Does anyone still have stuff owed by Rocketeer?
jmarin.72 replied to DemonSlayer's topic in General Discussion
I was one of the few lucky ones who got my watch back with a Gen CT AR treatment.I really can't understand what happened nor why some of us got their watches back. Come to think about it now i agree 100% with Ubi's post, something must have been gone totally wrong and somehow he managed to mess things up. We all remember that some of the crystals returned had a whole different AR quality from the one CT is providing,so my guess is that he must have tried to AR those crystals using a local lab...just a thought. All i can wish for is for a happy ending with this story DS. J -

[quote name='TeeJay' date='03 May 2010 - 02:29 PM' timestamp='1272886142' post='830986' I do buy watches with modding in mind, but my take on modding is more along the model-builder's ethos of 'kit-bashing' rather than modifying a watch for the goal of bringing it closer to the genuine original.

Well i was surprised to find not one but two packets of Haribo's in the package!!! As for the brand i hope this helps Revue Thommen - Timepieces Of Tradition & Technology Only a few firms in the Swiss watch industry can look back on such a long tradition as Revue Thommen. The firm, Revue Thommen, was founded in 1853 by Gedeon Thommen and it developed into one of the leading companies in this sector. In the early days, only wristwatches and pocket watches were produced. They relied exclusively on their own movements, as was only fitting. Around 1920, Revue Thommen also decided to start producing instruments for the aviation industry. This segment was constantly expanded, and today, Revue Thommen -

jmarin.72 posted a topic in General Discussion
OK guys,i need your trustworthy opinions here I got an ETA 7750 taken out of my 3789 when i replaced it with a gen 79320 and got some day/date wheels (both black fonts on white and white fonts on black)coming from Cousins and i am looking for my next project. I can order parts from PT,done it before and every time it was an excellent deal with him. So now the big question is...what should i built?I was thinking of a slevin but i could really use your opinions as well.So please do chime in and give me some good ideas!!! Thanks family J -

I don't think it is a matter of gen/rep,no matter what,if the ceramic case is dropped at the wrong angle there are pretty good chances to break, this has been discused in gen forums as well In my case it landed on the tip of the lug,the strap was not mounted on the case at the time, which was the main factor for the damage. If the strap was on chances are the lug would have survived the fall.
-
+1 for ceramic is that this material is hard to scratch and even if this happens it is reversable with a simple rubber eraser!!! but -1...this thing is brittle and can break easily if it falls at a wrong angle...my V1 case broke just like that when the watch fell on the floor
-
Well whatever he uses as a lume base one thing is sure....this thing is strong

Thanks MP. Yes Domi relumed it for me,he did a great job although on the hands there seem to be some uneven lume fills or small holes left by bubbles during application, this is visible only under certain light conditions so it does not bother me,but i will try to source a gen pair of hands.I don't know what he is using (SL or Tritec)but the lumed areas seem to remain visible in the dark more than 10 hours, with only a few minutes of exposure to daylight I will definitely use his lume skills for future projects without any doubt Here's a lume shot P.S I have just tried to erase with a rubber eraser the scratches made the same way as yours on the back side of the lugs and also on a small area of the caseback and it worked like a charm !!! thanks for the tip mate
