OK so the micro blasting is essential before the PVD is applied Right that clears that up Thanks

What seals the crystal to the case?
ajoesmith replied to Hellbender's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
You say in point 2 remove the bezel Ive have just removed and installed a crystal on my navitimer and you do not need to remove the bezel. 1 - Case back off 2 - Movement etc out 3 - Push out crystal with thumbs 4 - get new crystal and press in place and then use a crystal press. 5 - Put back together. -
As you may or may not know i m currently doing a Bell and Ross PVD project. I have sent the bell and Ross BR03-92 to be PVDed by a company. The rep i sent had the rep PVD, not real. The company will micro blast, clean and then PVD. What is the purpose of the micro blasting? Im asking because the company is saying that is is very difficult to do the micro blasting, due to the very small parts. I could send them the rep case in stainless steel, ask them to just clean and PVD, no micro blasting. I take it this would be ok? My understanding or micro blasting is that it just prepares the surface to be PVDed. IF its blasted with different grades of beads then the finish of the PVD will be slightly different - is this correct? If it would be ok to send the SS case and eliminate the need for micro blasting then it would be easier. Not impossible but easier Any help is appreciated

Feeler for B&R 03-92 Special group buy with gen PVD coating
ajoesmith replied to ajoesmith's topic in General Discussion
Yes a update as of today 18th Oct 2007 The Company got back to me and said that because of the very small parts that need to be microblasted and then PVDed that they might get 'lost' in the micro blasting process and they were unsure as to how to 'mount' them in the chamber for the PVD coating. The parts they are referring to are the very small screw on the case back, the 'do not unscrew' screw, the 4 screws on the front of the watch case and the lug screws. I told the company to just assemble the watch case and then do the micro blasting, cleaning, then the PVD. They have now told me that it will probably go in the chamber tomorrow, but not sure as that chamber is under repair at the moment. A bit disappointing as i and other members have been waiting a while for this but as we all know in the rep game we need patience and lots of it! Ill keep you all updated on the progress. -

What happened to repping the EBel 1911 BTR chronograph
ajoesmith posted a topic in Other Brands Area
It looks like a standard 7750 with module will do the job, all be it with a recessed date wheel but who cares! Check out the review and the movie - http://www.goldarths.com/Regulars/Current_...s/Ebel_1911BTR/ -

SS Breitling Seawolf with good case and helium valve

I like the rolex styling, i do BUT... I have had a MBW Great White and liked it but it didnt get any wrist time so i sold it. I also had a Submariner and also didnt get wrist time, so i sold it. Ironically when i was younger, yes younger around 18 years old i had a cheap and nasty blue dial sub and wore it everyday, now rollies dont get wrist time. Well i have always liked the styling of the Milgauss 1019. I was thinking of getting it and do a washing machine job on it to make it look vintage. Or maybe on e of the vintage rollies the 5517 maybe and also doing the washing machine job. What do you think?

I remember that the old breitling avenger seawolf and avenger chrono factory produced these 2 watches in both Ti and SS. The SS being a fantasy. I have seen members pics of the SS Chrono avenger but I havent seen any pics of members with the SS version Seawolf. Does anyone have one? If so can you post some pics! Cheers

Update A big scare but all ok, Australia post lost my package that i sent to the PVD company. I was sent registered insured so it should have gotten there in about 3 days. I called Australia post and they couldnt locate the package. Well ive just spoken to the PVD company and my package arrived this morning, thank goodness!!!! Coating will take about 3 days so ill let everyone know how it turns out. And i also have another Bell and ross PVD, just the rep PVD so we can do a side by side comparison! Cant wait! But more possible bad news a dealer has told me that the bell and ross rep factory got busted so they might be very difficult to get now!!!!! we will have to wait and see. -
Not too sure about the SFSO claim but the chrono avenger is a great rep however only available in SS good version, Ti version has bad pearl, wrong 'B' engraving on the bezel and possible other flaws. My advice, wait for the Breitling Skyland

These movements will fit any watch that has a asian 7750 in it with subdial config 6,9,12
-
Im not sure i understand what you mean Every single watch i have owned real or fake, and any movement i have owned has always wound in the clockwise direction. Most if not all ETA's wind clockwise Asian movements similar to ETA wind clockwise, so do Asian 7750's You mean that all your other watches wind in the anticlockwise direction? EDIT: sorry maybe i misunderstood, you mean rotor winding, not manual winding via the crown?

Lets get the ball rolling with $10
