It's an EPIC FAIL for Apple & AT&T here in the states for sure today. Notice the Apple stock dropped sharply today? hell, they deserved it after this debacle. It is indeed an iPocalypse!!!

if we really want to nick-pick, the 12 hour triangular marker is slightly off too. if you look at the sides of the triangle, then compare the distance to the round dot marker to each of its side, you will see the distance between the two, they are not even......now I don't feel as bad, as mine suffered just a bit of this syndrome as well.....

Sorry to hear about this Dani. This sucked big time. I am curious to know if you will be reimburse in any way shape or form because of what happened. When things like this has happened, besides having to deal with finding replacement, which in this case it would be difficult, it's about feeling violated. I had my stuff stolen from my car twice, I eventually got over the costs that were involved in my car, but to this day, the feeling of being violated of some punks stealing my stuff remain fresh. I would love to get back at those people that stole from me! Best of luck Dani.

I hate to say this, but all of this makes no sense. By Tor may be right on this, that perhaps there are some QC control. But for some dealers to come out and say that the factory will make no more correct hand stack ones, is beyond me. There clearly is a demand here, so unless there are some reliability issues, it would be truly foolish that they would not make them. And frankly, if I go to either Angus or Jay, and tell them I want a watch like that, I can't see them just say, "josh and andrew's got these" and it will be theirs only. If that is the case, then we really are talking about "cartel" like behavior. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Zig, I understand where you are coming from. I hope throughout the years, of all the pieces that I have sent you, they have not caused too much grief for you. The ones that I can remember is the IWC GST SS, and the JLC RDM. I still cannot believe that you are able to do your normal 8 to 5, and then do some work for the other forum members, to writing tutorials for the forum. All those pictures taken and all the typing, I really don't know how you find the time! And we all owe you some thanks, whether anyone had actual interaction with you. You have contributed a lot to this forum. It's just sad that the unfortunate reality that there are some bad apples can ruin it for us, but I just call it selective customer base, that is all. Less headache for you to deal with. It's just a necessary evil to implement. That is all. Several of my watches will miss you dearly over the summer, but hope to see you in the fall. Have some fun taking time off with J, like others have said.....you certainly deserve it.

CBR, I am happy to know that all works out in the end in this instance. I was the victim of vandalism done to my car. To this day I think about it, and if I was in your shoes, I might have just fire off a shot, just to scare these punks if I see them in person, or hell, just to shoot one near their ears to deaf them a bit. Perhaps these losers were playing too much Grand Theft Auto 4, that they'd thought they would put it to the test. Dumbasses.......I hope they go into the tank for a long time.

Hi Lani, If you don't mind me asking, what mods were done to it? the date font and magnification look great!

Would you rather own 10 reps or this Sony Bravia 40inch LCD HD TV?
woody replied to DemonSlayer's topic in General Discussion
wow homer, you have a Kuro? I've got to get into your business then, because the business for you must be good!! but homer is very right on this. If someone is truly picky about TV, then Kuro really is your best bet. Better yet, Pioneer had just annouced the Kuro 1080p projector, priced at $13,000. Due next week. I am sure it will look as good as the plasma line as well. But B16 said it best....do you need a TV now? if you don't, then I'd get the watches...for example, I am still happy with my 1080i 50" rear projection TV, so I think about getting watches more, than getting a new TV. Although, my last purchase was from last year or maybe even the year before? so it's been a while. -
First off, I would like to say that I don't frequent other forums. Nor do I want to. I simply believe that this is THE BEST watch forum. Bar none, from either rep or gen scene. I certainly don't think we should question how mods would do things. For some to accuse that our mods should moderate around the clock, I think that is a bit unrealistic. Mods have a life too, and this is not a paying job for them I don't think. And if some people wanted a certain approach to certain things, I think they should say it, or type it, with some courtesy. Some of the posts in this thread are a bit out there. But I would leave it at that. And if the forum or mod is not doing what you think it should be done, you can have the freedom to leave. But we should all be realistic, I think that's how it got started from the Chad thread anyway. Realistic view versus unrealistic view. I'll say it again that I feel lucky and proud to be in this forum. If some hate it so much, or say the forum should run it another way, perhaps you may want to think about leaving, or perhaps creating your own forum, where you are the king..... flame away again.....I've got my flame suit on.

Sending PM to Chad responding negatively is not warranted. I think we are all better than that. That needs to stop right away. I certainly hope we won't have more negative PMs going around.

