  10. In lieu of a wristi.. I would like to post a tribute to those who have served in the AF.. I took my drive through Punchbowl Crater today.. National Cemetary of the Pacific ~ Outside the entrance some years ago .. all the MC's used to ride in force,.. hundreds of bikes.. we were the only ones that would sit and listen to the Veterans that spoke.. Now.. since 9/11 people come through all day long to pay tribute .. so Clubs ride in on their own.. Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and ROTC Cadets..place the Flag and leis on each and every marker.. thousands upon thousands.. the entire crater .. so many.. and Family members do their own Flower rememberances. Happy Memorial Day to All.. Lani
  11. Urabus,.. this Memorial Day feels very different from others... My Uncles all served in the 442 during WWII ... before my time... but we in Hawaii grew up with their History, they were the all Japanese American Regiment that was made up from volunteers from Hawaii and the Mainland.. the most decorated regiment during the war. They sustained some of the heaviest casulaties. they were known as the "Go for Broke" soldiers. .. they had something to prove.. Their Parents and siblings were put in internment camps here and on the mainland.. as were many citizens whose ancestors came from Foriegn shores. Every year there are less and less of them at their reunion .. but we keep their legacy with the "Sons and Daughters" of the 442. Because they stand for more than just War Veterans. They represent everything that this Country was founded on.. understanding and overcoming prejudice.. overcoming overwhelming odds,.. proving that so many different cultures can come together as one. The one Uncle that is still alive .. all he say's is .. "We did our Duty".. end of story.. they were all proud to serve their Country.. when Congress issued a formal apology .. their parents lands were taken away after the attack on PH.... there was no bitterness .. no remorse .. They were just proud to have served. It rained last night.. but today the sky is crystal clear.. and the National Cemetary of the Pacific.. at Punchbowl will be adorned with a small flag over each of the thousands of markers.. and Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troops will drape leis over each one... Each and everyone gave their lives so we can live ours...
  12. There are messages from around the World .. it would mean a lot to the Families and Commrades.. of those Fallen. to leave a message here..> http://www.iwillsoaragain.com/Fallen14.htm
  13. Rick .. I do appreciate your enthusiasm.. but perhaps you should save your tutorials for the right time and place and not during the Photo contest.. If you had read the thread leading to the Novice division you would have known not to post your image ahead of time. It's not that it isn't top qulaity .. but I did the format for the specific purpose of not have ing this happen.. thanks R
  14. it's a rather thin coat.. it's not too much the scratches but the wearing down of the coating..

  16. My thought's of this Memoeial Day Weekend are not at the beaches..nor my so called problems with the economy.... not this year... They are with the Men and Women who gave unselfishly so we can enjoy the FREEDOM that is not FREE.... "Let Freedom Ring" Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. To the Men and Women of the Armed Forces "My deepest Gratitude for your Sacrifice " To the Families of Our Fallen Soldiers. "With Deepest Gratitude for Your Ultimate Sacrifice... Your Children, far from Home" I pray you find peace in the thought that your Children gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for Our Freedom. I WILL SOAR AGAIN HOME PAGE http://www.iwillsoaragain.com/ Here are some of the poems that touched my Soul... - C W Johnson We walked among the crosses Where our fallen soldiers lay. And listened to the bugle As TAPS began to play. The Chaplin led a prayer We stood with heads bowed low. And I thought of fallen comrades I had known so long ago. They came from every city Across this fertile land. That we might live in freedom. They lie here 'neath the sand. I felt a little guilty My sacrifice was small. I only lost a little time But these men lost their all. Now the services are over For this Memorial Day. To the names upon these crosses I just want to say, Thanks for what you've given No one could ask for more. May you rest with God in heaven From now through evermore. For so Long Memorial Day meant beaches.. barbeques .. no work.. This year seems so different.. no longer will I take for granted... and after reading a Poem by a Fallen Soldiers Wife.... Dear My Fallen Soldier About how a soldier
  17. It's been a 3~Day Tudor Weekend
  18. Yikes .... the question is by paying the fine is that admisssion of guilt.. of knowingly purchasing a rep ?? sounds like it to me.. I can't tell "you" what to do.. but when I have recieved letters from Customs.. (although SWISS Customs.. is it's own entity) I have never replied in any way shape or forum.. unless they can trace your payment to the sender.. in the future it may be well to try and order from within EU.. or is Switzerland Neutral and not apart of EU.. thus Customs has jurisdiction over anything entering the Country ?? 19. Great shot .. great example of using imagination and the tools around ya !! Too bad the "rain" may not be used in the same context that it was in the Novice division.. but great shot though A~C Lani
  20. ALL Dealers.. IMO.. have issues now and again.. it is ineviteble in this hobby and their business. anything from incorrect orders to incorrect documentation... the question I ask myself is who will take care of the issues in a timely manner after the sale ? I stick with one main dealer... I have learned switching horses in the middle of the stream does not always have it's advantages. MBK watches are another matter entirely. my main point here is .. no matter what dealer you choose .. sooner or later you will run into issues with your replication.. no matter who it is. weather it's dropped shipped or not .. a replicated movement can have a number of issues after the watch has been shipped out.. These are just my experiences with many .. many purchases... and many issues from various dealers(they all have issues in their watches sooner or later) ... I stick with the dealer that makes it right no matter what.. and it is important for me to build a business relationship with people I spend my money with. A~C Lani
  21. PreV... after admiring TMG's 7032 for over a year.. and having it grow on my like a virus... then communicating with TMG over my obsession.. I gave in and I haven't regretted it one bit !!!!! Phong sent me the 7031 acrylic bezel..and told me to wear it for a month.. and he would swap it for the 7032 if I wanted.. I almost kept the black acrylic.. but gave in to the ss 7032.. I wanted to keep both but upon Ubi's suggestion that swapping the bezels.. may comprimise the integrity of the crystal.. I went with the ss bezel only.. and seeing how your melting your screen on TMG's original pics... give Phong a call.. he will come down in price.. I would say offer or ask him if he will accept 600 usd less.. I think you will be happy !!! Give in .. what of you got to loose ??? and tell Phong R from Hawaii say's "Hello".. and R from Col. too.. and assure him we are not the same peeps...!! he is quite a character.. funny... Aloha Lani
  22. Well said JJ... that's what I did .. albeit a fantastic modder worked on my MBK dial... I did pay a little less than that for my Tudor 7032 after admiring TMG's for so long.. but that is because of the original movement and the dial that no one else offers.. and genuine crystal .. I gave in to the awesome temptation.. A~C Lani
  23. To Clarify Carl.. I do not mean to "prepare" for anyone to be called out.. rather it shouldn't be the main focus of collecting reps... but if you "should" it's not a big deal a lot of times I see newer members posting about owning mainly genuines and this is just "fun".. that just sounds like an adendum to buying reps.. in other words .. it's not something that I worry about or that is on my mind whist wearing a rep.. I wanted to make that point in my post.. A~C Lani
