Thanks Offshore for the story so far. I cant wait to here about the rest of your trip In the land of rising reps Mike (ps) I hope the girl who gave you the massage didn't rub you the wrong way or If you like "she rub you long time" Mike
I agree with you TeeJay. Im not saying gens are not worth the outragious prices they ask, Im saying that I dont think they are on a personal level. A rep will do just fine thanks. One day I would not mind buying a Breitling SW or a Omega Po chrono. They can be found on the secondary market for around $2.500- $1.500 respectively. Although I would have think about It long and hard as I really like my reps. As far as building my own one day, well Im not quite ready for that Mike
I would have to disagree with you on the cheep chrono(7750) movements. There are many of these movements sold every month and very few complants. I have five 7750's and they are doing just fine. Please dont take my word for It. There Is always the the Zig. He Is very fond of this movement (7750) and says that they can last and do last for years If serviced about every four to five years or so. The first service should be with In the first 12 months of receiving the watch. Due to the lack of sanatary conditions at the rep factories. Also said watch could have been sitting around for years and be In need of proper lubercation. I dont think there Is anyone who knows more about movements than the Zig. Were buying watches for pennies on the dollar so ya, there will be a bad watch from time to time. If you stick to the recommend dealers here at RWG and you get a bad watch that dealer will most likely make it right. Just trying to add to the post count here Mike
Im sorry to hear about your back. I had a L4 desk removed about 10 years ago. Once In a while It acts up and can be a real mother %#$@ to deal with. My back go's out more then I do Good luck with everything Mike
The Seiko Is a very good choice. There dependable and on time. Im sure your prospective future employer will think the same of you, good luck with the Interview. Mike
Welcome to RWG Jack. All I can say Is "you have found the very best rep or gen watch forum In cyberspace". Toads Noob Guide Is a great place to start, happy hunting and good luck, your going to need It Mike
Im sorry you lost your job but Im glad your still able to enjoy are little hobby. I try to purchase the better movement watches when i can. They just seem to be better overall. That could be just my perception. There are some desent cheeper watches out there, I guess It's just doing your research to see what makes some watches better then others, Sapphire crystals vs mineral, etc ect Mike
Now that Is really cheep for such a movement. I saw a Philips for $498.00. I never thought I would see that price beat. Dam the movement alone Is worth more than that Mike
Im not a 100% sure why other members have not been posting as much as they once were. The reason Im not here as much as before Is I am having a lot of problems with the new system. I sometimes have to wait 3-5 min If not longer for anything to happen,It's very frusrating. I have tryed to reconfigure my firewall and the firefox thing but nothing seems to be helping much. I dont think this drop In activity Is by happenstance. Take a look at the borad before the upgrade and then take a look at It after, there seems to be a conection. It Is better now then It was so I will try to remain hopeful. Mike
Welcome to RWG p-Lund. The rolex Is a popular choice and a good one at that. When I arrived here I knew nothing about watch brands or movements. My first purchase was the Omega Po chrono quartz. I use the watch now as a beater. I wish I would have got the auto. The quartz just feels so wrong In this watch because It Is, your Rolo Is a much better first choice. Here Is to your first of many reps. Mike
Nice little review, simple and to the point. I dont see anything that would prevent me from purchasing this watch, especialy at this price, thanks again. Mike
I had to check around for about two weeks before i found a watchsmith/repair person to work on my reps. I found the best places are the neighborhood mall. Stay away from AD's and any place that sell high end pieces. The way the economy Is now there are more opportunities out there for us rep enthusiasts to have are watches repaired/serviced. Mike
