  1. I know what your sig says Slay, i read every post in the LWL thread and Edges post and made a desision to use other suppliers from that time and i have not gone back on that desision. I just dont want to carry a masive banner saying so. I find the markup on these reps disgusting and i will not be spending my cash on them at this price. If you look at the Asian 21j versian listed 6 months ago they were $98 is, well this 4813 movement is just an asian 21j so why the price? The same as in politics you vote well i vote with my wallet, and at least here we have an alternative.
  2. WTF do you remember when you were a kid and some cardboard and a peg would make your push bike sound like a motor bike!
  3. The WTF could be taken the wrong way as in WTF are you thing you [censored], i think a confusing icon would just denote that the post could cause confusion.
  4. @ Admin can we have an icon for confusing please, some times posts are written with good will but the way they are writen can be confusing!
  5. If i wanted a Noob there is only one port of call, TTK, many others may call there cheep good sub noobs or what ever but to be sure it was the same as the original noob as reviewed by Bytor then i would go to where they first came from.
  6. I see what DuDro is saying about the 30 sec marker on the sub dial but that aside [censored]in Wow!
  7. Ha Ha no it is my wrist that has been swollen, i have been turning a swamp into a pond, i have not made a strap for a week as the blisters (between my fingers) from digging have made it a bit painful.
  8. Wearing one of my smaller lighter ones this week as i have a bite on my wrist from some thing in the garden and it is swolen and the larger watches were agravating it. So home made ver 1.1
  9. Got to agree with slay there, when i go out i never go to a public bar, but i do have a large selection of private bars and clubs to attend, one of the bonuses of bike clubs in Germany as opposed to most other place i have been too. This way my drinking stays cheep and also with in a realm where i feel comfortable. You cant beat a club house for that!
  10. I see at least they have the movement correctly named this time. Edit I just noticed the [censored]ing price $178 for a [censored]ing asian 4813 i can get an ETA sub for cheaper, are they having a [censored]ing laugh or what we wont have a problem with people buying from some of the dealers soon it will be [censored]ing cheeper to go to an AD in a limo!
  11. One thig to bear in mind that the tolerence of a swis 2836/24 movement is +- 20 sec a day, i know that you can tune them far better but that is the shop tolerence. If you search about there is a post showing how to regulate that movement
  12. Sellita and Muhle from Glasshutte are working on building a factory in Glasshutte, i assume these movements will be the Sw200 and others talked about here in a hope to fill the void left by ETA in 2010. This new Company/factory whatever is working under the name of Gurofa right now. For those of now aware Muhle has applied for inslovency procedings to start due to a court case with Nomos and the use of the glassHutte wording on there watches as for a manufacturer to use that wording 50% of the value of the movement must be made in Glasshutte, due to Muhle buying in ETA works from switzerland and modding them the courts deemed that they did not meet that requirment. You can read the full story in "Armband Uhren" 04/07 pages 26 and 27. The intersting up shot of this will be when the new factory opens and starts to supplie others with 100% Glasshutte movements and with Wempe Chrono lab just up the road they should be able to provide an alternative to Swiss CSOC chonometers to the masses we those who can afford a mid range watch any way. These are just my thought and musing from what i can gather from the press not any thing else, it would be nice to see a swing however small from the swiss to a 100% german watch (no matter who originaly designed the works)
  13. TTK was the original seller of the Noobmariner and ever coined the phrase, to be sure of getting the proper noob then use TTK.
  14. Concratulations on 1000posts and thanks for the story. Do you still have the watch?
  15. What movements have you been getting so far? And if you read ziggys breakdown of the last copy of the 2836 he was very impressed. After 2010 you will not see a gen ETA outside of the swatch group and all this type of movement will be either very surplus and fell into a box at the side of the ETA poduction line or copys like this, as lond at it is put together well and lubricated properly it should be fine.
  16. Get a bagie or a small air tight box and som silica gel, you know the stuff in little bags in the bottom of new electrical equipment open the crown and seal the watch and silica gell in the baggie or box, wait 24 hours. The silica gell will absorb all the moisture in the box and hopefully out of the watch, removing the back would be better. Then the air inside the watch will be dry and should not now fog up. The question is how did the moisture get in there in the first place?
  17. Good shots i had to lok twice to see that was only one you had, i was looking for the full set!
  18. Alex are you going to start every post that way? we wait with baited breath for the "Im not a Fan of panerai"
  19. That is fantastic news. Ken take the rest you are given, health is more important! Glad to here you are home mate.
  20. jesus what the hell were you doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have you a photo, of the watch that is not what you were upto, hmmmmmmm
  21. I PMed Paul for some information and he basicaly said it was the same and in his words "Quality almost same" what that can mean i thing we have to wait for an expert to get one. In his PM he said the way to spot one was that thew stamping is a lot more promenant and easier to read and that is true, also the logo is placed to the left more so that the balence cuts off the whole top not just the top left corner. and the absence of the "DM" stamp, does any one know what that denotes! have a look for your selves I have just looked at my ETAs that are visible and all look like the swiss versian including the "DM".
  22. All mine come via the UK and never had a problem caused by Jay, now parcel farce is a different matter!
