  1. With K's help, I was able to do a little searching around and it looks like, based on the serial number of the movement, that this watch was manufactured in 1948 and has a cal 12.68z movement in it.
  2. Ok! Got it off. Now. How do I get the movement out?
  3. Yes - it is 35.5mm in diameter. I am using a case knife with it, but even if I attempt from the lug sides I get no where. Is there any other fancy trick to it that I am missing? Now that you have seen a pic, do you think the caseback should come off?
  4. Ouch....that could be bad. I suppose it would be best to remove the watch from the wrist before attempting to use that specialized case back remover, huh?
  5. I thought of that. However, even if that is the case, how do I pop the crystal out? And then, once I figure that out, how would I remove the dial and movement? How would I release the stem?
  6. I have a nice vintage Longines that belongs to a co-worker of mine. The crown came off of the stem and I told him I would take a look at it for him. It has a snap off case back, but it is smooth and flush to the edge of the watch case. There are no apparent gaps and I cannot get my watch knife in between the very small grove between the case back and watch case. Any suggestions or tricks? I verified that it is a snap on case back. I tried a sticky ball and the case back just spins around
  7. That should make your decision a little easier/tougher all at the same time, huh K? Babola - exceptional review! Thanks for sharing!! It's a beauty.
  8. But that only applies in the rep world. I highly doubt that there are any gen ETA 7750's in 3-6-9 configuration. Several Breitling's and the Hublot Chrono's use the 3-6-9 configuration of the 2892-A2 with a Dubois Depraz 2021 chrono module
  9. Here's an upgraded look at our "Super" RWG Data Center: Great thread!!
  10. Thanks guys! Looking forward to being a part of such a great team! @ Ken - if you present me with a big shiny red button, I will have no choice but to push it
  11. Clothes. Lots of clothes! Did pretty good, actually! Had a great day out shopping with my fiancee.
  12. Why are there two 60 second subdials on these? That's a lot of money for a rep that isn't even close to the gen. Interesting choice of movement though. It will be fun to see if they come out with anything else using this movement.
  13. Thank you for the prayers. Sadly, my grandfather passed away at 4am this morning, peacefully in his sleep. I am very grateful for the time I got to spend with him this past week. My eyes can no longer see you smile, Yet my heart feels its warmth My ears can no longer hear your voice, Yet your words of wisdom are etched into each and every day I can no longer hold your hand, Yet it still guides my every step What we see, hear, & touch is only temporary What we feel, learn & love is eternal Rest in Peace Grampa
  14. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I am home now with my family and I have been spending every day with my grandfather in the hospital. He really is a stubborn guy. The doctors keep telling us he has maybe hours before he passes on, but then he perks right back up again. I guess he still has some unfinished business, but in the end I am really blessed to have been given the opportunity to see him before he moves on. I will cherish each day that I have with him. I really do believe that you guys helped out with your warm wishes and I want to thank you all for that. I truly means a lot to me. As many of you have noted, he is a really special guy and has lived a miraculous life on this earth.
  15. Hello all, I got unfortunate news today that my Grandfather is not doing well. He was in a car accident two weeks ago. He was T-Boned on the drivers side and broke several ribs and is really banged up. Today I got a call from my Dad that I should come home to see him and that it does not look good. His liver & kidney's are shutting down and he cannot eat or drink. My grandfather is an amazing man. 94 years old and still driving. He works volunteering at the nursing home three days a week. The nursing home that my grandmother was in until she passed away 12 years ago from Alzheimer's disease. He was the head of the Alzheimer's Society for a number of years, and all around just such a generous guy. A World War II veteran and the most generous and kind hearted person I have ever known. I will be flying home tomorrow and I pray that I get to see him before he moves on to the next life. It is here, in this place, that I say that I truly love him and will miss him dearly. May God shelter him and bring him together with my Grandmother once again, forever, in ever lasting peace.
  16. It's really too bad this is for women, as it is a beautiful piece. I thought I'd still share it here for anyone interested: Click Me
  17. Well, since it's the 9th and my Tudor Pics line up with the date, I guess I'll wear my Tudor again today
  18. My Tudor on gen folded link bracelet. No comparison. It is by far the most comfortable watch I have ever worn
  19. I liked Jimster's approach to the Title so I just changed it to get more interest
  20. What is that Cullman adapter you are using to hold the AB800?
  21. Retard = Delay in english. Beautiful piece BT!! What does it say on the top of retard? l'Advancé
  22. Haven't ordered it yet I only ordered the new croc strap for my Grandfather's Bulova restoration. I'll order one in the next month or so
  23. That's too bad, because it is a stunning looking watch. It felt just right on my wrist and I was wearing my PAM 112h at the time that I tried it on. The quality of it was incredible! The little locking clutch mechanism on the crown was quite brilliant, although it took me and the sales rep a while to figure out how to lock the crown back down
