Hi You need to be an RWG Supporter ( See the "donate" button top right) to post watches for sale. Offshore
-
I just stumbled across this link, if ever there was a question or info needed for basic repair, I reckon it's here. What a wonderful resource. Thank you Mr Carignan Watch Co. http://www.cwrnh.com/techpages/cwr_technical_pages.htm I will put it up in the links as well. What do you repairers think of this? Offshore

If you go to the sales section, and read the pinned articles, you will see that RWG supporters are entitled to offer here. Offshore

Some of the items in these kits have some use. The bracelet pin pusher works well enough ( although there are better available) but the case back tool, and the screwdrivers are crap. So you won't get a lot of useful stuff out of the kit. having said that- its not a lot of $$ to get some basic tools, but you will get frustrated pretty quickly. You are better to spend a few more $$ and buy quality stuff seperately. If you plan on doing a course, ( like TZ) you have to buy their kit anyway, as part of the course. Another good source for some cheaper, ( but better quality stuff) is PMWF ( see our links- Forums) Offshore

Have a great one guys- particularly my old mate Star. Its great to see you still around. Enjoy your day. Offshore

BOYS, BOYS! Back on topic please.... or we will be forced to close this thread. Offshore

Thanks for those Puggy- The 1st one is most definetly what inspired our local journo! Cos there aren't too many Oz journos capable of a new thought! However our local guy did do some research, and came up with an interesting view of "Time" Will try to post it here ASAP. Offshore @ Ken- Don't know whether I have the time!
-
According to an article in the local paper today, the most used noun in the English language according to the Concise Oxford English Dictionary is................................ Money...............................No Sex..................................No Celebrity..............................No Its................................TIME!! I would love to post the complete article, but its not on the papers website, and my archaic scanner has just said... time out! An interesting quote is the saying " time is money".. sounds modern, well it was from Benjamin Franklin in 1748. I will try to scan and copy the article tomorrow... it makes very interesting reading. Hi guys, I have just done a bit more work in our links section. For those of you who don't know about it, go to the top tool bar at about 12 o'clock, and open it up. Just trying to waste some more of your time Some really fascinating stuff in there.... and if anyone has a link they would like put in, and can't do it themselves, send it to the admin team, and we'll make sure it goes in. @rmcsherry, The info on the Polident, came from this thread on NAWCC.(watch repair) http://nawcc-mb.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tp...33/m/4071034222 There is some other pertinent info in there ( which I should have posted at the time- but was in a hurry) To our other members into repair, check this forum regularly, there is some great info. NAWCC also have other forums, my other favourite is their "Tools" section. Worth spending a few minutes each day. Offshore

For the Chopard, Maybe start off trying some Rodico, if that doesn't do it, try immersing in Polident, yeh thats right , the bubbling denture cleaner. Works a treat. Sorry, but I don't have answers for the FM. Offshore

Thanks KKS- Moved to the appropriate area. Offshore

Neil and all, Just fascinating... from a rank amatuer, I bow to your collective abilities. The major thing I have learned thus far, is to tripod mount. However my tripod is a dinky little adjustable leg thing ( legs like pipe cleaners) Do these offer much better than hand held? Or do I need to get a "serious tripod" and if so have you any recommendations? ( I can't see myself with that "strippers pole" that Neil has My wife would probably start to ask about my extra curricular activities!) My other comment pertains to quality of photos released ( or used) I find in my watch sales activities ( Genuines on ebay) that almost every time I take the time to produce a " higher" quality shot, my sales price increases proportionally ( and I spend the time to write a factual but comprehensive sales story) Yes a picture is worth a thousand ( or two) What a great start, to a fabulous part of our forum. Congrats to Ken for the forethought, and a huge thanks to Neil, ( and his fellow experts) Guys - this is what makes this place so good. Offshore

Hope you can get this sorted, and return to our ranks very soon Chris. You are the type of member we need, both for your input and knowledge. Hope we see you back real soon. Offshore

Hi Robbie, Shoot me a PM or mail, will assist if I can. Offshore -
Hi mabmojo, Know you well from TRC... I'm over there as a "quiet" member ( aland) To post here you must be an RWG supporter. Good to see you here, drop by more often. Offshore

Ken, They can be prised off with tweezer ends, but try cutting some thin plastic a bit bigger than the dial ( with a slit in it to get it over the dial and under the hands), before trying to remove them. At least then you won't do much dial damage, as you may need a lever under the tweezers. Alternatively, I can send you a set of hand removers down. ( My mate is here again tomorrow, and goes back next sunday/monday)( Mail/PM) Offshore

MB, How many hours in that? I have an Omega Geneve here, that is not as bad as that one, I was going to scrap it, except it runs! Maybe it needs a trip south! Offshore

To each his own, we are all adults here, it is a free forum, to discuss reps ( and gens) Personally its something I would not do, but I don't & won't head up a lynch party for showing our WIS cousins , something they obviously didn't know. So those from the rep scene were able to enlighten,....the supposedly enlightened. Its really when these find there way to ebay and the like , with "boxes" & "papers", that the real problems occur. As some here would know, I spend many hours each week calling out some terrible scams on ebay, with mixed , and I may say, diminishing results. ( reported 7 tonight- might knock 3) and I am only really hitting what is on ebay Oz. I would hate to try to monitor the US site. So lets get back to judging the positives and negatives of this wonderful rep, and let the jury debate the rights or wrongs of posting on gen forums, in another place at another time. Cos this has really gone Offshore
