  1. I'm looking foe some information about the watch and if there is a replica of this ladies classic Cartier
  2. Hi GenTLe: Thank you for your comment on my question. I think there should be no problem i purchasing the watch if this is going to work as an analog quartz watch, regardless tyhe proximity of the radio signal. My concern is if the Citizen will work without a close signal, as your Casio does. Cheers ! Alter
  3. Dear fellow members. I am in love with a new watch. This is a gen Citizen Chrono Time with radio controlled adjustmwent. (AT) The watch is beautiful and I'd like to get one but I don't know if this will work fine in zones where there is not an atomic clock to send the signal to it. I know there is an atomich clock in the USAas well as in Europe and Japan, but, what about if I travel to other parts of the world ? I'd be very be happy to hear some tips on this matter, before I take the plungo, which is not that deep ($ 895 retail for a quartz watch) but which I cpuld spend in one of those super reps that one see in the Trade section of the forum. Thank you for reading my question and I hope to get some answers. Cheers Alter
  4. Bach Cello Suites by Yo Yo ma. Great music for serious listening as well as for relaxing.
  5. As atated bellow, sometimes one would sell the gen to buy another gen. Although I never thought of it until I did this six weeks ago. I sold my gen 1016 so as to buy myself a MINI Cooper. I'm totally happy with my decision, even knowing that I may never have such a classic on my wrist again.
  6. Thank you for your comment. I thought it was Angus' site, as it's very similar. Prices are lower than Puretime's though. I'm looking for a cartier Ballon Bleu and there is a $100 dollar difference on the auomatic Swis ETA, offered by this site. Check it out
  7. Is Pure Replica a new name for Puretime dealer ?
  8. Thank you all for your comments on my question I know it's a metter of personal decision and funds. I would never spend 4/5 K on a gen explorer like the rep I own. IBut I own a few gen watches, which I enjoy a lot, among these a Explorer 1016, which I bought at a rediculous price ($1.200) from a retiring watchmaker. I also own a gen 1675 GMT and Perpetual Date mod. 1500, an Omega Chronostop, a Tudor Submariner, a MIdo Ocean Star, two longines and a Doxa 750. My rep collection of about 30 watches include six Rolex Subs, aBreguet Aeronavale, a Rolex Oysterquartz, a few Panerai, IWC Ingenieur, Patek Nautilus, Blancpain Flywheel, Omega Speedmaster, Rolex Daytona and many others. At this point I think I'll wait in case I run into an exceptional rep or a rare gen at an afordable price. ( Eberhard Chrono, Zith El Primero or 40 mm Panerai Radiomir) Here's a pic of my Explorer with the "correct" strap, without SEL.
  9. End of the year and wiht Christmas around the corner, the question is always there, should I buy aanother rep to treat myself or save to purchase a nice gen watch ? Here is one of my my latest purchases. Very moderately priced ($ 150) an od school Explorer II. It maybe not a perfect copy of the original, but I consider a fair rep. I'd have to spend 20 plus times the amount I paid for it if I want a gen on my wrist. Cheers !!! Alter
  10. Hi: I just want to mention the Davosa (Yatchmaster tribute) THis is a solid well built and Swiss ETA powered diver that you can purchase for half the MSRP of $ 550, if you know where to look for one. I love mine.
  11. Allman Brothers - Whipping Post, 9/23/70 HQ I rarely listen to music while on the forum. Nice combination. Thank you for reminding us this option open to anyone these days.
  12. Thank you: I really love this watch I saw it first (gen) in Montecarlo in the late 90's. Quite expensive watch then and now. The first replica I got from a TD and sadly was stolen a few months later. This one I bought from a fellow member on this board early this year. I don't think they produde this model anymore (gen or rep). The current version is larger (42mm) and has a date at 6. It is called the Transatlantique.
  13. I need only one morelink. I took the picture with the clasp in the open positon so as to fit the watch on the cushion for the pic. I shuld have warned readers about this. Only one more link and I'l be happy. Cheers.
  14. If you bought from a trusted dealer, there should no rpblem. This is something that happens sometimes. The dealer sent you a pic of the watch you ordered so as to confirm that's what you want. If you thougth the watch was scratched, you have all th rightto ask for fresh piece be delivered. Now and then the dealers will have to source a new watch and that's which takes time and patience on the part of the buyer. If you ordered the watch 10 days ago, that's not such a long time to ait, when they are working on a solution for the conflict . Give the dealer time to solve the problem and in a few days you'll hear feom him, hopefully giving you good news about the your purchase.
  15. I need an extra link for my Nautilus bracelet. I've put a couple of extra punds and being on a diet is not enough when it comes to fitting this beauty on my wrist. Help me please.
  16. Thank you all for your comments on m,y Daytona. This information has made me consider improve this copy, so as to bring it a little closer to the original. i think I can live with the bracelet and crystal, but I definitely need to do something about the dial, the crown and sub second hands. I will not reveal the name of the dealer I got the watch from, but it's one of the most trusted dealers in this and other forums. It seems the Daytona with a Venus movement is the one with cheap dial and crown. I saw some other versions (not the white Panda with black subs) with 7750 movements sporting a much more credible dial, but that's been all I¡'ve done sofar. I'll keep you posted about my quest for dial and crown. Best Alter
  17. Thank you all for your comments on my Daytona. In fact, your remarks are a great starting point to turn this copy into a better replica. I have never been very fond of the Daytona, but the vintage version somehow made me change my mind about this classic. I know I need a new dial -would someone
  18. Can you be more explicit ? I noticed the crown is oversized, the strap is not right and the dial looks pretty cheap. But I guess there are a lot of other things that I cannot "see." Pleaser, don't be bashful. I'm not the type of person who will trake comments as personal offense. Thanks again for your comments
  19. Hi fellow members: I have a question that's open to anyone who is willing to help me judge the accuracy and quality of my Daytona. In you opinion, what right and wrong with this replica ? Please, fel free to very very honest in your comments. All I want to know is if this is a fair replica of the classic original that can fetch up to 30 k in auctions around the world. I can¡t wait to hear from you. Best. Alter
  20. It's the rotor. Unless the two watches came with loosed movements, which is uncommon. I had a Breitling with an Asian 7750 and you could feel the rotor oscilating , which gave you a strange sensation on the wrist. The watch was heavy and the rotor movement exerted a noticeable force on the whole watch as it turned. I sold the dam thing. I'd the watches alone, unless you start hearing a noise maracas played by a salsa band.
  21. I don't intend to question the point of prasing replicas that are extremelely accurate copies of the originals. Nevertheless, in my humble opinion "super" is a ... "superlative" that goes a little too far, which at some point can lead some of us to consideer the rep, an equivalent of the genuine watch. Although some theoreticians posit that sometimes the copy superceeds or surpaces the original, a replica still is a replica. So why not just say that this or that watch is a top replica instead ? To be fair, although I truly believe what I said before, I must admit I have not had the chance to hold a "super" rep of the list in my hands.
