I am pretty sure it can be done, I have just finished a 2892 in a WM9V2 case, and i am working on a 2893/2 in a GMT2 case right now (just waiting for a GMT hand to arrive as a 2836 gmt hand is 2mm and the 2893/2 gmt wheel is 1.8mm)
I have 1 2893/2 still in my box.
Drill the lugs, shave the CGs on the out side, remove the tube, file 3/4mm off the crown seat refit the crown and tube, or a better one if you have it and done!
I have worked in a few of these new buget subs and i like them for the money a bit of modding and they can look real good, but the stumpy CGs are an issue, i lowered the crown seat on one and it looked better
I am not sure if that date mage is right for a gen crystal, there is a thread about it here but we never realy got the to bottom of the issue.
On the theme of the next mod i would get a gen type pearl and then work on the crown guards
A shot of mine and Cats
I have an account with beco so if some one wants one then i will order it if they pay up front, but personaly it is not worth that much, I may have a cheeper option i am working on
That is an asian 6497 with pam look alike bridges, generaly a good movement, the best way to id exactly what these mocement is is a good look at the balance and the anchor bridge
Craig, you will strugle to get a 6497/2 but the 005 does come with a slow beat movement with a high canon pin set fitted that can be fitted to a 6497/1 or a high beat seagull movement.
the 236 is an asian 7753 and does not have a canon pin problem, but the datw wheels as far as i know cant be swapped for the ETA that being said i dont think it is that bad an issue
