Type about:internets in the search/address bar for an easter egg.

"One last note about authenticity, when selling a high end watch online i like to remove the case back and show the movement (innner workings) of the watch, when a company makes a fake or "knock-off" of a watch that is the one detail they cannot fake...the movement." Surely, he can tell that is a sticker on the rotor.

Skyland Dial Colours - Popularity of Grey
fauxlex replied to cornerstone's topic in The Breitling Area
What subdials? All I can do is stare at the flawless lume on UB's gen. -
Thanks for the comparison! That is the perfect dress watch IMHO. I love the look of the wider lugs. I'm surprised you didn't mention the rolex crown on the dial though. It looks leagues better on your gen. Sharp.

Thanks for bumping this. I only have one question: Will it blend?

36mm? That's like an old man's watch. Grats to Rolex for making their lineup more contemporary. If they rep this one I'd buy it(probably not in gold though).

Funny, you love a rep, until you're told all of the flaws
fauxlex replied to a topic in General Discussion
I'm quite the perfectionist, but when it comes to replicas, as long as I know about the flaws, I don't mind them. If it was an exact copy, it wouldn't be as much fun. I enjoy learning the differences between the reps and the gens, and the quest to perfect the rep through modding. Most of these reps would fool 99% of people out of the box anyway, no matter how bad they are, but that doesn't stop the strive for perfection. -
This is terrible news! My sympathies, brother. I've been there. Losing my beagle, Chloe, was like losing a daughter. Give Pele some love for me.

The addiction in perspective. Is it more to do with watches?
fauxlex replied to ubiquitous's topic in General Discussion
Personally, It's a little of both for me. I love expecting a watch in the mail. The knowledge there is some good fortune coming soon, it gives me something to look forward to. I recently purchased a SFSO from Ruby and had it sent registered airmail instead of EMS. Not only was it free, but I can anticipate the arrival a little longer. That said, I also enjoy the watches I order. Maybe because they are reps, I feel like I got one over on someone, whether it be the OEMs, the "suckers" that actually pay over $3000 for the real thing, or just the general population that think it's real(though I wouldn't lie if someone asked). As fun as it is to hunt for new "prey", I think I have my list pretty well worked out, so in the end, for me it's all about the watches, because when I look down at my arm and see a beautiful timepiece, no matter what the brand, or how much it cost, it always brings a smile to my face. -
I emailed Joshua about a graphite/graphite BCE and he said they'll be coming in a couple months.

Is it just me or does the dial on the noob YM lack a certain "shine"? I've been looking at other YM reps for a possible dial swap. Anyone have thoughts on this?

I'm no expert, but that looks great to me. I want to do something similar to mine. How hard was it working with the epoxy? is that what they use to coat the originals? Do you have any suggestions or tips to make the job any easier? I've seen the tutorial on replacing the pearl with watchmakers pearl, but I think the clear coating really gives the bezel that gen look.

Welcome, lozan. Have you tried looking for PAMs at MBK?

Feedback wanted: Omega PO chrono vs Oris Carlos Conte Chrono
fauxlex replied to ssabripo's topic in General Discussion
I'd get the PO. I just ordered a rep of the non-chrono myself. The Oris is too chunky. That said, I think the orange leather strap on the PO is -
You should buy her a rep Rolex. That should loosen her up a bit. If she doesn't wear a watch, maybe a fake LV bag or some rep tiffany jewelry from Bergies. Anyway, welcome!

Rocking my quartz link chrono I got in Thailand from some Indian street vendor.

nothing but bad luck with my first rep :( :(
fauxlex replied to yellowaudi's topic in The Rolex Area
Chalk it up to experience. If you have the patience and desire to learn, you could try taking apart the bezel to get it rotating again, upgrade the pearl, shave the CGs, put in a 4813 movement, and she'll be better than new. Or you could always enlist the help of one of the resident experts here. -
She's a beaut. Crown looks great. You should post a lume pic.

If it makes you feel any better, I had a great laugh. Thanks for posting it.

I don't have a source for you, but I found out the company who makes it. It is Bay-Berk International. Here is their webpage: http://www.bey-berk.com

I was going to start a thread about watch boxes, but I found one before I had a chance. This was the nicest looking one I could find for the money: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/inde...ategoryID=20599

Speaking of BSG, maybe someone here would know is this the same watch that Lee Adama(callsign "Apollo") wears?

Those bastards! Does the post office x-ray packages also? I hope they don't steal the yachtie I ordered(east coast here).

Help! I've only been here about a week and I can't stop lurking. I had no idea there existed such an amazing community of replica watch lovers. I'm blown away how knowledgeable everyone is, and helpful, and kind! So, a little about myself: I've been buying rep tag heuer links/link chronos for years. I know they aren't the best watches, but I've always loved the look of the link bracelets. In fact I recently picked one up in Thailand, and it was that, and my quest to buy a rep rolex that brought me here. I've already ordered a noob yachtie from trustytime and I can't wait to start my collection!