Wow, I guess I am late to this thread. I had taken part in Chad's thread. I thought I would offer what is my thought process in this. I thought Chad's reasoning was a bit out there for the justification. And I know that if I was not the only one speaking on this, then other people feel the same way. To one of the members' suggestion of not posting anything in a sales thread. I don't think that is a feasible solution. What if we do have a scammer among us, that is posting a deal of a lifetime, but some people have had bad experience with that seller, are they just not supposed to post anything at all? Remember the old days of Chronomat123 (Eric)'s fiasco? are we just not going to post anything at all? I know this is a far fetched comparison between Chad and Eric. But I think posting in a sales threead is ok, as long as you do it with respect. I do not think my post towards Chad was out of line. And anyone can question why that person is selling at a certain price point. Perhaps to better gauge what the watch is really worth. I have never dealt with RBJ before, but if tomorrow I post a watch for sale that was modded by him, and I say something to the effect of "because I had to deal with Joe, and him screwing me and my watch for 6 months' time" do I automatically tax that premium on to the next buyer? I couldn't find myself doing that, and I cannot fathom seeing anyone else doing it either. I made a post in there with a Silix link. I thought it was ok for me to do, and why not? One school of thought would say perhaps Chad's AR was worth the extra $130. But maybe to the next buyer, they are willing to wait a month or two waiting in line for the AR work on top of the Black Magic, and why not? Waiting a month for AR to be done, that money savings, could get me Asian SFSO. If we were to take a poll, perhaps it would be 50/50, whereas someone don't want to wait for a month, and opted to pay $130 over the marketed value, and half of the members would want to have an extra watch. I offer it as an alternative for someone who do not want to pay for a $550 PVD'ed Big Bang. I think it is warranted. To "me", I feel like I am informing the other members of the forum, of that opportunity, to perhaps save some money. If today, the markup is not that substantial, I would not bother to look at the thread at all. I just happened to came across it, by chance. And to RG, I was not aware of other Pams charging 3 times as much, I just didn't look at all the threads in the sale section. But maybe I should start selling my modded 036 or 005 for the price though. My last point would be, this is the internet guys. I think this gives us freedom to post our thoughts are, as long as I do not do it in a demeaning manner, or resort to name calling. This is what makes internet forum great. Because for all you know, I can be a big dude, that can bench press 450, or some small guy, or the guy that said the word Karma a lot, due to his avatar....you'd never know. Ok, done with my stupid thought process, feel free to flame me away!.....

I like my mom's pronunciation, even though it is all wrong, it is funny to hear her say it, and I have to correct her. Apparently, a lot of Taiwanese people are all pronuncing them this way. Correct way My mom Gucci Koo-Ji Skype Skai-Pee Ikea Ee-Kia I think I just may return to Taiwan and teach common English pronunciation as a job.

Come on guys, both are cheap knockoffs from Canal St. Since they are cheap and low in quality, may I get both for $10 shipped to me via EMS, please? ;)

finally arrived.. IWC pilot chronograph 3717
woody replied to arminvanbuuren's topic in The IWC Area
darn, I didn't know Rob offer marker thinning service. I should check with him via email then and see what he says. But mine has made its way from Canada as well. I will try to post pics later of my proud twin sets. by the way, has anyone tried on watchboys' kevlar strap for the 3717? does it feel soft, or does it feel rough? if anyone had tried those, I'd love to hear about it. thanks for the feedback. -
Haha Scoobs, when is a gen not being bought from Andrew? That guy sure has great hookups for people who want to buy gens, right?
-
Chronus, with my new service it is all about personal TLC. each night, I will take your watch out for a "walk", meaning that I will admire it for 1 FULL minute, and just before I put them back onto the pillow and back to the case. I will personally use my mouth to carefully blow on your watch. it will receive a full B low job around the watch, the case, strap, the whole works. and I am only charging $25 for 6 to 8 months of holding hostage, ooops, staying at my watch hotel.......this is a bargain!!
-
Hey guys, I am offering a new service that have been proved very popular in the past. I have a watchbox, and inside the watchbox, it has pillows. For those of you want to try out my service, simply send it to me, and I will watch it for you and put your watch on my watch pillows, and watch them go to sleep each night. 6 to 9 months later, I can ship them back to you for a modest fee of $25. But I promise you, each night as I watch your watches to sleep, it will be full of TLC. does anyone want my new service?

looks like good old times there guys. glad you guys got together and spent some quality time together. a lot of great pieces there that certainly made me jealous, wish I had acquired them.

Props to the admin team on the difficult decision they had to collectively make. but threats should never be tolerated in this place. As TT have said, "wounds are deep", and like many other admins have said, there are a lot of things that went behind the scene that we do not know about. it's the right decision to make, and since Neil had never scam anyone, I certainly hope everyone that had participated in the group buy will get their watches. Keep up the good work, admin team. we are lucky to have you guys look out for the forum's best interests......
