Sorry Stephane....I was in the same situation. I had one a while ago that I didn't wear too often so I foolishly sold it. Missed it ever since. It's not something I will wear very often, but it's a great dress watch and that's when I missed it the most In my opinion, it just looks fantastic with a dress shirt or a suit.

This one today. I'm surprised how nice it looks with just a white T-shirt and jeans I figured it would be too dressy, but I really like it a lot

Will a Breitling Cal. 35 movement fit into a B01 or Navi rep?
redwatch replied to cougaree's topic in The Breitling Area
Mike do you happen to know any specifications on the 2894-2? Spacing of the sub dials. Spacing of the pushers? Are the pushers in the same position as the 7750 pushers? That might just be what I am looking for. Need a seconds at 3 chrono for a Breit project of a different flavor -
Do you think you will ever move to a D200 IR with the IR sensor modification? Some of the shots I have seen with that modification and combined with a filter are pretty outstanding. I was looking into Lloyd Chambers examples and they are pretty outstanding!

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen! I'm quite pleased to have one back on my wrist again

Yup - that's the one!

Cartier Santos 100 A little history behind Cartier & their watches. Some of you may already know that in the late 1800's and early 1900's Mass Production of watches was becoming a big deal in the industry. Pioneered by Vacheron Constantin, and then taken to another level by the Waltham Watch Company. It was during this time, between 1920 & 1950 that wrist watches were becoming predominantly more popular, overtaking its older cousin, the pocket watch. With this new found industry, watch making was beginning to flourish. In 1904, Brazilian Aviator Alberto Santos Dumont asked his friend Louis Cartier to come up with an alternative that would allow him to keep both hands on the controls while timing his performances during flight. Cartier and his master watchmaker, Edmond Jaeger soon came up with the first prototype for a man's wristwatch called the Santos wristwatch. The Santos first went on sale in 1911, the date of Cartier's first production of wristwatches. Cartier is known for developing the very first wristwatch for men. (Patek Phillipe made the first one for women.) In 1907, Cartier signed a contract with Edmond Jaeger, who agreed to exclusively supply the movements for Cartier watches. By this time, Cartier had branches in London, New York and St. Petersburg and was quickly becoming one of the most successful watch companies in the world. The introduction of the Baignoire and Tortue models (both of which are still in production today) took place in 1912, followed by the Tank model's debut in 1917. The Cartier tank model, designed by Louis Cartier, was inspired from the newly introduced war machines on the Western Front. This line too has survived, with over thirty varieties now being made since. In the early 1920s Cartier formed a joint company with Edward Jaeger (of Jaeger- LeCoultre) to produce movements solely for Cartier. Thus was the European Watch & Clock Company born, although Cartier continued to use movements from other great makers. Cartier watches can be found with movements from Vacheron Constantin, Audemars-Piguet, Movado and LeCoultre. It was also during this period that Cartier began adding its own reference numbers to the watches it sold, usually by stamping a four-digit code on the underside of a lug. Here are a couple of pictures of the genuine: The Cartier Santos 100 that we are reviewing came from Josh at Perfect Clones. One of the big issues people had with the older versions of this rep was the fact that the dial was quite a bit off from the gen. One of the biggest things about the genuine Santos is the fact that the dial is actually curved. Rocket754 made some famous "Rocket Dial" Santos reps which were really quite great! I had the original one that I bought off of Rocket and for some dumb reason, i sold it a while back as I didn't think I would be wearing that much. When Josh (Perfect Clones) & Andrew (Trusty Time) announced a new Ultimate Cartier Santos 100, I had to go for it. I must say, I am really pleased that I did. You will notice in the pictures below that the dial is, in fact, curved. Just like the gen. Also, the Cabochon Sapphire Crown is quite lovely. It is very well made, and has a very nice deep blue hue to it. For those of you wondering what a Cabochon is; it is a gemstone that has been shaped and polished as opposed to faceted. The resulting form is usually a convex top with a flat bottom. Cutting en cabochon is usually applied to opaque gems, while facetting is usually applied to transparent stones. Other notes about the rep: The case is superb. Very nice CG's. Brushing and Polishing is excellent. The case back is well made, and quite thick. As usual, the screws are a little cheap, so be careful if you decide to take off the caseback. The movement I got was the 2824-2, and it is verified and working quite well. A few swirls in the hand and the movement starts right up. The "faux" croc band is too be expected. Not the greatest quality, and certainly something I plan to replace very, very soon. I am either going to get another HK Tan strap (like the one I had on the Rocket Dial version) or, if I can find one, a nice OEM strap. The buckle is quite decent, and compared to the gen that I have, it is very similar. It doesn't have that "gen-like" feel when it clicks and locks, but it isn't too bad. The gen is definitely better. So...without any further ado, here are several pics of my newest acquisition Hope you enjoyed! Oh....and of course.....the Wrist Shot!!

