Is it me or have these people completely lost the plot, i'll not even bother going into whats wrong with it, the list is endless. But over 80 bids😆 Vintage Rolex at its finest madness https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-93150-Submariner-Oyster-Watch-bracelet-20mm-Vintage-Stainless-Steel/193106023261?hash=item2cf604135d:g:9JwAAOSwtO5df8cU

Hi guys Just asking a favour here, I need to order some parts from startime but at the moment they aren't willing to ship outside the US. Has anyone got an account with them, and are you ok with shipping it to me in the UK. Nanuq and I thought we were being really clever and have tried to side line them by using his address 🤪🤪🤪but they're not playing ball. I have an account with Cousins watch supplies here in the UK so happy to reciprocate the favour If theres anything they have and you need in the US. Greatly appreciate any help guys Cheers DH

I Have to agree with Jack, Helenarou(MK) produces a very nice 5513 dial at a very reasonable price. The dials based on his own gen and he got it right. When you look at a lot of the Ebay 're dials' etc there's always something not quite right, text spacing etc. And also mentioned he will offer you 3 stages of ageing.

Very nice piece Sir, good luck with the sale.

Yes it will need servicing, but what i'd always bear in mind is if you want this to be a keeper then the cost of a service is well worth it. Also consider installing a gen auto wind module.

Best to always try the search functions on the forum, but i would suggest the non engraved rehaut LN 'JF 16610' with the SH3135 or eta based movement. Add gen Crystal, gen bezel insert, bezel click spring, gen date wheel and you will have one of the closest to Gen watches to enjoy.

Me too? i'm sure i set up a log in.

Hi Snaker, welcome to the friendliest forum, some of the other ones like to shoot new members down for the fun of it. We have all previously been in your position, mine was back in 2008!! . My suggestion is that you have a look at our trusted 'collectors' forum and decide what works for you best. I have personally always used Andrew at trusty time or Josh at perfect clones, they are collectively known as The Cartel if your searching the forums and come across the term. Both have been in the rep scene for years and are trusted. Hope that helps Cheers DH

Agreed Micky is the man, not sure he's still working on reps anymore? He has one of my Seiko's on the way to him as we speak

Just finished, always wanted one of these and managed to buy this fantastic Franken example

After the 5 diget tool watches Rolex for me, sadly has gone the wrong way. Funnily enough the five didget Seadweller was i believe the last time Comex used it as an issued watch. We have a brand new huge Goldsmiths here in Nottingham and you need to wear friggin sunglasses if you go within a 100 yards of the window. Exclusive? interest free credit to anyone who can get it, please form an orderly queue to buy an "exclusive Rolex watch". Luckily Berry's are across the road with brands such as IWC, Panerai & JLC. I can't justify buying them anymore but at least i don't get eye blindness looking at them. All feels like a big con job, no serving available. Please just buy one of our very shinny new watches and we will make you have it serviced with us and nobody else.

Thanks Kernow I'm intrigued to see what arrives as this is an old rep, one of the original Eddie Lee supplied ones. I'm hoping the case is as per Gen construction so it'll be a case of replacing gaskets if I'm lucky. If not then the Marine apoxy will be out in force! I'll post a few pics for the process. Cheers M

Hi guys Hopefully someone maybe able to help me. I've recently purchased a Franken old school omega seamaster 300 chronograph. The aim is to try and make it watertight, it has a gen tube and crown and I'm sure I can re gasket the pushers. Does anyone know If the helium valve was just a mock one, or would I also need to find a gasket for that as well. Appreciate any Info Cheers DH

Or go the classic 5513 route, no date wheel replacement issues. A cartel base model with the Asian 2836 will be a nice start. Make sure it has the 93150 stamped bracelet. http://www.trustytime.club/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_11&products_id=14419 1. Replace the dial with a Helenarou one, comes in 3 variants of aging to choose from and already has the eta feet position. 2. Have the lug holes drilled so you can use gen spec fat spring bars, you ideally also need to reduce the inner crown guards so the gen crown has a gap either side. 3. change the plexi for a clarks T19 one, much nicer. Or just leave the rep one and age it a bit 4. Swap out the crown and tube for Gen, makes a big difference as the rep ones are all too tall in height. 5. Buy some WSO 580 endlinks off ebay Hope that helps DH Hers's one that i put together a while back using the Helenarou dial, best advise is remove the Cartel tube then this gives you plenty of filing room. The aim is to create a small gap between the inner CG and crown. Hope this helps

if money was no option, would you buy a genuine Milsub
denimhead replied to Timelord's topic in General Discussion
Money can improve your life and buy you lots of 'nice' things, and having been very fortunate over the years to have owned some lovely 4 and 5 digit Rolex's, i would now not own one. Why? When i owned them back in the 80's and 90's they were tough practical watches that you could buy for 500 quid, based on inflation that should mean that you can buy a Submariner today for £1127.06. As we know its more like £9,000.00, worth the marketing budget? I wonder if i had an £85k watch on my wrist would i be constantly worrying about loosing a bezel or another unobtainable part? Funnily enough my mate has recently sold his 1978 1675 GMT because he isn't rich, and if anything went wrong with it then he probably wouldn't be able to cover the extortionate Rolex cost of the repairs. So i now sport a nice Rare Seiko SKX 033, which is in my eyes, is a modern day version of my old 5513 or 16610. An everyday modestly priced Divers watch that i can wear everyday. I think often then not its the chase of the item that creates the mental excitement rather than the actual ownership. -
Hi again I've included a link for you to Andrew at trustytime if you have a look at my original post Cheers Hello again Has the MBW case had the lug holes drilled? Also might want to check about the dial appature as I'm sure at one point a gen spec 26mm dial was too small. Dont hold me to that as I cant really remember. Honestly the cartel case has come on quite a bit since we were buying MBW subs in 2008 and they offer a really great base. Gen plexi not really sure in terms of value these days. But If you want to swim in it then my personal option would be to go for a new Clark or sternkreuz plexi. Cheers
