  1. Pugwash had his own section, and wrote tutorials on macro photography for wristies and such,
  2. Fraggle - I'd be happy to box up the complete dial/hands/movement assembly for you, if that is what you need. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, tho. It should be here in a few days, and hopefully it's exactly what I need.
  3. Thanks, AJ ~ hopefully she learned her lesson the first time.
  4. Thank you, Mike ~ I appreciate the sentiment. And to the person who asked about QC photos; yes that is a "real" QC pic.
  5. Since this is the first FM I've bought from Toro, I do not know which watch he is sourcing -exactly- and I do not even know (nor does anyone, I think) if all the FM reps are from the same factory ... basically, it's fingers crossed for now. The old FM reps I used to buy took gen dials and other parts, but this watch is an unknown to me. If it's wrong for the parts I need, I could sell it on for what I paid, no problem. There is a certain crowd which loves the FM Crazy.
  6. My daughter dropped her Zigmeister-built franken FM Crazy and smashed the crystal. It turns out that the cheapest way to replace the crystal is to buy a new replica and swap in the gen parts Thanks for sourcing this one for me, Toro.
  7. What are you polishing with, and does it leave a slight chemical protective film behind? Odds are, it does.
  8. Lovely .. I have been waiting 8 days, and have not received noticed of shipment from Toro. I understand that there was a Holiday in China, and am not concerned.
  9. There is a super replica of the Santos 100, but I do not know if it is still in production, and it certainly is not pave set in cz stones
  10. Hi dbane - the little mushroom tips you point out are called swages. The tool that does this is called a swaging tool. pronounced ... S WAGE EZ
  11. It appears to have been touched by a person, and the patina process has begun. Note that some Bronzo QC photos include the permanent fingerprint of a factory worker or a dealer.
  12. Can you point to any instance where the price of a replica decreased.
  13. In the last 2 years, Rep prices have doubled; I am not exaggerating. I guess I could pay $25,000 for the Gen instead.
  14. When your CC payment fails, you simply call your bank and tell them to allow it. Simple.
  15. China has been on holiday for several days. They come back to work Monday or Tuesday.
  16. If these are older 2846 movements, they are easy to service and strong work horses. Plus they beat at the correct rate for a vintage Rolex. So you are doing great at this point. The dealer should edit their web site to reflect the true movement.
  17. Gary? He is great. He has the potential to be the next great one. He just needs to keep at it, and go from "really good" to "legendary" That's not a lot to ask, right?
  18. Your ETA movement is self-winding. If you are moderately active during the day when you wear this watch, it will wind itself and never wind-down until it needs to be serviced, hopefully in 3 to 5 years. If you were more of a desk-driver at work, and did not move very much, a self-winding watch would stop on it's own eventually ..
  19. Rolex was big into specialist tool watches at one time .. the Explorer for climbing mountains and polar expeditions .. the Explorer II for spelunkers (cave explorers) .. Sub for divers .. and the Milgauss for scientists. Hey .. a note, here .. the Milgauss is rated for magnetic fields but do not put a modern rare earth magnet near it .. they are 10++ thousands of gauss .. well beyond even the gen's rating. Built to resist magnetic fields, and "magnet proof" are not the same thing.
  20. Hi Archie. Marlin is a watchmaker .. he makes them to order.
