IWC BP versus PAM 233? - Further Question
woody replied to Watchmeister's topic in General Discussion
BP it is! I just cannot get used to the power reserve on the 233, that "meter".... yikes, it's just not for me, am I the only one that do not like that power reserve meter? I thought it looked really tacky and taken away some of the simplicity that it has going for Panerai. I would say 190 also, but if your friend has the 183, then no, I can't see you recommending that one to him. back to BP again, I would get the older version of the BP instead of the current version also, just my thoughts on this... -
Bottom line is armin, if you don't want to get called out, whether or not by a so called "expert", then stop wearing Rolex. wear rolex if you think you can pull it off, or it's just a bad idea. this "friend" of yours just wanted to be a big shot and wanted to call you out and make him look like the man. like many other posters said, this guy does not know a real rolex from a fake, much like you can tell a fake Birkin from a real one. don't sweat it, they are just reps, and I'd be careful to hang out with this guy, does not sound much of a friend, more of a companion, at best. enjoy your watch, ultimately it is up to you, as long as you like it, forget what others said, unless it bothers you that much.

nice sporty watch. I like it better than those new Baumes that we've been seeing.......

Hi Lello, will these dw fit my unusual ETA2824-2 MBW 1680? I have one of the only few special (aka strange) 1680 that has the 2824, and I was just curious to see if these DWs would still fit. if it doesn't, I'd still take at least one since I have a 1665 that I "think" has the 2836 inside, ready to be swapped out with a 2846. but this is exciting news indeed. I also still have my 2 watchmeister's DWs too, but they are just sitting around right now. I think I'll wait a bit to see how this project turns out! Good news to all of us I'd say.....

I thought Dreamworks had signed onto the HD-DVD camp, and that is going to make a comeback for the HD-DVD people. Did I not get that story correct?
-
short answer is yes, you have to buy it separately, then send it off for AR, and ETA wheels. Please do a little more searching, and you'll see one place that you can send off for the work being done to it. as far as who to get it from, just pay attention to who sells the 21.6k model and who sells the 28.8k model. to be more accurate, you should aim for the 28.8k model, which tends to cost slightly more. good luck and welcome to the forum.

can't wait for my 3717 to look like that, great job chief!!

Hi Joshua, since you are participating in this particular thread, would you happen to know about the fiasco about this new movement in 3717 that we are seeing? if you or any of the dealer are aware of this "developing" trend? thanks! Mystery movement thread

Keep your eyes open for the latest Asian clone, of a Clone.
woody replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
as I am Chinese, the only thing that I can think of the factories made it this way is to make more money, while give the impression that you are buying a high quality merchandise. it is not strange for the Chinese to recycle parts, if they can get away with it. sad to say it, but it is true. given how the society is brought up, generally poor, they are always there to make a buck. for example, when you go to a Chinese restaurant, and they serve you fruit, after your meal, just keep in mind, that it may have come from other customer's table, that they could not finish, and the restaurant would serve it to you any way. To them, it's the mentality of "why waste this, when the customer don't know about it any way!" we are fortunate to have Rob around, and give us his thoughts as he sees all kinds of movements in and out. because honestly, if I bought a this 3717 that was advertised as high beat, but opened it up and it looks like that, I would ask the dealer, and the dealer would probably just tell us, "hey, this is a new hybrid movement that we are producing." then what's a guy like me to do? I am no movement expert like the Zigman, and I would just probably say, "ok, my fault" and went on to my merry life. unless I can detect that slower 21.6k beat that is, then I would complain some more. it's too bad that the dealer or the factory can be doing this to us. Perhaps the dealer don't even know about it, but how are we going to find out who is doing the shady work? it would just be a daunting task to do. But, going back to the main point here, thank you Rob for giving us some clues to look for on these cloney clones...... -
greetings guys and gals, I am getting ready to ship off my FM Casablanca for some TLC to the master up in Canada, I was wondering if there's anyone that has owned a gen FM before, or an expert when it comes to FM. I would like to know if FM uses C1 or C3 for their superluminova. I am confused, some of the ones I've seen on the internet is kind of green, and some others are kind of white. anyone that have some knowledge on this, I would greatly appreciate it. This is the watch that I was referening to. Casablanca

Hi Rob, I am one of those folks that you have mentioned above. And I had already spoken to Jennifer about this on a email a few days back. Should I send another email with that title again? I can do it again, just let me know. I just don't want to confuse some more. And Chief, that will be 1 crystal for me.

IWC 3717: Genuine day/date wheels, genuine AR and a strap
woody replied to Stephane's topic in The IWC Area
Great stuff Stephane, I was thinking about wearing my 005 to work today. but after this early rise out of bed, I think I am going to bust out my newly acquired black croc, and slap it on my 3717 and wear that combo today!! The 005 can wait another day. Congrats. I have all of the mods, less the AR at this time due to bad timing. But I'd be sure to hop on the next AR run. -
An open letter from Ziggy to the members of RWG.
woody replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
wow, I can't believe I missed this read while I was traveling on the plane coming back to the states. I am very sad to hear about the news Rob. But again, I can certainly understand where you are coming from. getting attacked for no valid reasons, who really wants to deal with that? and I think you have a break here that is well deserved after all of your contributions. Rob is so skillful that if I would have my gens serviced by him versus taking it to the AD. not only because I know that Rob does it at a reasonable price, but he really is that knowledgeable and competent. this forum will miss you dearly, and please come back whenever you'd like, and I hope to chat with you some more on the emails side. and please don't let the some of the trolls here bring you down. have a great holiday! -
how long is the warranty? I have a lot of doubts about these winders. I got one from ebay (8 watch winders) that lasted less than 6 months. if you can find out how long the warranty are on these, I would be interested. and is only the 2 watch one available? or is there a 4 watch winders as well? Thanks.

any pics with lello's breitling datewheels?
woody replied to italiano17771's topic in The Breitling Area
I think sunken datewheel only applies to Navitimer that has the 3, 6, 9 layout. and I don't think this would solve the Navitimer's issues, but I am not 100% sure, perhaps others can chime in. I have attached some of my BCE with Lello wheel, as you can see, it's not perfect, but Lello said he would correct that. Great guy to deal with. -
any pics with lello's breitling datewheels?
woody replied to italiano17771's topic in The Breitling Area
sorry guys, I have had mine for some time now, and wanted to post. But as soon as I've got mine back from Zig, I was off to travel. as I am still off traveling now, I hope maybe I can take a pic or two to contribute too. but mine is not printed as correctly in some dates, but still, would not hesitate to recommend Lello's wheel. anybody that has a BCE should think about this upgrade. -
If anyone is thinking of getting full movement service....
woody replied to 911RS's topic in The Omega Area
Hi Rob, Greetings from Taiwan!! I am out visiting my family out here. Thought I'd say hello to everyone. And going back to topic, yes, after a movement, it's does make for a difference especially if your movement's previous state is not that "great". I had an Asian 127 serviced by Rob, and you can just simply "feel" that difference, when you manually wind that puppy up. before the service, you can feel that while winding it, it feels slightly rougher, but once it is serviced, the winding action became a lot more smoother, and you're set for another 5 years, not having to worry. congrats on your UPO receiving the "cleanse"! It's good for its soul.....
