Just Curious... What Other Pam Models Do You Guys Want???
woody replied to trustywatchguy's topic in General Discussion
I have "borrowed" some pics of the dial and movement shots on the 185 from TZ. I think the dial on the 185 is different, and possibly better than the 184. The key to making a good one on these 2 models would be proper date font and magnification, and if we can do the proper rotor and movement decoration, that would be good too, however, it would be difficult. But anyone who took a look at the pictures below, would drool for a 184 or 185 (preferred dial). what do you guys think? it looks freakin sexy...and can be dress up and down with this watch. -

Is there a rep that you would wear into an AD?

Gen PAM Crowns - No More Requests Being Accepted
woody replied to Watchmeister's topic in The Panerai Area
Hi Kruzer, If you can find out if other finish are available, that would be great too. If it is just the polished steel crowns, I am in for 2 for sure if they would fit my 6497s. Thank you. -
Chronus, so the 17 jewel one is just a older 7750 variant is that correct? Also, does the 17 jewel also beat at 28800? was wondering if you would know about something about that.
-
No rep my friend, at that price, just get the GEN baby!!!
-
So, I was just browsing on the "hay" and was looking at some ETA 7750 for some possible projects. I found this seller, selling used stock of 7750, but as a 17 jewel movement. To my knowledge, the 7750 has always been a 25 jewel movement, so I wanted to know, am I missing something? Is there some sort of different variations of the 7750s floating around, or is the 17 jewel just happens to be older version of the 7750? I even saw one of our fellow member that bought a movement from this seller. If any one that is equipped with such movement knowledge, please let me know what the heck is going on with the difference on 17 vs 25 jewels. Thank you.

Can anyone tell me if we can source these parts from say, Ofrei.com by any chance? I was not able to locate those parts on that site. If anyone can point that out, I would appreciate it.

everybody all chill here, and let mr. noob there figure out himself. and if he really stumbles on the search function and can't find what he is looking for, let'e just have him PM slay. And slay if you can just refrain to total hand holding this new member, I think the board would appreciate it. I think the problem would then be solved. We can't have all this argument and anger on a Monday, it is just the first day of the week!! Have a good week everyone!

Great gesture Randy and the new owner of this will be very, very happy!

After seeing all those posts, I was beginning to worry for a bit, mine left China to U.S. on 4/29. And it just kept showing that it had left China, but no update since then. This morning, when I looked, it said that it was into customs. When I went to lunch, I had a slip by post office that it was in their possesion already. And I picked it up about an hour ago, so really sometimes, you could get it before any other notification on the net shows. hope that can relieve stress for some of you.

How bad does it have to be before you return it?
woody replied to flamemax's topic in General Discussion
hi flame, bust out some pics, and we may be able to judge for you there..... -
RT, what you said, reminded me of that another member screwed Arthur over on the 1680 deal, then make good of it later by taking care of the issue. But the simple fact, from square one, is that it should have never happened in the first place......

No one is saying not to praise Joe for his good work, but if you have dissatisfied members, and the topics keep popping back up, that is an alarming trend. For you, there may not have been a problem, but I think other people are trying to say, it's kind of like sending watches through customs, there are risks involved. At the very beginning, I was going to have my watch modded by Joe, but as I kept reading, I saw the risks that are involved, and decided to not do it. I think after all, if there is a 70 to 30 percent chance of having extended delay, and I think that is being very generous, then you just need to ask yourself, if it is all worth it. And as mods of the forum, they are to look out for the best interests, and govern if needed. From a probablity issue, it's just not good odds when you are sending watches in for work, just my 2 cents.
-
wow, a few hours and I missed out all of this new development? what is confusing to me, not that Joe is reading this, is that if he is sick and are off due to certain emergency, why can't you just stop taking watches in, instead of having more watches come in and built up a big list that you cannot work on? I know if I knew ahead of time, then don't get my watch back, it's one thing, then to not know anything about it, then have to call, email, to get my watch back, that would just kill me........
-
Let the praise continue fellas! First off, I did not know Randy is "distancing" himself. That shows you how much I am out of the loop. Ubi has always provide great knowledge and contribution to this forum. And he is always, always selfless, always there to help lots of lots of members, including noobs if I remember correctly. Speaking of which, Randy, I had recently sent you an email with the remaining project I have in mind for my 1680, or 1665, if you can answer that, I would really appreciate it. If you are not able to, you can maybe just say you don't have time to answer in this via PM, that would do too. Don't want to detract from the thread. But if I have not thanked you officially in the past, just wanted to say, along with the other members on this thread. We thank you for all of the help you have offered thus far in the forum. have a good weekend everyone!

popcorn back in my hands........

1665s have no "polex", only the 1680s have them, according to something I read a long time ago, I think, from Randy.

Well I guess I made a mistake...but not again...
woody replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
wow panerailord, that was not very cool. if The Zigmeister give you a second chance, you could have at least send 1 email to let him know the current update, such as you don't have the watch. That way, The Zigmeister can schedule more work in, create less down time, and wait for you when you can send your precious watch in. that's all he asks for, no more, no less. you could have done just 1 small thing, but you chose to ignore. so you are either too many emails all at once, or no email at all. I think you really need to find a nice balance to keep the communications, but you really blew it on this one.... -
I wonder who is that son of a gun that is so lucky......I am jealous.....

a truly sad week thus far here in the states. Condolences to the deceased, the family members, and the community. I really hope through this painful experience, we can modify the legal system and the mental health system here, so we can avoid tragedies like this from happening in the future.

I don't have one of the Silberstein's, but what is so funny to you any way that you want to laugh at other people's watch, as long as it's not some true bad canal st. rep, it's all fair game here in my opinion.

again 2manywatches, how about some pics to show us the bad job of lume (which you now have clarified that it is not), and how about pictures of your friend's gen & your 196. The Zigmeister did my 196 as well. great job. but I'd like to see the RBJ lume job also.....how about pictures of those as well?