Very cool. Did you have the D200 sensor modified for this?

How to make a better cannon pinion for a Panerai 7750 movement.
redwatch replied to sander's topic in The Panerai Area
Ok, first of all, coming up with the mod itself was just pure genius! I don't own a 7750 powered PAM, nor will I at anytime. However, as an engineer & tinkerer, I can definitely appreciate the ingenuity put forth in coming up with this mod. I applaud your skills Sander! Secondly, to take the time to do such an incredibly detailed outline of exactly how you did it, including graphical references, is just awe inspiring! A huge kudos to you!! -
I like that option so far! Does it work on the original 2G? I know there's no 3G capabilities, but is there other fun things that I could play with?

Can you run regular iOS as well Nanuq? Or is it "one or the other"? Just wondering if it would run ok in a corporate environment.

In Japan, Real Men Go to a Hotel With Virtual Girlfriends
redwatch replied to jkerouac's topic in Bits, bytes & babes
I'm surprised that I haven't heard more about Apples iPhone (and as of today, iPod Touch) with Facetime and online/virtual sex services. As you said - only in Japan!! -
Now that looks excellent! Very nice and subtle change, but it completely changes the overall look of the watch! Good call!

That's a real stunner burnz! You have found yourself a superb looking watch there! Enjoy it!

Very nice acquisition J! It's a good playmate for your silver dialed one!

Any chance you can walk me through upgrade the IOS on this? I have the latest release that was issued on Aug 24th, 2010 - c831-k9o3sy6-mz.124-25d.bin I was able to activate an IP address on the router, and I am able to assign a static IP on the PC and connect to the router. I was unable to run the web interface as I keep getting a Java error. I noticed the IOS ver was really old (around 2005) so my friend sent me the latest bin file. I loaded Free TFTP, put the file in the root folder and assigned the server IP address. I can ping the router just fine, but the router is unable to find the file on the TFTP server for some reason. Any suggestions you may have would be really helpful! I'm not giving up on this thing yet

The Watch Bitz screwdrivers are excellent. Don't waste your money on the crappy offerings on eBay.

You mean, besides hideous?

Wow Ronin! That manual is amazing! I have every piece of documentation that came with this thing, sealed in the original bags. Of course, there is no manual like the one you posted. All I have is the basic settings in the Quick Start Guide which states to use the Cisco Router Web Setup
-
Sweet! Thanks Ronin!! That looks much better than some of the code examples I found on the forums. First off, its the first one that has mention of DHCP pool. There were a few examples that mentioned DHCP, but nothing about the pool settings or anything. Also, once I have DHCP up and running, and before I get to far with this, will this router work with PPPoE?

Here's a beast of a beater. Wenger GST Air Chronograph
redwatch replied to Justasgood's topic in Other Brands Area
Nice little project K! Who needs to count for 12 hours anyways? What would the age be of this watch? As for whether or not to keep it, I guess it depends on if you like first of all? If it was just a fun little project, then let it go and move on to the next project -
Oh my........

Got a Cisco 831 router that was programmed for another use and I need to do a factory reset on it. I restarted it using the standard config file and also did a complete erase nvram but it still won't work as a DHCP router. Anyone that can help me out with this? (I don't really need to use this, but now that I have started playing with it, I want to conquer it )

An Asian 21j version of the Project X would be a big hit in my opinion I would definitely pony up $128 for one right now.
