  1. You have been lucky receiving so much input for your question. It used to be that replies to your question would be answered with remarks like:"do your homework", "do some reserach first", "plenty of trusted dealers in that section of the forum." I think the honest and humble nature of your quetion did the trick. I think if you follow the suggestions in the thread yo can't go wrong. Good luck in your search !!!
  2. Stunning Sub Freddy. One of the best I've ever seen in this forum.
  3. Not a bad idea. The only problem I see with it is that the way iit goes in this hobby, once you rent the gen, you'll be limited in your "choice" range for future trial watches - rented or not - thus freezing the number of watches you can "own," as the cost of the gen(s) - let's say 4/8 K - will definitely deplete the funds you spend today in the always generous rep options available in the market. . Unless, of course, that you have so many reps, and you are so bored with them, that you feel you are ready for the real "one thing," that you know you want to keep for life.
  4. Dear friend. I think your question can be answered in different ways . You have a movement (motor) nut not the (car) body. Depending on what you spent in the movement, I' say it would be easier to explore the Australian market in search of an AU 300. These watches are built with 100% gen parts, by people who somehow had access to literally humndreds if not thousands of Omega parts, and put together watches that are 100% gen, except fo their assembly plant. I owned one which I regretfully sold a few years back, for a little more tah 2 K. my 002 cent contribution for an answer to your question
  5. I wonder if there are any reps that could be considered as "Limited Editions," other than those built by masters, pieces which all of us would like to have in our collections.
  6. Old school AP Royal Oak (ca 2003)
  7. Ingenieur on a sunny early Spring day, here in the Southern Cone
  8. Pretty modest in my immediate urge: Swatch Irony YCS 433
  9. Thank you all for your comments. I shoot with a Samsung PL140 which is a basic point and shoot, but as you say, it may be that I am not using it properly. I'll take the time to read the manual and I'll try shooting more pics. After reading your comments I realize I should take not two or three pics but two or three dozens, until I hit the right ones. I'll post new pics in a week or so, and you can judge my work. Cheers.
  10. Whenever upload a pic on the daily wristies shots thread I feel ebarrased by the high quality of most pics compared to mine. A few days ago smebody mentioned the need of a "real camera" so as to increase the quality. I used to have a fim Minolta with all the accesories (including filters) that probably could do the job, but, digital photography changed everything. I still would like to have a good digicamera, without spending too much, so as to keep my rep collection updated.
  11. Those are two beauties AJ. Wear them in good health.
  12. I'd love to receive my purchase in five days but Customs is quite strict in this country when it comes to processing packages that are shipped paying premium shipping. They asume that if you are willing to pay more than $ 50 for a 200 gams envelope, the content must worth a lot more, so they go for import duty (10%) and VAT (20%) collection, which results in thorough inspections, which is a very bad thing when you are importing a rep. I envy both in a very positive way Cheers !
  13. Whatever one can say on his behalf is not enough. I had te chance to experience his commitment to customer satisfaction when a watch he sent me using DHL went directly to Customs. I had explicitely asked in my order NOT TO SHIP VIA DHL OR FEDEX because of 99.9 % Customs risk . Unfortunately - despite my request - someone did the opposite and the watch was seized. I wrote an email to Andrew, which he immediately aswered saying he'd do his best to sort out the situation. After about 10 days emailing back and forth, he sent me a new watch. Yes, you can absolutely trust this man. Something I couldn't say about quite a few so called "ADs."
  14. Solar powered Citizen on this bright sunny afternoon.
  15. It was a great forum. I bought my first reps from ssome members of that forum . Among them I remember names like, Richard Laughton, Dudro and many others. Where are you guys these days ???
  16. Not an easy find. That movement size is ussualy mechanical, not auto. You can always put a smaller movement in the case, if you can find an adapting rings to fill the size gap.
  17. Exactly. I mean the 5512. Sorry, I guess there is no 5212 Rolex, or is there ? I was confused with the model numbers.
  18. Abut once or twice a week I check the daily wrist thread and more and more fellow members post pics of the Rolex 5212. This is a nice watch and I thought about asking owners what you feel is that makes this particular model so special and sought for by rep (and gen) watch enthusiasts.
