  1. Hi fellow members. I have been looking for a Daytona replica for along time and those that I have owned never satisfied my expectations. It was a matter of quality and accuracy deficit. I´m still looking for "the replica" and one the concerns that I have is the case size. I know the older Daytonas were pretty small. Later there came the 40 mm version which could cost as much a 1K for "ggod " replica. I don't doubt for that price the quality must be there. The question is what is the exact diameter and thickness for the Daytona (Zenith) of the manufactured by Rolex in between mid 80's and 1990 ? I like that model as it is a little more subdued (slimmer) so less bulky and the dial is less clattered (with fat hour markers) found in the current version. I aso lik the saphyre crystal and the SEL links, which is and advantage over the older Daytonas (Paul Newman school). I'm sorry, I think I have mentioned too nmay things and that was not my intention. Please, let me know what are your views on case size of available rep Zenith Daytonas in the replica market. Cheers.
  2. Loks like there is a little more than difficulties to find the option as far as I can see. Maybe that's an option that they want to discourage people to use. At any rate, looking for another replica Yatchie, I run into a website selling Davosa watches. Swiss made, ETA 2824. It's called the Davosa Ternos, which is homage to the Yatch Mast. It´s about 90% like the real thing but it costs twice as much as the rep. But its a gen, manufactured by a well known company. I may buy one, for a change.
  3. It's probably what you guys say. The option is not available for my country. It's odd, as with the previous menu (not the one touch thing) gift and friends option was available. I'm pretty frustrated as I missed buying a beautiful Yatchmaster, whose seller asked me to send the money as gift, because Paypal would withhold the funds fro thirty days. That's odd too. Well, I'm still looking for a yaatchie, so if someone knows about one for sale, please, PM me. Cheers.
  4. I know, the problem is finding the option on the screen. You follow directions such go to my papal, and in the upper bar it is supposed that there is a button to clic " "send money to family and friends". But I haven't been able to find that optiuon, despite having tried countless times. Thank you for your suggestion.
  5. I don't know if I'm behind in my digital competence but I just had to cancel a purchase from a forum member because I was not able to find the gift option in the paypal menu. It used to be very simple to gain access to this form of payment. That's not the case now. I spent more than an hour following directions and I never found the "pay as gift" icon. I find the new Paypal format very complicated. Am I missing something that I am not aware of when looking for the gift option or is it just digital incompetence on my part ?
  6. Hi: Interested in the Blue dial Yatch. If still available, plkease4, lt me know.

  7. I think $ 250 max is a more realistic figure. Watches under $ 200 are generally old school or current reps of lesser quality when compared with today's industry standards.
  8. Well, all things considered, I guess you guys mus be be right. Now the thing is figuring out where to buy the rep. My sights are set on aan old school Zenith Daytona. I have read the Asian 7750 has problems, so I'd rather go for an older (used) pre super rep version of this classic. I'd love to hear from someone who can give me some advise on where to look for one. Thank you for your candid opinions about my perspectives. Best
  9. Hi folks. I've been sort of partime contributor to the forum for sometime and I have not purchased many watches in the last couple of years. I was browsing the trusted dealer section, looking for a Daytona and a Yatchmaster and I was shocked by the asking price for these two watches. Our trusted dealers want from $ 360 up to 400 plus dollars for one of them. It looks that affordable options for replica watches is a thing of the past. Or is it just a sellers market situation, fueled by our adiction ?
  10. I'm not an expert but I 'm sorry I have to say the watch you bought is not the kind of rep you want to modify. If this is your first, keep it the way it is as reference for future purchases. cheers !
  11. Hi: Congratulations, that's a great Daytona. I wonder if you would mind sharing the source for a beauty like that.

