  1. That's too bad. Hopefully the TD will honor the principle of replacing the watches if they were confiscated by Customs. Make sure they do not incur in the same error of shipping them in one package this time. Best luck
  2. Wonderful job. Besides being a very nice looking watch, it's a limited edition and you own the one and only piece in the series.
  3. Good suggestrion. I'll post an update as soon as I hear from him.
  4. I agree. This is a tricky world and it's better being cautious than naive. As you probably noticed in another thread I started yesterday, a friend was ripped off when impulsively bought a 6538 frankedn rep he though was a gen. I don't know how much paid for it, but I'm sure he paid a few grand for it and I'm afraid hel'll never get his money back from the inescrupulous seller.
  5. Thank you all for your honest opinions about this watch. I´ll let Sergio know your assessments and I don't know how to approach this, since he told me later he had already bought the watch before he sent the pics to me.
  6. Hi: I'm posting this question on behalf of a friend who doesn't speak English, but has a consideraable buying power. I told him about a 6538 I had senn in Miami, in February during my vacation. This was on Flaggler St. its asking price being $ 35.000. The store owner did not allow to take pictures that I could use now to compare. Well, to make the story short, six months later, my friend sends me an e mail saying he found a 6538, and he can have it for ten grand. I told him it was a very good price, depending on a close inspection, so as to make sure it was the real thing and not rep or Franken. So as he has no plans to travel 1.500 mildes and visit me, he sent me these pics (por quality but still can give us some idea of the watch) which I share, hoping they generate some opinions that I can share with Sergio, my friend. Here they are: I know. no movement pics but ... I hope case, strap and dial should tell something ...
  7. Thank you all: I paid the fee and the watch is on its way.
  8. I agree with you one hundred per cent. In my case it was Pink Floyd and "Wish you were here" is a tune that's present every day in my life since it came out, back in the 1975.
  9. Thank you both for the tip. I tried and surprisinly the option "sending money" which is the starting pointo for choosing friends and family versus Payment is not in the bar. Right next to ACCOUNT the only option is sending payment. As I'm accessing PP from South America I wonder if PayPal has different option policies for different parts in the world. What is bothering me is that I have to satisfy the sller's request for sending the payment as "gift", so as to avoid paying the fees.
  10. Hello. I'm purchasing watch from a forum member and he asked me to send the funds as "gift." I have no clue about this and I'd be thankful if somebody would comment or PM me about how to do it. Thank you
  11. The transition (fat hours and sapphire crystal ) Sub.
  12. I was reading a thread on the watch trade section a few days back and there was this brother selling a bunch of replica watches to finance the purchase of an Apple smart watch. I never expected or even thought about spending a lot of money on a virtual watch but the fact is, they are quite attractive. I bet many people in this forum are or eventually will be tempted to take the plunge. So the question is has someone heard about plans by the rep factories for replicating this watch so we can wait until these come out ? I'm already considering buying myself one of these almost watches for Christmas.
  13. I know it's really very modest compared to what's been posted here but, this is my first step in the quest for the perfect 6238
  14. Nice watch. It's curious how we see Yatchmaster/Thunderbird inspired bezels more and more in watches by manufacturers that aledgedly "compete" with Rolex.
  15. Hi Cavi: By now you may have noticed that quartz watches are not much of a theme here. This is a replica forum and very few (if any) quartz watches are replicated. The reason is simple. No quartz watches (if any again) have reached the "classic" status that is required to be emulated by the replica industry. Now, going back to your question, is an Asian 7750 better choice than a quartz movement in your chrono ? That depends. If you want a replica watch as close to the original you'll have to go automatic (Asian or Russian). But if you want accuracy and reliability you may want to forget about 7750, which will sooner or later give you one or two headaches. A cheap Miyota or Ronda quartz movement in your rep will run trouble free for years and years before it needs being "serviced" or replaced for about 30 to 40 bucks (parts and labor). Hope my humble opinion helps you. Cheers !!!
  16. Sorry I'm dyslexic this morning ("though")
