Looks like EL style pics, as an author?? Offshore

S'pose the dealers only put up for sale, what the factories produce. And there are less "critical" buyers out there - away from the forums. But ....yeah.................... :yucky: Offshore

Slay, See ya! Thread closed. Offshore Edit to add. When you want to discuss watches, you are welcome.

Puggy, There is a saying... easy come, easy go... but if you really MUST have a grand or two in the bank, just ask. This is all about some fun... and no, the system is not working as well as we would all like.... but its hardly costing anyone anything. So how 'bout we all go and take a couple of Valium, sit back and relax. As soon as Thomas gets back we will attempt to get it all sorted. Maybe I should see if Paypal accepts RWG $$........... then I could send heaps! But an account could be compromised.................... Ahhh, thats right , can't happen here, and its only replica money anyway!! Offshore

There are at least 3 of you that I know of down there ( poor bastards ) So just post a GTG and see if you can raise some interest! Who knows - we may all come flocking to the city of churches for some cultural activities. Or to see if you've got any good titty bars! Offshore

There are a couple of spray style "servicing" agents floating around at the moment. Maybe our Chinese friends have taken it to the next level......WD40???? Offshore Edit to add- agreed- post moved to repairs.

MU Yes Rolex' ability to continue to function underwater is legendary. And here is another story of fact, to grow the myth. Some years ago, my ex motherinlaw, whilst wearing a Rolly, and whilst on a fishing trip, fell overboard and drowned. As I was a diver, my then wife, coereced me to undertake a search for her dear departed Mum. So I gathered the diving club, of which I was a member and off we went. Long story- short, we found her, and hauled her back on board.... only to find that crayfish had started to eat her. My wife of course was horrified..... "What will we do she asked?" So like any good diver/ fisherman, I answered................................................ Pull the crays off... grab the Rolly.....and reset her! Offshore

MU My rod, as you so wonderfully describe it- is 42' long, powered by 3200 horsepower, and does 160 mph. The sport has been likened to standing under a cold shower, whilst doing ten rounds with Joe Bugner, ( another Gold Coast lad), and tearing up $1000 bills. If you're game- forget the thong bikini- put in your mouthguard- and bring the money Offshore

So I had a PM today from a fellow Gold Coaster, as it happens he lives a few streets away, we will most certainly have a chat in the coming weeks. I remember Ken mentioned at least one other clever RWG'er, who lives here in heaven too! So the question is- how many Gold Coasters ( or Brisbane members) are out there? And is there interest in a little soiree' I'm up- time and place to be discussed/confirmed. Let me know here or by PM. BTW I'm off for all next week.... my first holiday in a number of years.... looking forward to it! So if this moves a little slowly- I'm just not here to answer!! Offshore

Dadog, I find this hard to beleive! Have checked both user names, and Ip's! No Maradona!..... and certainly no former or current drug users of any nature would frequent this lilywhite arena No Boss... this is just cigarettes we are smokin! Offshore -

In my ongoing quest to remove and replace crystals- I have now purchased 3 different size/style "claw" removers (Vigor,Bergeon, and SUC/GS) and a set of Mido clamp style. Also a new and better press. I found a bit of info on the net- which may be handy to some of you guys who are doing this work. Hope these help you crystal pressers out there! Offshore

TT 20-40 years ago, I spent hundreds of hours cave diving. Mt Gambier - South Australia, and in the Nullabor. So it was wetsuit, and a huge bunch of backup and safety gear. Had an American guy- Tom Mount ( who later died in a caving accident - Bahamas from memory) come and dive with us with a couple of his buddies. He wrote a book " Safe Cave Diving" ( didn't do him much good) But I still have an autographed copy dated 1972. I have a host of photos- slides- some wonderful pics- but I don't have - nor understand - the means to convert them to digital. Oh well - just memories now- too old- too overweight- too unfit!! Back to the workbench Offshore

Puggy Thomas was very astute in not letting your mods have the keys to the safe! We are in the main, a reckless lot- and would probably give away ( or blow in the casino) all Thomas' stored millions! And we thank Lancelot for his up grade... will be a nice present for T on his return! Anyone else care to upgrade so Thomas can pay some bills when he gets back?? Go on its easy- just push the donate button- top right! Offshore

Notice that our friend Sub frog is celebrating his birthday today. Have a great day froggy... hope you got some great gifts.... and at least one ticks! Offshore

Puggy Co admins have access whilst T is away, I'm sure they will look into this as soon as they log on. Offshore

I have seen a couple of better quality straps, where the leather "outer" is very thin, and wraps around a thicker "inner" strap ( and I assume is glued) leaving one seam on the wrist side, and against an edge. Then the stitching is done (semi cosmetic) but it would tie the whole strap together. Sort of like a glued on condom, made of leather!!! BTW, thanks to both pubus and MAHLER for their contributions to this most enlightening thread.... this sort of discourse is what I think RWG is all about, and what encourages us admin types to keep modding! Thanks guys, and of course everyone who has contributed. Offshore

Thanks- Thought I was right there- just didn't know if Omega had a new model that I and nobody else had heard of. Seemed a little "unusual" to say the least. Think it may be someone without an understanding of watches, taking " power reserve" to mean a battery backup! But I had never heard of it, and can't really see ( mechanically) how it would be done, although Seiko and the like are doing some pretty tricky stuff. The other one ( Tag) is a classic case of someone plagiarising another sellers text, without reading it! But it goes to show the things we face in buying from the bay! S'pose if it looks too good to be true........! Will move this to scams now!!! Offshore
-
Please advise- I see this advertised on the bay. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/OMEGA-DELUXE-SEAMAS...1QQcmdZViewItem Read pretty good until I saw it had 44 hours backup battery power??? WTF. Am I just uneducated? Is there such a thing? Or has a scammer just tripped over his own description? Offshore Edit to add- Just found another rip- read the Description of this Tag " Constellation" http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TAG-HEUER-PROFESSIO...1QQcmdZViewItem Talk about plagiarism, and cut and paste!
