  1. it's just sad reading some of these updates. I am glad that 2 members got their money back. but the issue still remains at large for mm that he has no money to show for. Sure, mm has a DSSD now, but only because he paid twice the money to another member for the sale. I agreed with others that this matter is not closed. can you imagine the first person complaining to toyota about the brakes, not getting their car fixed? I can't.
  2. I did Lani, my 5004's crystal look nothing like your 5002. Should they have the same characteristics? time to ask for some refund on my watch back. lol
  3. R, I did not know you have a 3714 project going too. what parts do you have left to complete the project? gen dials and hands again ala 3717? congrats man, that is a stunning gen movement. time for me to hit on concepta on PM!
  4. my version is more like wheaton and lani's. man, I got to find some time to take a picture of mine. I firmly believe that mine have practically no AR at all....
  5. if you want honest opinion, you are asking way too much. you can pick one up at TZ for the same condition for less than $500.
  6. ebzen, is your 5002 stock from the factory, with no mod? cause that looks to be some great AR with the watch. dang, does this mean I have to get a 5002 also? yikes!
  7. thanks guys, I really think mine has either no AR, or just a single layer. Reminded me of the 3717 stock, which is hardly any. Wheaton or Lani, on yours, which I assume both you guys got a full treatment of goodies. What are involved? I would think Chief AR and relume? one thing I do question is on the 5004 relume, what is supposed to be lume. we know the hands and reserve hand, but what about the actual hour markers? the stock lume appears to have hour markers lumed, altough it is weaker comparing to the hands. what is the gen 5004 lume like, does anyone have any idea? Thanks. And Lani, your stock 5002 AR definitely looks to be stronger than mine. it is a rather significant blue tint in that second shot for sure.
  8. well guys, I finally got my 5004 on my wrist. watch was shipped out on 1/23 with EMS, and just received it today! never had this long of a wait from EMS. so before I close the deal with the collector, I was told that it would have double AR. upon receiving today, I can't help but think that perhaps the BP only have single AR, or no AR at all on mine. I can barely even see a blue tint. I wanted to know from those that may have sourced from the cartels (since mine was not), how their 5004 is looking. do you get a relatively distinct blue AR. Or was what I described of my watch pretty standard practice for all the 5004s? to my knowledge, you cannot order these BPs without ARs, or perhaps I am one of the unlucky few? all feedbacks are welcomed as always. thanks in advance.
  9. didn't read this thread until now, combed through all 8 pages. the seller sounds full of [censored]. nothing is "free", yes, we all know that. but why didn't you spend something extra so in case the unforeseen could happen, you can provide proof that it was shipped with tracking. buyer bought the watch from you since Oct 09, how long should he wait for, until Oct. 2010? for you to not include tracking that is your fault. your fault only, not the buyers. you should learn your lesson, refund the money back, and consider lesson learned. and why do you need to have several usernames on the same forum? just what is the purpose of that? I really cannot think of anything else, other than shady business. and why do you have a name on rolexforum? are you trying to rip some gen owners, by sending them reps, and charge them gen money? and when these gen forums later find out that you have "associations" with these rep forums, what do you think they are going to think? that rep forum people are just a bunch of scumbags because of you? and what's with the attitude to your buyers, your "until then, f you" words were not necesary. change the scenario for a second, if YOU bought something from someone back in oct. nothing shows up, and the seller you bought from have no record of shipment, and just said, "take my word for it" how the hell would you feel? I bet it's not going to be all that good. hell, I have shipped a broken polex for sale for like $40 and still did tracking, because I wanted to make sure my buyer gets what he or she bought, and to protect me. In this case, you clearly did not think it through, you didn't want to take responsibility. everything is all about "your word". and you said "why would I scam for 300 euros? well, how many members have complained now, add them all up, and you are into 4 figures. that is not a small coin. and yes, if you were to scam, you certainly have done quite well haven't you? every single time when you post, it's all about "you". how "you" sent them, how "you" do not want to lose money. never once have I seen you said you were truly sorry that you put the buyers in the situation like this. Do the right thing, and refund all money. I'm sure the buyers would have enough honor in that if they do receive the watch later, they will repay you again. The main thing at hand is this: you reached a deal, you sold things. buyer pays you, you received money, and buyers do not have their goods. Someone is screwed out of money, and it's not you at this time. so do the math, and do the right thing. and I hope it all works out in the end for all parties involved. one way or another. and thanks to the admins from the various forums to step in at this time.
  10. mine says it left guangchou on 1/23 and that was the last update that I have through all of the sites. so count yourself as lucky!
