
  11. Excellent to see someone doing a bit of "Live in New York '77". I wonder if LP prices have dropped low enough for me to fill the gaps in my Zappa vinyl collection.
  12. Well, that's not something I disagree with. The whole Faraday Cage distraction should have been avoided if your point was that black market mobiles don't have safety as a priority.
  13. I drink for fun, not competition, but I'd gladly have a go.
  14. My god. You pull me up over the term soccer and then you call Bud a man's drink! It's like sex in a boat - f*cking close to water.
  15. Here's the science lesson for dummies condensed into a paragraph: If a Faraday Cage is in effect, 100% of the signal is blocked. It's an on/off deal. If you get a signal, the Faraday Cage doesn't work at that frequency. If you don't get a signal, it's working. Lightning will strike the outside of a car, plane or train and leave the passengers intact, yet the gaps (windows) in the metal frames allow really high frequencies in. Come on, how on earth can GPS work on an iPhone in a car if you're sat in a Faraday Cage? Think about it. If you're going to use science to explain something, at least have a basic understanding before you post something controversial and scary. ps. The link that proposed the horror story, was it by any chance selling something? That should be a give-away to at least check google/wikipedia before telling us we're cooking ourselves.
  16. See what happens when you demand a yes/no answer to a complex question?
  17. If the Faraday cage effect were that significant, the signal wouldn't get in the car. QED. Edit: Oh, go on. I'll make it easier for you. Google skin effect.
  18. It's the thin edge of a wedge. If you don't actively defend your trademarks, you lose them. You can't really blame Rolex for this, much like you can't blame them for getting lawyers on replica sellers.
  19. Sorry for the picture repeats, but here's a lumpy Breitling.
  20. I love the leprosy on the first strap. Very organic.
  21. I'm a reverend and I am not religious. I've never performed a wedding, but I can.
