Looks like the inner diameter has changed just enough to where the crystal won't press back in. I will have to replace the crystal with a new one. Also still waiting for the hands to come back from plating as well. HKTan is making me a nice new alligator strap in black and I have a new deployant clasp coming in from the Watchboys up in Canada.
It's getting there, just taking longer than I thought it would. Of course, that's always to be expected with custom work like this. Good thing I'm so patient
Agreed Alligoat. I really don't get the reasoning behind the 2836/3135 copy. Why even bother to make a 2836 look like a Rolex Movement? There's no way its a real ETA movement. Seems like a lot of extra work for no good reason.
I used to help out at the Tall Pines Rally in Canada when I was a kid and I was always amazed by the Audi Quattro's and there ridiculous amounts of power! I also remember one American driver - Carl something who had an insane Ford Cosworth. 700+ hp and a hideous purple paint job. Problem was, it was too powerful for the snowy conditions and he had a really hard time controlling the car.
I got a chance to ride in car '00'. It was a donated Audi Quattro. Brand new. No rally retrofits. Man we did some serious damage to that car. Audi never gave us a car again after that. I guess they weren't too happy when we ripped the oil pan out from under the car.
Found this today while browsing Perfect Clones. A new Project X Designs Rolex 16610. Nice maxi dial. No cyclops. No CG's. Looks pretty good in my opinion. Caseback looks a little off, but the X logo on the dial looks nice.
You can find it here
Interesting to note: hard to tell, but it looks as though the rehaut engraving actually lines up!
Got mine in today. Ordered from Josh. QC pictures and actual watch are identical Cabachon crown looks super. It's nice and straight and probably the best one I have seen on a rep to date. Pics to come soon. (Forgot my camera at home today)
UPDATE: Watch arrived today safe and sound. QC Pics and actual watch were identical!! Cabachon jewel is nicely flat and centered and is the best one I have seen yet on a Cartier. I am very very pleased!!
A black dial just sold on fleabay last week. It had been up for over a month getting no bids. Then all of a sudden it was gone through a best offer. Sold for $1,700! I couldn't believe it. The guy had it mis-listed as a Spatiograph (forgot the "e" on the end)
In my obsessive search for a Spatiographe, I found this one. I think it's still for sale for 4,300 Singapore Dollars (about $3,100 USD) which, unfortunately, is way out of my reach.
Thought I'd share a pic of this beauty!!!
Nicely done! I am really liking the new folded link bracelets that are coming out finally! It definitely looks great on the watch! And, as Andy said, you'll be even more attached to this one since it's cost you your blood & sweat!
It looks ok, but why did they even bother to attempt to make the 2836 look like a 1570? Who cares? It's behind a closed caseback where no one will see it. :g
The bracelet & lugholes look good
