  1. Congratulations Mike. You are thright fellow for the job.
  2. Congratulations: what a great looking Memobox. Would you share some information about it ? I'm sorry I did not want my comment "on" your post. I know better now where to write comments without interfering the original póst. Congratulations again for that beauty.
  3. Here's mine. dates back to 1968. Mint, bought in Buenos Aires thre years ago. One of my three gens.
  4. That's a great watch , with much presence. It inspires a lot of respect.
  5. I was receiving updates from the thread on my email account until something happened and they stopped. How can I reverse this, so as to enjoy those again ?
  6. Thank you for your comment. That was the idea kernow; straping this near 200 grams piece back to my wrist, and it worked. I wear the Ingi quite regularly, but not for long periods, as my wrist is rather small and I tend to bump my desk with it quite often. Cheers !!!
  7. After all these years this is one of my three favorite watches. In lieu of the original clasp (the release system broke) I replaced it with this, taken from a spare Seiko bracelet.
  8. Thank you Rick and Sogeha for your comments on my question. Both bring different perspectives on the matter, which means learning something new in this business. You are right about havinge been around quite sometime in this game ,but I had never heard about the term friend money in all this time. I know now this is a common practice and I should not be that afarid of a scam. Unless this man decides not to send the watch once he receives the funds. It's a $65 deal, so no big risk, but I'll still think a little about it, before I buy. Many thanks you guys.
  9. I feel quite ridiculous asking this question, but can you tell me the meaning of friending money by paypal ? I'm thinking of buying a watch on ebay, and this guy comes asking me to friend him the money. He says if I want the watch shipped to Chile I'll have to trust him. He says he'll send the watch shipped with tracking, to avoid the chance of the wattch being lost in the mail and loosing his watch (money) when ebay potentially would refund me for the loss. . Am paranoid about this deal thinking it's a scam ? or is it a common thing in watch trade in the internet ? Thank you for reading my question
  10. I prefer the older format. A thread with thousands of repleies tuns me off, specially when it comes to wrist shots. Here's my contribution for today. The AP Royal Oak. An icon in contemporary horology.
  11. Thank you Ogeda. I will certainly get back to you about that tip for UK/Europe purchases when I decide where I'll buy my next piece.
  12. Hi Sogeha: Thank you for the tip. I received a message from someone who probably read the posting and he says he has one that he may sell. I just asked him to share some pics. I'll see what happens. I'll keep you posted. Thank you much for the contact. Jaime
  13. Hi: I'm in the meddle looking for a quartz Royal Oak 39 mm. I have a few dozen replica watches and most of them are auto. Being incresingly difficult finding qualified watch makers for servicing mechanical and automatic replica watches - no one wants to touch them inmy town - I am looking for quartz replacements for some of my favorites, among which is the RO. 37 mm ( if not available, I'll take a 39) can ssomeone sguggest a dealer that sell quartz reps of decent quality ? I you know, would you please give me some advice ? Gratefully yours Alter
  14. I'll keep your interest in mind when it comes to sell or trade it. This will depend on how comfortable the watch feels on the wrist.I have other rep watches for sale now (IWC,Rollies,Omegas, and the like. Send me a message if interested. Thank you all for your positive views. I already bought the watch. I'll post pics asoon as I get it.
  15. Thank you panerai 153 for your comment. Well, I like the watch and hopefully when I sell it (that's what we usually do to finance new purchaases) I hope to get a little more tha 300. That's what I did with a Davosa Sub I bought about tree years ago. Good watch, ETA 7750 and superb case and bracelet. It sold for 450. Thank aghain you for your comment. It's good to have both our feet on the ground when it comes to purchasing "unknown" brand watches.
  16. Hi mate: That's exactly the watch. The one I have my eyes on has an orange dial and the same strap. I love the watch. With a 750 Swiss val movement and that wonderful case you can't go wrong. I think I'll buy it, for about the same I'd have to pay for a Rollie or Omega super rep. Great pic !!! Cheers.
  17. Hi. I'm thinkingof buying a Limeas Chrono 1 tousend on ebay. It seems a like a very decent watchfor the price. Abouy $ 600. What do you guys think. Alter
  18. Hi ssteel. It's not there either. Quite extrange. He said he'd send me another invoice. We'll see what happens. Thank you again for your generous help.- Jaime
  19. Thank you for the tip Powermax. I checked my email inbox and there is nothing from Paypal in it. I emailed the seller telling him about this. I haven't heard from him yet. I hope he'll have something to say. It's a beautiful watch and I'd hate to miss thisopportunity to own a Swiss made classic.
  20. Hi: This is a very silly question and I hope someone can give me hand on this problem. Where do I look for (or find) a "new" invoice sent by the seller to change the original Pay Now bcause the post charges to my country was missing. The seller has sent the new invoice (he says) but where do I find it ? I don't see it anywhere near the Pay Now option in the purchases section of my account, nor in the pay pal check out screen. I'm buying a fantastic gen vintage MIdo Ocean Star for my gen collection and I'm stuck with this transaction. Thank you for reading my question and hopefully for your help. Best
  21. These thread reflects what could be called extremely opposed philosophies. On the one hand there is the aesthetic approach, which foucusses on the overall image and on the other hand the purits approach, which is the rule of thumb in forums like this; that is your watch must be as close to the gen as possible. That´s why we have super replicas, franken and genstein watches, for which people are ready to ask as much a 8K. All in all, unless one has 10.000/15.000 K to buy a gen, both collectors are right, as no one has ever said the last word in terms of taste and satisfaction when collectiong replicas.
  22. Sory, I forgot to attcach it as the phone rang while on it. Here it iscartier stirrup.docxcartier stirrup.docx
  23. Hi all: I wonder if someone may have seen a replica of this beautiful Catier. Sorry I forgot to attach the pic. cartier stirrup.docx
  24. I think your pic is one one the best I've seen in the forum. Congrats for your sense of balance and perspective, when it came to represent Rolex essence. That is, pure beauty.
