  1. Very cool vid R! Thanks for posting that!
  2. See that....you learn something new everyday Very cool! I quite like it. How rare are these in comparison to the other Comex varieties?
  3. Back to the IWC for this rainy wednesday
  4. Click me Certainly a re-dial, but begs the question if these ever really existed in the first place?
  5. Imagine being Tiger Woods......leading the tournament and about to win. Now imagine being the photographer standing right in the way of a great shot and just happening to be taking a picture at just the right time!
  6. Good point for sure, but like others have said, a good and proper service will make an A7750 a very reliable movement that will give you years of trouble free use. Same can be said about the A6497 vs an ETA one. Of course, another popular thing to do is to buy and ETA movement and swap out the Asian decorated bridges to maintain the "look" of the watch movement
  7. What on earth did they do to that poor case back? Use a can opener on it?
  8. Fascinating! Would you say this has a similar effect as AR?
  9. Totally get where you are coming from K. If someone is helped in some way by a member here, the courteous thing would be to pay it forward and help the next member. However, if you are the sort of person who lives by that philosophy, and you help a member out, and in the end you see them making a profitable benefit from your free or cheap help, I can imagine that doesn't feel very good. A good example of this: Ubi's 7032 being listed on eBay for $40k
  10. I like it! I like it a lot!!! I almost pulled the trigger on Jojo's fantasy clasp bracelet for my 1680 as well, but unfortunately let it go too long and missed it I couldn't make up my mind if it would look good or not. Well sir, you have proven me very, very wrong!! It looks fantastic! Nicely done!!!
  11. Fantastic tear down and detailed review! Thank you so much for doing that! We all know how precious your time is and we really appreciate you spending some time on this. A shame they "invented" their own new movement. Really quite odd as they would have a HUGE market share if they just made a 1:1 copy of the ETA movement.
  12. Hmmmmm...... I wonder how they would respond if I were to ask "Who has the best sub?"
  13. Wow....can I ask what the question was that caused all this in the first place? I have heard of things like this happening at WUS and TRF etc... Shocking to me that they feel it's necessary to censor their members posts to such a high degree.
  14. Perfect Looks amazing Freddy. That new hand makes the difference
  15. Make sure you lay out a bed of rose petals and light some nice vanilla candles. That'll be a good welcoming for her As for good new tights: HK Tan
  16. Looking great J!!! Too bad about the drill bit but it's a good thing you were able to get it out (even if it involved a rather nerve racking procedure)
  17. Thanks J. From what I gather it definitely appears to be a scary undertaking so I completely understand your comment I am on the hunt for the endlinks so I don't need to go through this procedure. We'll see how it all works out.
  18. Thanks Cats! Definitely want to install a gen crown. Any chance a gen crystal would fit on this?
  19. Which crown is it? Do you know the part number for the crown & tube? As for the bracelet, I really want to drill the lug holes out and install my gen jubilee bracelet on it. The bracelet is ok, but it definitely needs a cleaning & lube treatment like what P4GTR does. Click me for more info
  20. Very cool! Thanks!! Is this a reasonably priced modification?
  21. I would post it here in the Other Brands section where it will get a little more exposure. There's a sub forum in the Watchmaking Resource Center called Technical and helpful information, but I would imagine it would get buried in there. Would love to see more pics of the mod though
  22. Not 100% certain, but I do not believe you can get to the reset lever from underneath the movement. I am pretty sure you will have to approach it from the top. I'll defer to the experts though, but that is just my hunch.
  23. Thanks LHOOQ! Definitely happy with it