  11. Hi BT, thanks for posting this new thread. I have been looking to buy a SFSO for the past month, and have had my heart set on the ETA blue, then I read about your review, how the blue is quite off, and I was also able to see, as I am trying in both markets, gen and rep, to get a steelfish. Then as I saw the "let's show your breitlings" thread, that so many posters here have the white one, and not the black. But thank you for the explanation of the white gen, as it is more creamy versus the rep, which is more white. The black it is for me. although I am still debating whether or not I should get the gen or not, since really the price difference is not that big, compare to your typical gen/rep price ratio. decisions, decisions. rep black, or gen black or blue? my head hurts, and of course I need the gen sellers to agree to my price term first.
  12. Thanks for everyone again for your stories. Yeah, unfortunately there is nothing for some of us to do, but to wait. so I am just not going to worry about it much. good thing that I did have a vintage gen that was shipped to me from Canada, that got here in about a week. I'll just have to wait and wait, I think that way when it does show up, I will be genuinely surprised and happy, right?
  13. I have the white faced one! and yes, a damn fine rep in its own right
  14. Thanks Lani for that feedback. I guess I will not press Hont on replacement anymore. I'll just kick my feet up and let the good times roll. Thanks for the insights guys.
  15. Thanks O/S for the reply. I am just thinking that if it really had left in China, wouldn't it have been scanned in NYC or Chicago at this time somewhat? and if the customs were to seize it, wouldn't I have seen the status update such as "inbound into customs". this extended wait from EMS is new to me, so that is why I am curious to know. any thoughts on this O/S?
  16. well ladies and gents, I have not bought a rep in years. I have recently decided to buy a BP5004 from Hont. The watch is shipped out of China on 1/23 from GuangChou, and after that, nothing.... it seemed like that it had disappeared into no man's land or something. so it has been 10 business days, since it left China with no status. I wanted to see if this is actually common. I have gone through many EMS shipment, but never had I run into a situation like this. Can anybody shed some light and see if they have run into issues like this where it goes into tracking with no update for this long, and the watch show up later? I have asked Hont to possibly send out another watch since Chinese New Year is coming. If he doesn't ship out, then I am looking at into possibly 2/26 and still without a watch. He had replied and said he will not ship out a replacement, and kept saying that the watch is show up. Am I asking perhaps too much? Just wanted to solicit some feedback. any insight would be greatly appreciated as always. TGIF everyone.
  17. Congrats on that fine timepiece Laz. ahh, that beautiful AR date window!
  18. I was going to ask that too, about my sales post. thanks for posting the Q&A V & TT. good weekend.
  19. I don't know about you guys, but that is one scary dog........
  20. Hi Teejay, no, to be honest, I was never drawn to any GMT watches, until I saw the ceramic. Something about the watch bring out emotions that I did not have with any GMT watches. I remembered the old days when Eddie offered the ETA 2893 in 029 and 063, and I should have jumped on it then for $450. Look at how much the currency of reps have changed. It's been pretty crazy. Maybe it's a funny way that someone is telling me that I am just not supposed to spend any money on GMTs in general! Maybe I will get some trades out of all these GMTs here. But to be honest, I really wanted a good Ceramic. But I just really cannot put myself into all the time invested in it, at least the emotion part of it, then get let down that much..........
  21. Hi reynolds and teejay, yes, it is really disappointing to have a watch that just did not have some decent quality control. I understand that these are reps, so I kind of just shrug it off. But before I told the collector to ship it off, I even said, please check and see if the date will align in the window. it just sucked that I waited 3 months for a correct watch to be shipped to me, and in the end it was all for nothing. Well, not nothing entirely. I will sell all 3 GMTs to recoup some costs. I am sure all 3 will sell, as I will move at the price below even the best price by the collectors, and 2 of them were never worn! and even this somewhat faulty ceramic had only less than 1 full day on the wrist. anybody have any suggestions as to what I should try to get as an replacement?
  22. well, boys and girls, after close to 3 long months of waiting. my Ceramic GMT arrived as of Saturday. The collector said he picked out a good one for me, and then the watch was shipped. Well, after I received the watch and put it on my wrist, I noticed that the crystal did not seat correctly, at least not evenly. the left side of the crystal sits more correctly, where as near 6 o'clock, the crystal sits right on the same level as the bezel. I noticed the 9 o'clock marker is slightly misaligned. I also went back to the pciture that the seller sent before shipping, and confirmed that it is the same watch with slight misaligned marker. Among other problems that I had noticed, is that the date window alignment is off, 2, 3, 4, are all sitting way below in the date window. In all honesty, I think the seller really tried. It is inexcusable that I would receive a wrong watch 2 times in a row. When I finally know that the correct watch is coming, I was excited for a bit. Wore the watch for just one day, and now finding out all these problems as I spent more time. I will email the collector to tell him that I will keep all 3. In fact, I will sell the ceramic shortly, as soon as I can get some pictures of them. and just try to move them. I think I will lay off the GMTs for a bit. Dealing with getting the right GMT, had taken a lot out of me. so it's time to move on. expect a sale of all 3 GMTs in the sales corner towards the middle or latter part of the week, and I am sorry to say that it just did not work out for me
