  1. The only problem with this countermeasure is that for some of us (well at least me anyway) work computers are locked down by the IT department and I cannot install anything. So I am stuck with the Clean Cut (Import) option. Not ideal but it works.
  2. Looks like a V2. Generally speaking I would have to agree with Bike Mike if you are only looking for a test drive prior to pulling the trigger on the gen. However, if you want the full effect go for the V2...after that you may decide it isn't worth doing the gen
  3. Worst case you could always throw some heat at the link. Ideally expanding it ever so slightly to loosen up the screw. However, be cautious how you apply the heat especially since it has been soaking up some chemicals
  4. Good eyes gents. I think I need to up the resolution on my monitor. I have to retract my earlier statement as after closer inspection I have to concur with ubi and tech. Sorry about that. As tech said a close up of the shock would help.
  5. Ahhh yes. I see your point. Dang! Now what to do?
  6. Looks really nice. The LED at 12 is a very cool touch. Soul or not definitely a keeper. Besides you need something to set your mechanicals too
  7. Just got mine yesterday. Sorry no pics...same as above. I picked it up second hand (but mint) as it seemed like a good deal and thought I should try out a sub. Well I have to say that I love the feel of the sub. What a classy piece. Only thing for me is the crappy pearl. Gonna hit WM later tonight to order up a new one. Anyone have any pointers for replacing a pearl on a ceramic bezel?
  8. Like TT said....good price if it's a new one.
  9. Beautiful shots! Nice collection too. Thanks for sharing.
  10. My understanding is that this is common on the SOH with clone 2824. I have one and it does the same thing. The workaround is to pull the crown out to time set position after setting the date and then pushing the crown in to tighten it to the case. I can't explain why this works but it does. I have even taken apart my SOH and checked the stem and keyless works and all looks good. I gave up trying to fix it and just do the procedure as mentioned above. Cheers
  11. Congrats and thanks for your posts. They are uplifting on so many levels!
  12. Tough call. Depends on your motivation for going gen I guess (ie: what do you gain?). Aside from maybe exchanging the movement on this to a gen ETA I'm not sure what else the gen SA would offer over and above what you've got. And I'm sure you could do a movement swap for much less then the cost of upgrading. To answer your question....Dunno
  13. Getat is very good and so are their prices. Even their straps are quite nice. My friend ordered a complete set of parts including movement and they arrived within a week of ordering. They also do some custom stuff that is not listed on their website (superluminova of dial for one) so contact them with any special request you may have....you may be suprised what they will do for you. Cheers!
  14. Good find. Nice that it was a relatively simple fix. I'm sure this will help others diagnose in the future. Cheers!
  15. Not bad at all! Good option for the budget minded. Thanks for sharing the vendor site too. Cheers
  16. Looks great! Nice work. Canon pinion looks a little too shiney though You'll have to fill us in on some of your techniques.
  17. Great pics as always Lani. I also appreciate your "homework" in studying the deposition details. Thanks for that. I still can't get over the lume dots. They look fabulous. If this is what we can start to expect then 2010 is going to be a great year for reps!
  18. I don't think you can prevent the rotor from spinning by over tightening the screw. Worst case you may damage the screw or the thread receiving it. However, if you really put some force while tightening the screw I suppose it may be possible to damage the auto winding module. Chances are good that you are OK. My only curiosity is that you lubed an ETA rotor? Typically this is unnecessary as the real deal has what it needs. There should be some noise coming from your rotor esp if 7750 as they are notorious for their sound. Cheers
  19. Happy new year all! Keep your stick on the ice tonight and get home safe!
  20. Definitely needs to be a statement watch so one more vote for the Graham.