  12. Let's face it, the EU originated 40 plus years ago as an economic and military alliance to contain the Soviet empire's plans to take over the West. In other words, this was a matter of avoiding to go to war with the Russians, starting the third global confrontation in the century. And it worked, as in 1989, the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact collapsed without a single shot and peace was secured. Today we have the chanced to do the same. Just take a look at the mess in the Middle East and the millions of refugees without a place to go. This is time for unity not division. I hope somebody has some sense so as to prevent the the next catastrophe that Trump, Putin and Farage could bring to the world as Hitler, Mussolini and Chamberlain did in 1938.
  13. Quite a topic and a wide array of opinions about the fundamental question. How much is toomuch ? In my humble opinion - as said by many - it's hard to decide when you cross the limit between the right amount of money to put in a rep or Frank. This because it depends on your "angle of viewing" when you think of non gen watches. For some of us buying a rep or frank has to do with owning a piece that resembles the a gen watch that you definitely like. Remember that we are talking about a "copy" of an ariginal. Some 20 years ago replica swatches were called fakes and most people knew these were just that. Then, at a certain moment, wiht the advent of replica forums in the internet, the whole thing changed as with hundreds and later, thousands of forum members around the world, gave origin to a critical mass that gave a differeent sense to collecting fake watches, the result of which was topic that generates todays discussion. If you ask me about the amount of "senssible" money you may spend buying a replica or having a frank built will depend on how you approach the act of owning that piece. You may spend 300 dollaras buying a decent rep and feel as happy with it as when you wrist the real thing (my case). Or you may spend thousands of dollars to have the nearest to gen replica available, to fulfill your need. So, I think that deciding about how much is too much to spend in a non gen watch is a metter of individual perception, a decision that is not exclusively made by economic variables.
  14. Very honest and flexible seller when it came to doing business. Great watch at a fair price.

    Thank you

  15. You are totally right parerai153. This would be a good topic for a new thread.
  16. I appreciate the information. I posted the same question a few days back, without response.
  17. Hi fellow members. I received aan email from Angus announcing the opening of a new site. I've looked for the link to no avail. Can someone tell me how to access to the new website ? I'm lo0oking for a Tudor Black Bay and I thought he may carry a good version of this watch. Thank you guys in advance for the your help.
  18. Hi Nightwatch: Thank you for your tip on how to solve the problem. I'll check ebay and the other sources for a movement to replace the damaged one. The broken stem is the one on which you insert the seconds hand. As I said I really like the watch. Fortunately $ 40 dollars for a new movement is affordable so I'll order it as soon as I find one. The watchmaster I take my reps to is generally competent, but this time he really blew it. Thank you all for the suggestions for solving the problem. Best, Alter
  19. Need more help !!! I took the watch to the warchmaker and he said he had mounted the movement wrongly. Then - you are not going to believe this - as he wass putting the second hand back on the stem, he broke it (THE STEM) don't ask me how. I now have a working watch without stem where to insert the second hand. TYhis is a very odd situation and the fellow told me he'll pay for the part. The question is what kind of movement Big Dazz uses on his 6538s ? and where can I buy the part or even where can I get a movement that fits in the Silix case of Bg Daza's 6538s ? This is such a special watch that I miss so much on my wrist. Thank you for reading this sad story.
  20. Thank you Freddy for the tip. I had the watch cleaned last week and I liked it up today from the watchmaker. I realized about this malfunctioning as I checked the time and the watch was 45 minutes late. I'll take it back to the shop on Monday and see what he has to say about this. Thank you again for your help.
  21. Hi folks. For some reason today, after winding the movement I screwed the big crown down the minute and hour hands froze. The second hand works but not the other hands. I pulled the crwn all the way out several times to no avail. The watch works perfectly as far as I don't tighten the crown. Can someone give me an idea about what can be done ? Thank you for your help Alter
  22. Hi Paul: I'm a long time member on this forum and I have bought a few watches from fellow members here. I wonder if you would consider my interest in a Rolex Double Red Sea Dweller, that you say should be available sometime. I owned a gen that sadly I sold many years ago.  I will buy the DRSD from you right away, as soon as it's available.

Please, let me know when you have one for sale.

    Best regards.

    Jaime
