the hands looks good, but then again, the 3rd gen hands were good if i remember rightly. the crown does seem to be really recessed though into the case, i think the gen crown stands more proud. like you say, there does look to be problems with the HE valve and the pearl. i'd call rep on this too.

Well today is the day, I've finally cracked and brought my first rep ever! I got a fiddy from davidsen with fixed canon pinion, superlume etc. All for the bargain price of $220, and with todays exchange rate it cost less than £120 on paypal Now it's just waiting for it to arrive, I can't wait, feel like a kid on xmas eve lol. A full pictorial review will naturally be posted on here once it arrives. yay!

In my own cynical view its so people will keep on buying the newer revisions of the same watch in the quest for accuracy. Just look at all the gens of the PO, we are on what, 5th now? I dare say that some people who brought a first gen, will have brought a 4th gen. And if a 100% perfect one came out, they'd buy one again. Therefore they make their money 3 times over. Similarly why mobile phone manufacturers dont just stick in a 5mp camera in the phone instead of giving 2mp, then 3mp. It's so that people will constantly upgrade.

I've never measured my wrist before, but i just did and theyre 8 inches exactly. Is that quite big? I was interested in the IWC GST but after reading it was 40mm it could look quite small. It seems a fiddy is the way forward
