  1. wow, I am never going to be able to tell. is this something new, what is a full ceramic, and what is a sandwich ceramic?
  2. All I saw was some nice wet ones. And that watch is not bad too! =)
  3. ahhh, karma, yes, pho, you did the right thing. I don't think I'll ever be able to sleep right if I pull something like that. If anyone should know about karma, it should be me right? just look at my avatar! =) cool story nonetheless, it's like one of those fantasy that you have in your dreams, every now and then.......
  4. don't count on being right...... it will be somewhat close, but just enough to make you want to pull out all of your hair! and I am curious to know how they will duplicate the lume, as the true deepsea have a blue lume instead of typical c1/c3 flavor.........
  5. Euno, based on what you said, does this mean that V2 with working power reserve is actually less accurate. If so, what is different from version 1 to version 2? Thx!
  6. hey E, I think I asked this in the wrist check thread; is this version 2 with working power reserve? how is the fit and finish on it? can you comment on that? and how long does the reserve last?
  7. Looking at all these GMT IIc pictures make me sad; I wonder when mine will ever show up. If ever. My collector told me that the factory is short on supplies of the Asian GMT IIc, so I really don't know when they will get their hands on it to ship it to me......... but, to put in happier mood, I am wearing mine all ETA spec'd 3717, sorry I do not have a picture handy at work. HAGWE.....
  8. Euno, is that version 2 of the BP with working power reserve? and how is the datefont on it?
  9. Great job on the lume as always, like others have said Rob. Reminds me of my BCE. by the way Rob, I had sent you an email to see if I can book an appointment. Can you possibly have J check into this and let me know? greatly appreciated!
  10. Thanks A.W.B and surfer with both your suggestions/recommendations. Surfer, if you can send me an email to watchguy1860 at gmail, I would greatly appreciate it. and AWB, I will certainly give that a try, there is no harm to try it on a dead movement right?
  11. is this the "my girlfriend left me" thread or the "GGG" thread. trust me, I am not complaining. I posted in earlier pages, coming back to follow up and see if skool have posted, and now I find all these gems of pictures?!!! LOL, it's like X'mas coming early. But nonetheless, I am still at work, so if Blade want to upload some more, I am all for it. Just give me some time so I can look at them when I'm done working.
  12. is she hot or is she not hot? pics or it didn't happen!
  13. hey guys, what kind of tools would one need if I was to go down the route to swap the movement. I assume hand removal tool, and what other tools? I tried searching for tutorials, but I did not have any luck on finding it. maybe my search string was not very well thought out. I think I tried movement swap, and other terms like DG2813, but was not able to find any. I did run across the ajoesmith article last week, but since I can't view the pictures either, I kind of just gave up. and part of my big no no was not I was trying to adjust the regulator on the DG2813 while the movement is still running! a noob mistake, to be sure, now that I have time to reflect back. my friend is about to give up the watch and said to me that if I can't fix it, he'll chalk it up, and I may just sell the parts to recoup some money back for him. just how hard/easy would a movement swap be? and is a loupe needed for this kind of thing? I've been trying everything with my naked 4 eyes, (and my moustache of course) and at times it was kind of difficult to see........haha
  14. Hi R and TT, I've been talking to Rocket about this actually. I may plan a trip out to Colorado "possibly" around January, but still very tentative right now. I asked him if I was there if we can plan a GTG like what you guys have back then, he said it may be a possibility. I will be sure to be jealous about this upcoming GTG too. But I certainly hope to make it down to Colorado next year, so we can meet up....
  15. so I tried repairing my friend's noobmariner since the white marker fell off the 12 o'clock slot; I've never done any repairs before, but I figured if I was able to open the caseback and remove the movement out of the case, I might have a shot. I have pretty good success, in removing the movement back and glue the white marker back and put everything back in place. Since the noobmariner was also running at 2 minutes slower per 24 hour, I finally realized that what it appeared to be a DG2813 also have a regulator. I move the lever quite drastically last night; and when I checked the time today, it was way, way off at +10 minutes already, and here is where the story comes in......... I opened the case again and tried to adjust the lever counter clockwise again to slow it down, but I was using the screwdriver carelessly, and while I was adjusting it, I dipped the screwdriver slightly too deep, and poked the "mainspring" or "hairspring" (excuse my noob watchsmith talk here) and saw the movement stopped momentarily, I touched it ever slightly and it started moving again. I closed the watch back, but soon after that the movement stopped. I took the caseback out and took a closer look, and saw the the spring which would be perfectly wound in a nice swirled pattern was messed up by the screwdriver overall, and part of the tiny spring is completely out of shape, and the watch is just not moving all that much now. So my question now, is this; is the DG2813 a complete goner? anything that I can do to save the movement? or is it a lost cause? would we have to get another movement if I really want to fix this? since what I consider to be a guess a routine fix, and I screwed it up, I have no confidence at all on swapping it out for another movement, so my main question would still be is there anyway, or an easy way to fix what I messed up on? any recommendations are welcome as always. thanks for reading this long story. Happy upcoming week fellas, and ladies..........
  16. I echoed with Teejay and Toad on this. I have a VCO, black dial, maybe it was the first gen, 40mm, got it lumed by zigman even, and wore a few times, and just didn't feel that passionate about it. I don't know if some of the inaccuracy was bothering me or not, namely the size, and the buckle. But it just didn't feel right. I think it may have felt slightly smaller, and just was not impressed. The other would be my Cartier Santos 100, got that lumed too by The Zigmeister, and just does not feel very comfortable on my wrist. and I still have it. ETA movement and all, and now it just sits in the watchbox. anybody want to buy a santos?
  17. whatever it is R, I think I may be interested, cause I know it will be a fantastic piece. I think the only problem would be how a noob will deal with posts like this, and how they would post one on their own accord, as well.
  18. like many others that have echoed before me; "pics or it didn't happen!"
  19. who has the best sub?!!! oh noes, am I too late to the party? R, you are so nice. I am surprised that the rest of the guys have not lit up on this thread yet.
  20. very very nice V, impressive pair of gens, and along with your endless supply of straps it seems. the possibilities are literally endless. makes my head hurts just thinking about the straps that you'll end up putting on these babies!
  21. Hike, Is there any particular reason why one should turn it forward for 3 days? I am sure there are legitimate reasons, is it to break the gear somewhat in? I would definitely use that logic to adjust the timezone. I never touch the other two; looked at it, and they are both back in the bubble wraps. Will take some pics this evening so I can send the pics to the dealer. When it went wrong the first time, I had attached the pics and send it to the dealer. They apologized and promised to do it right. Then this happened again. I will take the picture with the watches side by side and just show how frustrated this experience has been. Thanks for all the encouragements guys. It's as if I am looking to receive a holy grail watch. The sweat, and the anticipation!
