Some japanese thing to take off a rounded 45 deg cut right on the edge, the difference was astounding. What is this edge cote and where can i get it? i have tried wax but it is too soft.

I sawpped one with a dg2813 from cousins UK for under a fiver (not counting postage) no problems. there is a link on the other asian 21j thread i put there earlier.

@V as you said the leather and tools make all the difference, as i was at the leather shop the other day i saw some tools that made the edges soooo perfect in just seconds but at $50 a pop too much for now, got a decent awl now thought and that makes life easier!

@ Roland I never stared to make a custom strap till yesterday, just a strap, my 24/22 that i made yesterday has only one hole and is a bit tight right now but as it wears in it will get looser i hope! Got any photos of your work or any tips? My Wife want a a fat strap for her 217 and she wanted it fat! so i made one to her design, if i make another i will alter it a bit but she it happy with it. Have a look at the attached pics. First the 217 and then the 177. Nice soft textured (not hard and pollished) type leather doubled on the 177 (i have to move the keeper down a bit on that one) and lined with some soft aligator finish chamois on the 217. Any one got any ideas for what i can do next? any thing you always wanted to see?

Some do some dont there are so many of them out there, the myota 8215?? does but the 8115 does not or some thing like that. the DG2183 from cousins in uk does and that is based on the myota. But just have a look at the selection that cousins have with 21j there are thousands of variations.

Also a little sceptical about the claims on there site, they have a wempe pam 204 listed as having a lemainia movement in their swiss movement pam section. I realy doupt that that is a real lemainia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!have a look

Well the one thing that says rep to me is the fact that it is worth so much more and some one can take the chance that it could go on ebay for a lot less, but looking at the back it might be a gen as the boat is longer than the one on the rep?????

Some interesting results here, for my self my PO from silix survived 2000Kms on my harley this weekend, some rain, lots of heat and beer and a couple of presure changes going up hills. Belive me that ride alown would have shaken lesser movements to bits!

One small point, i am not sure where you got the info from but All G10 straps issued to the forces in the last 20 years have been 18mm because that is the lug size of the issue CWC watch. The only 20mm straps that may have been issued are to RN and RM divers but a long time ago.
