  2. What about trusty's 177H custom job? I think he said there is a genuine swan neck on there. Can anyone confirm? Here's a link to the pics: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v738/the...%20custom-made/

  5. Damn just read the other posts... Do I get credit for the year of the invention and patent ?
  6. Back from work, he invented the Tourbillon. It was in the link I gave earlier. 1795 Abraham-Louis Breguet invented the tourbillon, which he patented in 1801
  7. Actually you're right, so much for my shots in the dark It says so here: http://www.worldtempus.com/wt/1/6791/ Look under "1750-1850 : The birth of the modern watch" Should have searched beforehand
  8. Doesn't Andrew have a custom made 177H with working swan neck ? Please let me know about this as I am not 100% sure on this one.
  9. I think Zenith were one of the first to make the flyback, they may have even been the first (I think that's what it said on the video that came with my Zenith watch). As many will know Panerai also have a flyback chrono - the automatic PAM212. I can't remember which movement is used in the genuine watch though, but would be interested to know if it can be replicated.
  10. I know, just adding some levity. Fell asleep in the middle of my last reply last night and just added that now. Gonna have last nights dinner at 8am now
  11. Greatest Achievement: Being father of Salma... I can't stop watching her Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....
  12. He doesn't have a GMT watch with 6 time zones?
  13. Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
  14. surfer's one is better, he is Italian after all
  15. I'd like to see that bracelet too.
  16. Breitling Seawolf Titanium right now. Gonna change to a cheap Sekonda for playing football in.
  17. Both the 188 and the 196 I have with ETA 7753 and old case. I will try it again. The same bracelet fits on the 029 ETA 2893 with little problem though. And yes you were price insensitive with 187 but it looks so damn good. If I could afford it who knows, maybe I would have gone for it too, just unsure about that price and the Asian 7750. Looks so damn good though. I just hope it eventually comes out with ETA 7753 at a reasonable price (like the old case 188 and 196).

Didn't know about regular pricing until now. I should have tried to get hold of a Japanese guy I knew in university (in Japan) and got him to order it. Or a friend of mine who is moving there in the next couple of months.
  19. kruzer, I tried putting the SS bracelet on my 7753 188 but couldnt get it to fit ... I'll try again sometime. Can't get one of the screws out of the lugs of the 196 so it's still on the rep strap too. 187 - lucky guy

I have! I am wearing the 196 right now but earlier this week wore the RXW and a Breitling Avenger Seawolf as well.
  21. The advantage of an ETA 2893 over a modded ETA 2836 (with either independent hour or GMT hand) is that you can get parts for the 2893 if it needs repair, while the modded ETA will have problems as it is modified in China to specifications no one knows.

And if you do go for it, contact me about customs issues on this particular one.
