  1. can't wait to see the bracelet....
  2. the guy with the hose got the best deal...
  3. FA Jones
  4. Nice review. I need to pick me up one of these and get away from the hammer and pin routine.
  5. I think quartz movements also need to serviced at some point in time.
  6. See if you can pick up a diamond tester. It tests the conductivity of heat. Sapphire and diamond will conduct heat better than glass.
  7. Check out ZM's articles on movement reviews and care of movements. Also, gen ETA may not always mean a new movement, though.
  8. i've had trouble with silicone as well, i think it was gs cement. it turned out to be too weak to hold the dial to the movement. the tape i used was from ofrei. i'll give yours a try the next time. anyone used epoxy? i remember ZM mentioning that he uses it for inserts but not sure about its suitability for dials. one drop of that stuff into the movement will probably mess it up for good.
  9. I know what you mean, when I first got the v2 YM, I broke down and ordered the TT and LV as well for the heck of it.
  10. hmm... Now that you mentioned it, the date mag seems to be slightly smaller than it should be.
  11. I think lani found the crystal bk used so good that he did not swap the crystal. I think gen insert will be the way to go. I compared it against my colleague's gen sub and found the pearl too white and opaque such that the metal ring was somewhat obscured wheras the gen pearl has a more translucent look to it.
  12. wearing my blue surf today.
  13. Fantastic! Did you forget to install the crystal? Who did the double AR?
  14. Now, you've made me want to go get this...
  15. i think all the usual dealers offer the UPO in both rubber and bracelet.
  16. I tried to use it on an SOSF and all was fine until I installed the hands and realized that the thickness of the tape caused the minute hand to keep bumping into the breitling wing logo on the dial. You may or may not have that problem with your hour markers.
  17. Hmm... Sounds a bit dodgy. You might want to check with the staff. They mentioned about similar activity some time ago.
  18. thanks, lani. probably go for an insert swap if i can source one.
  19. thanks, bt. yeah... the cost is the major barrier, it costs more than the watch! i think new ones from rolex come at $1.1k after trade-in. any sources for cheaper ones? i'm not a fan of bracelets in general and less so of rep bracelets but this is one of the best bracelets i've had other than the bk wm9 v2 YM. still, i've owned a gen nd sub before and i'm a bit spoiled so i may just get it and maybe share it with the bk wm9 LV when it arrives.
  20. mine was not a linear route as i initially ordered the v2 and upgraded to the v3. i think bk said his lead time for the v3 is 1 month when he launched it. it's definitely worth the wait.
  21. Just picked it up at the post office where it has languished since 22 Dec. BK sent it out before he went on vacation but my postman did not bother to drop a notification and I only received a reminder on Mon. Sorry for the poor quality, taken on iPhone... Looks good overall but probably needs a gen insert. Bracelet is a bit stiff and under-edges a bit sharp but much better than the noob bracelet, probably needs work with WD-40 or chain lube and an emery board. I wonder if I should shell out for a gen bracelet and risk mismatching SELs. and yes... I have the wrist of a 9 year old girl.
  22. I'm torn between the black themes and the two rubberclads myself, although I find that I'm drawn to the white rubberclad despite it having the most obvious tells. I've been leaning towards white dials recently.
  23. looks like I failed my high school German as well.
  24. Classy! Just wondering why the preferences for German DW? I've seen various other members do this.
