  1. Congratulations on a beautiful watch. the dial is very unique. I like the canvas strap too.
  2. Wow. looks great. Looks damn near authentic to my untrained eyes. I really like this model. I'll have to check this guy's offerings out more
  3. Great looking strap. love that leather. good find
  4. I agree that the hands should come with no lume, it makes sense for the type of projects we'd build that we'd want to do it ourselves or have the masters do their thing. I'd argue that it might be worth making the seconds hands as I've seen some vintage projects with corteberts that use the seconds hands. I say this because the cortebert movements, while being somewhat difficult to find, are far easier to attain than an angelus. Either way I like the ambition to make this happen and I'm excited to place an order when the time comes
  5. This is my dream watch. I cannot wait to own one. I've been looking at used ones on TZ and they are attainable...I'd just have to get rid of all my reps.
  6. sure look like 40mm's hard telling from those pics though
  7. Sort of lets you see where the bezels for later models came from. very neat. thanks for sharing
  8. these should help, i never share what i find. i'm not around enough. good luck with the project btw http://www.classicwatchparts.com/catpart/c...naagg5mr9c6nk33 http://stores.shop.ebay.com/WHOLESALEOUTLET990__W0QQ_armrsZ1
  9. Offered some great advice about a local watchmaker when I was in need. Great member

  10. Looks great. It's a piece of art. wear it well
  11. 8 hours and it was still glowing the other night. Fades a little faster than normal stuff we see from vac and others No instructions from tritec, had to kind of guess the first watch. second one turned out better. when in doubt, use more lume powder and less binder
  12. Long story short I finished a few projects using Tritec GL black lume and radiomir black pvd cases. I think they came out pretty good. Already sold one. I'm looking forward to making a few more in the coming weekends. Let me know what you guys think. New mod phrase? These watches have been PARALIZED!!!! WHAT EVERYONE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR....LUME SHOTS Dusty- Fixed- Started out with a clean workspace, later added two rubber pound boards just to not scratch the desk: started out with a rad case with asian 6497 with no second hand: Ordered some dials from military time, split open the sandwich dial. These have no lume, just resin. stripped the old paint with some soft sand paper and repainted it with matte black paint. a few coats and it was looking real nice. here's a pic from painting Time to strip the hands. used some paint thinner on a q-tip and then rubbed the rest off with a toothpick. (ajoe B&R with kent parks lume work on nato) not quite stripped yet Mixed up some Tri-tec GL black lume with the clear varnish from tri-tec as well. started with the hands and moved on to the dial: finished dial, mounted with hands: Mounted it without the second hand (fell on the carpet and lost forever): Took a second go at it a day later and came up with a much better product. matte clear coat on the dial does wonders for texture. looks awesome Thanks for checking it out. I'll post more pictures as more models are made. I'm really enjoying this hobby, thanks for all the great threads!
  13. On my mobile so I can't check fir certain but there used to be a seller on eBay called wholesaleoutlet999 or something similar who sells replacement hands for rolex milgauss. Perhaps message him for a lead. Good luck.
  14. the engineering mindset is what fuels me in this watch hobby. the gears, the options, the quality, etc...it's intriguing. I for one am giving luming a try, and if I get lucky with TriTec, expect some wild phantom creations with pictures. good luck to you in your projects, don't be scared to experiment
  15. This might seem dumb, but where can I buy this stuff. Especially the black?
  16. if you check out his blog----http://www.johnmayer.com/Blog, he has several references to watches as well. specifically, and
  17. I'd PM flav and ask him about their start up with LUM-TEC. Seems like a good place to start. Good luck to you though, seems like an ambitious project.
  18. I'll take one of each VDB Nearly in tears with these beautiful pieces. ART!
  19. AWESOME work CE. I'm glad you went through the different steps you took on this, this is a helpful post. Keep 'em coming!
  20. Looks great. Did you do all the work yourself? Any details on movements, case, etc?
  21. can the 616 hands work with 3602 stems as well? if not how difficult would that be to make? I assume you need the same measurements?
  22. I like the bent lugs. I'll be adding those to my custom Rads.
  23. You could also maybe check out WUS. They have subforums for most brands and people will post pictures of unwrapping their gens.
