  1. That one from Lingling is great - I've got one and the movement feels great - little bit rough when adjusting the GMT hand but date changes are fine, as it adjusting the time :)

Bracelet is good quality, watch feels like a quality piece overall!

I'm not sure if it's mineral glass, I can only assume so at the price, but it's not a green-tint, whatever :)

  2. One of the ones on the face?

You might have some luck if you ask all the dealers, but for such a small item it may not be worth their while, even if you order, say, 4 as spares.

Also, I would imagine that there might be different screw thread sizes in the different models - I know that the strap lug screws seem to differ between different models available, and none seem to be the gen 1.3mm hex head...

    Hope you can find something!

  3. Ok, I've been looking around and struggling to find anything off the shelf still...

But I have found that apparently Shell Cordovan leather is excellent, and is found on Nomos (Glashutte??) watches:

Such a strap looks more obtainable than a gen Senator Sixties strap, as Glashutte seems a bit high end to be flogging stuff online to random people! I'm not sure I could blag it in a shop either... lol

I do like the original strap though:

but the alternative is also nice!

Either way, I think a custom strap from a chap on here will be much cheaper! lol

  4. I'm curious as to whether anyone who has had a DLC upgrade has experienced a subsequent failure...

I've purchased a few unused seconds-at-six movement from Concepta, and I'm thinking about performing the DLC upgrades, so they can just be directly installed in these Portos.

Would that be DLC + graphite?

I think you may well have a market for such an offer as they would be cheaper than a gen movement and would fix a lot of broken Portos! :)

Would you be allowed to start a 'guaging interest' thread to see? You could take a deposit for the cost of the DLC work so you're not out of pocket, and if people default on paying for the end product, you could still sell the finished movements at no real loss to yourself :)

  5. This watch has, somehow, completely passed me by until I saw a wristy today - and now I want one... lol

This post is perfect for helping determine what those of us with less Breitling knowledge than others need to be looking for when we buy!

Thank you for taking the time to compile it, it's very much appreciated! :)

  6. According to Tritec, production results in a small quantity of C3 which has brighter glow and is longer lasting than the rest, they separate this from the other stuff, add 50% to the price, and people like me buy it to test it out... :) I think it's just variability in production like you suggest.

    How strange!

I wonder if they are researching why this happens, and then working out how to apply it to all their lume! :)

  7. My opinion- If price is a concern, I would advise that you just save your cash until you're ready to pay the price for a WM9. Don't waste your money on cheaper alternatives; you'll only be disappointed and you'll be putting off the inevitable.

    +1 on that sentiment.

"You buy cheap, you buy twice."

Save harder - it will be worth the wait!!
