  1. If you have a rep feindly watch smiths near you it might be just as well to get the water proofing done there as opposed to in china, that way if you have a problem later you know who to complain to. I have had many reps and nver asked for water proofong, i just make sure the crowwn is sealed and the back is on tight and have been lucky so far. Better off get it done by a local watch smith!
  2. Nice tight stiching, does it bick up a lot of dirt, oil from skin and start to darken fast or stay clean. @ V is that hand stiched or machine?
  3. The wifes ex2 today as she hardley wears it but i will be changing to a sub of some description to work in the garden the one on the right i think for later but right now this one.
  4. Great looking watch I have cheeper versian i got from TTK and would love something that looks as good as that, enjoy!
  5. A very sad story to read Flav, it is our loss as a comunity now you no longer offer a service. It is a shame that people have to be so in tolerant and un willing to work out problems if there even was a problem in reality. I am sorry for our loss.
  6. They would be a heavy watch!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Clive that is a good discription of what my 177 strap looks like, workd real well.
  8. The Gen SFSO has real good AR especialy under show room lights, you see it stright away!
  9. Mine looks good on a dark grey leather, and i am waiting for a ti buckle to arrive. it seams to go well with the TI colour.
  10. This one from cousins would work all bar the 24 hour counter @6, look through the rest of the movements and you should find yours.
  11. Just let me know the sise toy want and i will make you one Vic, i would prefer 26-26, or 24-24 as it is easyer for me to cut straight than not and any special wishes you might want, price wise i would not even know what to charge, they take about 3 hours to make. I have the leather on the one above and a nice soft txtured one in Port colour to hand that i am looking worward to doing?
  12. PM me Vic and i will se what i can do, The vintage style one a made last night turned out real nice and comfy.
  13. I think davidsen has all of his asians modded with the higher canon pin from the start but his asian price is not a lot different from the swiss and from the pics alown i could not tell witch was witch?????? Ziggy said a while ago that he has not seen one problem with an asain 6497 yet, so at this point i see no reason to buy the swiss that was proberbly made in china any way as log as the asian had the finish and function i wanted.
  14. As the title says all my pams are now on home made straps, and you know what i get happier with every one i make, i just finished a bit of a vintage styled one for my vintage fantasy pam, picked up som new leather today so making more tomorrow maybe, if any one wants anything making let me know, ill try any thing once! it felt like cheating not stiching the whole thing but after looking at a few vintages it just looked right the way i did it.
  15. Having worn the gen in the Ad the other week one of these with out AR would be like ? well like something missing an important part. If the choise was just movement then i would be all over the asian as it is i will have to save a bit to get the ETA just because of that AR!
  16. Why do we need an ETA version when the ST 18 is a copy of the 2892 and if serviced as good if not better than a 2824 due to its hight allows thiner reps. This movement retail in UK cost more than a 2824. Have a look ST18 and now a look here for a 2824 and now compare the ST18 details with its twin the 2892.
  17. Thanks Pug, should be default reading for all!
  18. Alot of the movements can be advertised as swiss when they are actualy asian (talking about 6498s now) I used to be an ETA swiss snob but now less so. I think for the price of Asians weighs well in their favour.
  19. Adnim u r Edit> the AdMin is not too shabby either!
