  1. Although I did have about two years of playing online poker in my home and many days wore nothing but a robe and a Rolex, I now go to an office every day and they expect a bit more material to cover up my fat ass...... I hear a lot of people talk about matching their suits with their watches or vise versa. I earn a lot more money than most people think a good job pays and am lucky enough to be able to come to the office in shorts if I want to (most days in South Florida are weather permitting). I also only own one suit which is an Armani, but have worn it once for my company party in 2004. So, out of curiosity, what does your daily clothing consist of? What brands are favored and does your job require a suit and tie? I also put a tax bracket poll up top to keep this confidential. Just curious to see how the rest of the world lives. On any given day I will be wearing a Tommy Bahama or Nat Nast 100% silk shirt these are the only two brands I buy and i don't like anything but silk. I may wear silk TB or Nat Nast shorts or slacks, and jeans on fridays. Shoes vary from Gucci to Mezlan and I prefer exotic skins. I only own one pair of sneakers which rarely get worn. And yes I match my watch to my shirt and not the other way around. It pays to have a large collection.
  2. I too get bored of the same watch for more than a couple of days. I have several in my box that were once favorites and are now semi-retired. That is why I still buy numerous reps. Even my genuine presidents didn't get as much wrist time as they deserved so I sold them. Much better to have 25 reps than one gen IMO.
  3. I had this same problem with my first Pres. It is just a matter of repositioning the links. The end of the bracelet that is on the inside or closest too you will be much shorter that the outside. This will position the clasp coronet more towards your thumb. I thought first the links should be even on both sides but got this result. This is the way it is sized at the AD.
  4. I no longer have a paypal account due to a moron ebay buyer. Is western union payment going to screw things up?
  5. Technics 1200mkII with stanton trackmaster cart's through 4 kef reference series, velodyne sub and infinity center all powered by denon. Nothin' like good old vinyl.............jammin everything from Rabbit in the Moon to Robert Miles to Floyd, the Doobies, and pre-1980's Chicago. Their Jazzy stuff is the best. Can't forget the king of new york Billy Joel. Always great on a Sunday. Also in my last car: Infinity separates front and rear, Eclipse head unit, orion xtr 12"subs (x2), Orion xtr 900 and xtreme 1000, stinger cap and 0awg wire, audio control eq/processor.
  6. Chose ONE? I couldn't so I have a few: Black SS modified asia 7750 sec @6 TT white modified asia 7750 sec @6 TT black modified asia 7750 sec @6 6263 DW black (on the way) SS Meteorite modified asia 7750 sec @6 (on the way) I don't mind the asia 7750 movement. I have quite a few and have only had problems with one, plush it is the most accurate for the late model daytona. I figure if I spend $250 on a watch and it breaks, I get another. I just buy what I like and don't worry about the movement issues. I think $600 + is too much to spend on a fake watch with a swiss movement. However, I would gladly pony up at least $600 for that ubi-tona...................
  7. My first piece of advice to you young man is not to limit yourself to one brand. My second order almost 4 years ago was over $1,000 worth of Rolex. Although very pleased with the watches, only after I had 17 Rolexes did I realise there were other watch brands that I had to have. Don't fall in love with one brand. I hated Panerai until I got my 251. Just like stocks, Diversify.
  8. I don't get it................ I set my time machine for 1996 and I got this. Cool....................
  9. Im with you TwoTone First I match my watch to my shirt, a true sign of watch sickness. And then the shoes to my outfit. Wish I had my cam, over 150 Tommy Bahama shirts, over 50 Nat Nast shirts, Alligator, Ostrich, Croc, Deer, all make up my shoes and belts. 42 pair of shoes............
  10. The pic of the watch inside the box is different form the others. Look at the strap. obvious scam.
  11. This is a good example as to how the general public or non-wis which make up 99.999% of the worlds population view high end watches. Most people will look at this $22 rolex daytona as a "nice watch", ALL of us here will have a coronary if the date font on our Audemars Piquet (which most people never heard of anyway) is misaligned by .001mm. We are quite a rare breed here but that is what makes it fun. For me it is the thrill of the chase and recieveing that exotic looking package with chinese writing on it. Most of us has had to have bought one of these sometime in the past. I know when I paid $200 for a similiar looking daytona I was ecstatic and wore the thing to death.
  12. I would like to see a more reliable chrono movement and a better way of plating gold watches. Maybe more of a gold shell process that will cost more but will be the same look as solid gold and last just as long. I would also like to see better dial printing and crowns on the rolex models.
  13. My friend has a solid gold daytona and I have had it on my wrist. I know the replica isn't exact, but I am mostly concerned about the dial and color of the gold. @starbug: How is the gold color? Can you post a better pic than josh?
  14. I have never done a group buy before, so I am in for one. I have to pay Western Union though. Is that ok?
  15. I just ordered a few. Gonna send them off to The Zigmeister for mods..................
  16. I have a stupid question. Can someone tell me how to get in touch with DW? Does anyone know if a 6265 is available in gold?
  17. I have sold many watches on ebay. Everything from Rado to Rolex to universal geneve. I have found that the no reserve auctions get the best response, but this is only good items that i got a hell of a deal on. I have had trouble selling watches other than Rolex for the price I wanted. For example i had a Cartier chronoflex that had to be listed three times to get the price I wanted. Zenith is not the most popular brand on the bay. Check out the format of other sellers auctions with the same style/brand. If most of them start out with a bid near the asking price than this means it does not get much interest and are relisted regularly. All the relisting fees eat up your profits. However, anytime I list a Rolex no matter how many others are on there at the same time, it always sells at a good price. I have never used escrow.com but hear they are the most reliable. Fees are about $300 or so.
  18. Just to show how stupid TV producers are, two nights ago on court tv there was a story about a 19 year old kid who was a master at credit card fraud. They showed him at the Rolex dealer buying a watch. They went through the trouble of decorating the place with Rolex signs and watch stands, but the watch the kid buys was an all gold datejust with the cheapest looking band I have ever seen. A closeup on the dial shows tick tick tick away. No attention to detail.
  19. It was more difficult to explain the pass around watch than anything else. Mainly, why are you taking pictures of the watch in front of my ass? She called us a group of sick SOB's. I always found that I could buy anything I wanted as long as the missus gets something every now and then for no particular reason.
  20. I will be at my bosses house in Palm Beach I will be going as myself (sometimes referred to as "pimp") This watch (hopefully)
  21. Wow, 27.....That is way too young. I just turned 31 and have three older friend with cancer. This is really sad. Really makes you appreciate life.
  22. Ask my girlfriend............. Sorry couldn't resist.........
  23. There are watch guys and then there are guys who happen to wear a watch. I like to think of myself as a watch guy who has many watches and wouldn't think of getting a scratch on one of them. This guy wears a watch specifically for the purpose of knowing what time it is and being comfortable at the same time. That is pure insanity. If I want to know what time it s, I have my Laptop and my cellphone.
  24. Stop being a cheap bastard..........In the time it took me to read this anal, whiny thread I could have made $2,000 on the poker table. This is nitpicking at its finest. If you want value buy a C-omex, Alpha or RXW. If you want a cheap asian knockoff buy that, and if you want a watch that has a swiss movement buy that. Our quest here is for the most accurate looking replica watches in the world. Who cares if you saved $370 with a stupid scheme to make a reverse franken watch. The most important thing here is that i don't think the girl in ajoesmith's avatar cares what movement is in your watch..................
  25. Daytona dejavu. We haven't had this big of a problem with a chronograph replica in a while. Too bad, I like this watch but can't wear it being this far off. I have gotten spoiled.
