What's 4-5 mm loss from a regular PAM ? You also get a nice wooden box with it, a screwdriver, extra spring bars, two Connolly leather straps with buckles on each - they feel great quality but I havent bothered looking at how to change out the bracelet as I like that. The instructions came on paper in an envelope, but by now most on here will know how to operate a chronograph etc. And if you miss that PAM feeling ... it's got a sandwich dial! No relume necessary!

And I should add, if I go out to a club tonight, I'll switch back to the RXW Plasmir Milgraph... wanna see it glow in the dark

I came to reps want r*l*xes but now I'm crazy for PAMs, IWCs, APs, Franck Muller and others! Also, with this Daytona, I'm not sure about the reliability of the movement. Looking at the cost I am very wary of it breaking down as well.

I got mine a couple weeks ago - thanks david for the info. I like it and the glow is great. The gas tubes are great Go to a cinema and you won't have a problem reading the time. The case looks like a PAM from the front but on the side it is very much different. I've had the chrono running for days and it's fine. It's an ETA 7750. I've got it on the steel band it came with (very oyster like). I was also sent two leather bands which feel of good quality. AR coating works well too. All in all, a great watch at a great deal.

PAM addiction has taken hold of me very bad so this is good news PAM 001, 028 (once I saved up enough), 029, 036, 063, 127, 188, 192, 196, 212 and yes, these are ALL with ETA movements.... crazy or what ? I can't afford this

How is the Tag Link bracelet? Each link should be two parts but in reps I've seen so far it is just one piece with a line down the middle to give it the effect of being like the genuine thing.

I don't think Ruud Van Nistelrooy or Cristiano Ronaldo have had any leaks on theirs. Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Just to let you know that the ETA 2893 movement is not (in my opinion) a TRUE GMT movement. - You CANNOT independently adjust the hour hand. - You CAN independently adjust the 24 hour GMT hand, which will jump from hour to hour, at the correct point (eg. if it is 4:30 and you adjust it, the 24 hour hand will be halfway between the hour markers). The modified ETA 2836 movement does this too but I have never seen them in action. The genuine R*l*x GMT Master and Omega Seamaster GMTs have independently adjustable HOUR hands, not 24 hour GMT hands.

BEST Payment Option - Definitely NOT PAYPAL
Chronus replied to trustywatchguy's topic in General Discussion
Problem with sending cash is that postal workers may steal some! Problem with WU - even if the dealer gives a discount - is the limit on how much you can spend per month. Off topic, TTK - I finally saw V for Vendetta on Monday... had to go to Odeon West End in Leicester Square. Great film, reminds me of Orwell's 1984, and better than a similarly themed Equilibrium. Only downside was paying so much on the tube and the ticket to watch it was something like 12.50 ... almost 2 hours work Local cinemas cost around 4-6 pounds. -

PAM Asian 7750 vs PAM Asian 21-jewels automatic
Chronus replied to Rolexman's topic in General Discussion
The Asian 7750 - It has running seconds at 9 o'clock as you get with many PAMs such as the Arktos etc. It also has a day/date function. The problems with the Asian 7750 (as far as I know) is when there are extra gears added to move the subdials - a good example is the Daytona that has running seconds at 6 o'clock (as detailed in The Zigmeister's review). With no strain coming from chrono functions, I doubt there would be (m)any problems with this movement in a non-chrono rep with running seconds at 9 o'clock. As for the price, I think the price is similar to the chrono reps with Asian 7750. The way a dealer/manufacturer figures it, is they have to sell the same movement based watch the same price, regardless of the chrono functions. Personally, I would think that a chrono rep would cost more because there are subdials as well as extra hands on the watch for this function. The non-chrono rep doesn't need extra hands or pushers so should cost cheaper... although I don't know by how much. -

Sending invoices via pp with nowhere to write any notes may be the way to go. I think Narikaa and TTK already do this and have had the least problems. I think Joshua, Andrew and Silix are high-volume guys and it may take up too much of their time, while Eddie has a proper job, so who knows if they will go this way? -

Problems I've had with WU and moneybookers (apart from the fees ) is that they have a limit to how much you can send in a certain time period. At the moment I can't fund moneybookers with credit card because I've reached the limit and have to wait 60-90 days (can't remember the duration). I refuse to link my bank account to it (or pp for that matter) as I don't want all my money disappearing into there for whatever reason they cook up. With WU you have to call them up to verify the transfer and tell them why you are sending the money and if you know them. I don't know how many PlayStation3s and Nintendos I can pre-order before they think it's dodgy -
100 GBP may get one of mine Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

I want the brown dial version. Most watches tend to be black or white dial... something different is always nice.

Solution to stolen pictures ... and not that i like it, but put a watermark on the main part of the picture. eg. FAKE PANERAI in big letters will definitely prevent it being re-used to sell on another site.

So I walked into a Rolex dealer with my rep Yachtmaster
Chronus replied to a topic in The Rolex Area
A friend walked into a big shop here (Watches of Switzerland) and they saw his chinese PAM111H rep and asked to see it and said it's a great watch. My friend said it's a replica, and the guy said there is no way it is a replica He showed him other Panerais and gave him a catalogue in the hope he'd buy some. Maybe it's cos the guy looks the part, wearing his expensive suits and is in his late 30s. He's also the kind who would spend big even though he doesnt make lots of money. -
PAM 212 1950 Flyback Sapphire A/R Crystal Project
Chronus replied to JWR's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Looking good. I am waiting on silix to see what they can get me on this one. They may be able to get a sapphire display back, but with the standard plexiglass front crystal which I can replace with this one -
Most dealers will probably accept Western Union or Moneybookers. Just ask next time you are dealing with them.

I'm going for the PAM036 myself.
