  1. Any thoughts, brown or black strap?
  2. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger. I've wanted this watch for a while. Looks beautiful. What do you guys think, brown or black leather strap? The black looks great with the dial, but I have a brown croc strap on my SOSF (with black dial), that looks nice, too. Is either more accurate?

Considering buying something new, love the new MM but was asking Joshua about a few spare things I need and mentioning my interest in the BP. His response was that there would be "something interesting in a few weeks". He's teased me that way before, this has me ready to order now. Keep your eyes peeled!
  4. I've been holding out for one. It's the one I'd really love to own. Is it so hard to put on a power reserve module? It's done on other watches, even some of the Pams.
  5. I bought one from Joshua for my wife over a year ago. She loves it. Other than a little dirt/scratches on part of the datewheel, it's an amazing timepiece.
  6. It's on a really nice deployant with the proper logo. I'm really loving it. May have to do more pictures in a better environment, this was a quick grab in window light. Didn't even clean the crystal. But I'm LOVING it on the strap.
  7. Bought a croc strap from Joshua after I lost some parts in my bracelet. He's sending parts, but thought I'd try a strap. Looks amazing! Couldn't get one of the springbars off, so I took it to a local (non-AD) watch shop. They couldn't believe it wasn't a gen, including the new strap. Bought some extra springbars (better quality). Old one is still stuck in the bracelet, don't know if I'll be able to get it out. Another day, another project. For now, LOVE the watch on this strap. Here's a pic:
  8. Ok, thanks, guys. I think I'll take it to a local watch shop (non-AD who does adjustments to my SS bands). Really wanted to learn to do it myself. For future reference, what's the best springbar tool to use? I bought one, it has a larger v-shaped tool on one end (good for straps, I'm guessing?) and had a pin on the other. I think I need a small springbar tool on the other end. Also, recommendations for quality replacement springbars? I notice Ofrei has them, they seem inexpensive, but you have to buy all one diameter in a kit. Should I ask the watch shop for a quality spare springbar or three?
  9. I'm swapping the SS band of my SOSF for a croc strap from Joshua. Lost a screw from the band, thought it was a good time to try a strap on the watch. 6 o'clock came off fine, but can't seem to compress the springbar via the slot on the top. Any tips? Tried to use a springbar tool on the band, but only have a larger tool. Broke the (cheap) round end of the tool, used a flat eyeglass screwdriver perfectly on the bottom of the band, got the new strap in on that side. The other side won't come off. It's my first time doing this, perhaps someone can offer advice as to why it's not coming off? I've been trying for hours.
  10. I'd definitely be in for a big pilot. I have big arms and like big watches.
  11. One of the pins in my black SOSF SSB fell out, dealer (rep) is going to source one for me. In the mean time, I'd love to try it on a deployant strap. Who has a good one? I'd love to get one before I leave on a holiday in 1.5 weeks.
  12. Finally went to a NASCAR race. Unbelievable how fast and exciting it is. Was photographing it, so wandering around all over the track. Several real and fake Rolex in the VIP area. I fit right in with my SD, haha! Man was it hot out in Fontucky, about 113 degrees. Of course, as a proud Tissot owner, I also had to photograph their sign.
  13. I think we've found our new datewheel font!
  14. I was at an NHL dinner recently, have never seen so many Breitlings in a room. Hockey's a manly sport, makes me happy to have my Breitlings.
  15. I walk into Tourneau with my reps, but don't flaunt them. Most of the people behind the counter, since it's at a mall, know less than I do. I always get into good conversations with them and fondle a few gens. Favorite was a GP Tourby, used, for $56k. I educated the woman showing it to me about tourbillon movements, she let me play with some of the beautiful new & used gens. I keep my watch either on or put it in my pocket as I try on other watches. Had a band resized on one watch by a local dealer, he didn't deal in that brand. His eyes lit up, he asked if it was real (an AP RO), I admitted it wasn't. He admitted he'd never seen one in real life, I assured him it was really close. But I'd never walk into a knowledgeable AD with that dealer's brand of watch on, unless it was a gen.

  17. Thanks for the laugh! I think it's a good thing. It will change the cell phone industry forever, for the better. In about 9-10 days we'll have a good idea. I'm not getting one, as I learned never to get a 1st generation tech product. And the lock with AT&T for 5 years is a bad thing, as well. I think if they made a 2nd gen version with a moving hard drive (higher capacity) and fixed whatever most consumers have problems with (I expect few since Apple is the king of user experience) I might be convinced to give up my current chrome robot turd. I have a Treo 650, and other than the rebooting problem EVERYONE has, it's a great phone. And I have a ton of Palm apps from 10 years of using Palm devices, many of which I need for work.
  18. Izabel's watch is on upside down!
  19. Not sure if my models should wear this: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?act=At...ost&id=8311 or this: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?act=at...ost&id=8312
  20. Sim, that's some brilliant trivia!
  21. Flavor Flav strikes again!!!! Beautiful, love the strap.
  22. I have to really agree. Not only about the money saved, the things I've learned about reps and gens alike! I've gotten into more fun conversations recently, has actually been a good ice breaker and great for business. And Nanuq, no kidding. Mrs. Antonio has her own rep now, but doesn't know what I've spent on the things. I'm sure my bill is less than yours, I've seen pics of some of your collection. Still a cheaper hobby than many. I know what I'm getting for my next one, but according to Joshua, I'm waiting about 30-45 days for it to come out.
  23. It's my first anniversary here. Want to thank everyone for their knowledge, Joshua for the brilliant watches, and Flavor Flav for my first mod. You guys ROCK!
  24. Cableguy, you're in for a treat. Flavor Flav ROCKS. His work is unbelievably good. And Flav, awesome job on the above watch. Your work is spectacular, ALWAYS love to see it. Happy to have my own "Flavorized" SD. Thanks again.
  25. As with anything, if someone asks if they can take a picture of something you love and collect, they're almost always thrilled with the idea. I actually was struck by the retro-coolness of the watch. Not something I'd buy, but he'd not buy a Breitling for the same reason. Everyone has their own taste, obviously! It was good to cause a fun conversation, something good for everyone.
