  1. I have to say that the bezel screws and tolerances to the bezel face are INCREDIBLE!
  2. all the latest Ebel 1911 use Ebel 137 In-house movement and not 134 El Primero Movement. Double check the movement as the chrono layout is the same. It does not have to be a BTR 1911 to use a 137. cheers
  3. if i remember correctly.. the cartel at one time made a very limited run of 1:1 Serie Specials with Swiss 7750 and correct brushed cases from the factory. Rare as hens teeth as his was years ago before all the modern day rep advances.
  4. +1 tutima the rep crystals are NOT the same quality of the gen crystals so while the gen may not have AR, AR on the rep does gives a more visible pop to the watch.
  5. i cannot believe it! you have been on the boards since '06 and this is your FIRST PAM!!
  6. +++X5 V8s and always get the 8s as the mileage is the same as the 3.0s.. (check the EPAs) now a DEFENDER is another story.
  7. i love these technical posts. thank you very much for the time and pictures in this writeup! cheers! D110
  8. what the heck is this: I SPOT A EVEREADY BATTERY on that workbench! LOL our special package has arrived. i will send a PM soon friend. D110 USA
  9. to quote: 'get a gen as no rep will ever make you happy' if you cannot bring yourself to purchase a gen Hubl. then get a Gen of something else... then purchase ONE replica watch and enjoy and examine it for 30days... after 30days re-examine your purpose in asking the questions above... (because for any serious WIS if will never pass as gen even with mods, but for 99.9999999% of the population an off the self rep with no mods will pass any day) note that most serious collectors here on the forums enjoy watches for what they are: TIMEKEEPERS. they enjoy replica and genuines alike and collect both, and they NEVER pass off a replica as a GENUINE even with modification. i say with assuredness that many of the serious wis here have more money in a Grail Franken then the average price of a swiss genuine.
  10. excellent! after owning the rep version of this on QUARTZ (yes they did make a QUARTZ verson rep).. i had to get the GEN. the GEN is a great watch for the $$.. I have the Orange version w/ Orange bezel (the one you have rep of). I get most compliments on this PO of all my gens.
  11. is the maker of the latest 111 the maker of this 177? the 111 is better than this 177 in many areas #1 different movement installed in each. however this item is less then dial/crystal/movement/CG/crown if sourced separately! it is a buy, just not as is for the seasoned WIS collector
  12. Cool short video / advertisement for Omega on the PO Limited Edition LiquidMetal bezel making
  13. that DW lines up perfectly. must have a gen LWO movement as well w/ case mods for the fitment. not just a gen dial installation
  14. look at that it looks like RWG has reunited a family! what a wonderful story please tell us more Supremej and Debbo...
  15. back from the honeymoon I take. glad to see that your projects havn't been forgotten now that you have a new first love. welcome back. D110
  16. whats the deal with all the Watch Brand clocks on the BAY?? a few years ago i posted a gen clock i had from AD friend of mine and immediately it got yanked. I was *&^#$%. I see that all the SELLERS are located in CANADA. what gives? with certainty are these Genuine or Reps? The panerai ones do look different from the ones offered from the known rep dealers...
  17. Quick cell phone pics from my office w. Panerai 188 Please note: GP is 20mm + thick. this thing is thick! The crystal is unlike any other gen I own. It surpasses even the best CT crystals which i previously thought blew any gen away! (this is also additionally surprising because the crystal is SO thick as well) LUME = torch. Surpasses any Panerai or Omega PO I have. You can see on the right side of the GP where the lume is bursting to glow in the shade of the rehault! It fits V E R Y comfortably on the wrist, and is lighter IMO than the pam 192 TI or a GEN Breitling CA Ti, it feels like nothing practically. oh yeah... TWO HE Valves. WHY you ask? GP's response.. because 'We can and NO one else does'.
  18. why do i keep buying gens. oh yeah.. the movement, the movement, the movement. but i guess with service i can live with it. too bad an eta7753 wont swap in because of the pusher depth alignment. Very Nice Pictures, and nice to hear that the strap is superb.
  19. And now I OWN ONE. PRO II on Brown Leather. I like this leather version much more as the case is and bezel indices are polished providing a nice contrast.. probably the same reason i like the PAM192 so much after all these years so much so that i never have had any other luminors except daylights and power reserve/gmts with bezel engravings. quality, value, and GENUINE. thanks! will post pics later... like side by sides w/ 44mm PAM ..... like a need another watch
  20. looking for current values for Cal 72 used/nos conditions, and current overhaul/service rate while were at it any ideas on El Primero values NOS/used and overhaul rates? thank you in advance. D110
  21. @ redwatch. original 44mm Hublots use a ETA 7750 with a modified chrono layout... VERY SIMILAR TO THE REPS. that is way the Gen 44mm Hublos had a SUNKEN DW. just like the ASIAN crappers. for the OP: GEN ETA 7750 has 6-9-12 layout GEN ETA 7753 has 3-6-9 layout with NO sunken DW as GENUINE ie: NAVITIMER and DAYLIGHTs modified A7750 or ETA7750 for 3-6-9 layout will have a sunken DW either because of chrono module or transmission gear modification. however many watches have a 3-6-9 chrono layout and do not use either of these movements. hope that helps!
  22. thank you for the write up! After contemplating this latest I began to think of the movement... And you answered my question with this review! Did they use the LATEST and GREATEST A7753 or the old hacked/modified incorrect height A7750 with moved totalisers i would have loved to make a ETA7753 powered frank it they used the A7753 instead of the hacked A7750 that is the wrong thickness necessitating an incorrect case thickness and pusher location.
  23. Congratulations to you and your bride! This is a Very Happy Occasion. Enjoy the honeymoon and the company. Absolutly nothing to be nervous about. Best Wishes!
  24. surprising this and not a luminor caseset and HAVE THEY UPGRADED the tooling for the CROWN and TUBE? i hate to have it strip out like all the others.
