So I was at my favorite AD over the weekend. I am talking to my usual salesperson when this guy walks up to the Panerai display. He had his girlfriend in tow, whom I am guessing he was trying to impress.
He proceeds to try on a PAM, and sits his YM Rep on the "pad" provided by the other sales rep. At this point I am arms length away from him and the YM.
Within seconds I notice, flat/flush with bezel crystal, wrong date mag, and a choppy 21J movement. My sales rep catches me checking it out, and looks over as well. Looks back at me, smiles, and shakes head. Nothing is said, nothing needs to be.
The girlfriend seems impressing he is looking at such an expensive watch.
The AD's are not as dumb as you might think. Especially with the obvious low end stuff.
Friendly reminder-- don't take a rep to the AD.
