  1. Definitely a wonderful watch, congrats! Just, it's not the Titanium that does not fit the brown strap, it is the blue dial (the 036 and 057 teach a lesson here). That watch is made for a blue or gray or black strap, with light blue stitching. How the caseback is?
  2. Yes Hambone, thats really interesting. Thanks for sharing this amazing tale.
  3. Nope, they would be of no use other than to PAM-enthusiast scuba divers -- quite small as a buying target, IMHO. But, if you really like its look, there is a hommage flying out there. There was a thread about it.
  4. @Richard: simply awesome. Possibly the best looking PAM (and strap combo) I ever saw.
  5. To render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, I have to make it clear that someone else had a finger in the "4-stage W-Paneritis syndrome" pie. Actually, it was identified by another physician, a member of great taste and humor and kindness that I am missing so much... Hope all well with you, Esmarc! Btw... I see that posting his syndrome here made my "funny" rating rise up over any other my rating. Please think twice about it, find a way to withdraw them. I assure I am just a boring, sucking, unfriendly person. Oh, and yes, I am going to mark as a personal foe anyone who should rate even this post as funny...
  6. I just wonder why noone seems to care that a correct pronounciation of "panerai" and other common panerai-related words is posted right in this forum into an mp3 file (zipped) available for anyone to download...
  7. Sorry, I have to officially diagnose you in 1st stage of Paneritis. Stage 1: What is a PAM? (or: Why a PAM?) Stage 2: Wow, a PAM! Stage 3: Where is my PAM? Stage 4: Where is my next PAM???
  8. Case is definitely 40mm. And CG is very close to 5mm (maybe 5.5). And, as an RWG supporter, you are always welcome.
  9. Decided: to me, it is a genuine 125F (E series was made in 1500 pieces, not 2100). Numbers do match. Besides of that, this model has not been repped so far (as far as I know). Agree with chieftang about the case size: misdescription. Maybe the seller included the CG. Honest price, but not the deal of the century.
  10. If it is 40mm, it may be a genuine 125 (126 is the bracelet model). Just a bit dubious about the crown. The crown of 40mm models is thinner than that of 44mm models, but this looks with a too wide room between the crown and the crown guard... Any other info (millesimation, numbers on the caseback, etc)? Price of the 125 was 4900 USD in 2006.
  11. That is great info, offshore, thanks! @vintagerolex: unfortunately there are no exploded diagrams of Seagull movements around. On the Seagull site you can just see a few pics of some their movements. A very common chinese movement is the Miyota 8215 clone, so FxrAndy's advice to look for it is a good advice. You may find it here. Unfortunately I was even unable to identify which movement it is on the cousinsuk website (it might be the DG2803).
  12. Opened legs (widespreaded) with a hole between them (especially in case of a recessed pinion)
  13. It should. A better PVD than mine would make it even better, probably (mine was performed by the same company that was once doing the PVD coating on OEM PAMs, but they had changed their method along time and their current PVD is a little too black to my eyes). Maybe I missed your post... would you provide me with a link please? Btw, at first I got a little angry by missing the ajoesmith's offer for the 028 dial... Then I considered that, to me, it was going to be just a backup, while to you it was going to be your very 028!
  14. I was not meaning to suggest that AR performs better on glass, rather that AR coated glass performs the same as AR coated sapphire as for scratch resistance -- and even better as for crash resistance. About possible differences in the AR effect yes, I'd have to compare like you say. I also remember your note about AR coating on glass not getting the same blue tone as on sapphire, chief. But that guy asked for double AR coat on a PAM, so he does not look excessively concerned about accuracy, rather about overall look. And, frankly, I personally find colorless double AR much better looking than blue single AR. Well, even better than blue double AR to tell the truth. To me, double AR should have the crystal like disappearing. That is voided by a blue tint (that, even more, modifies the color and look of the dial). Naturally, if we otherwise speak about accuracy, that's an entirely different matter... On PAMs, at least.
  15. Lello provides with the datewheel. I used to provide with the cyclops, but the last one got sold yesterday, sorry... If you want hints & tips on the cyclops you need, PM me.
  16. Btw, I wonder why anyone may want a double AR coated sapphire when double AR coated glass performs the same or better. It should not be a matter of inaccurate color nuance, as double AR coating already makes for an inaccuracy on a PAM.
  17. Hi Tourby, the correct crystal diameter to fit into a Jimmy's case is 35.5mm, and fortunately that is the standard rep crystal size (even if I saw rep crystals ranging from 34.8 to 36mm). As it has already been pointed out, you also need the Jimmy's teflon ring.
  18. Yes, mine was a stupid question. I noticed the OEM word by V only after asking it. Btw, K., I too love Marillion...
  19. 1. Metta. 2. May I ask whether it is your gen 112 or else? Amazing collection! I am left speechless!...
